ARIES

For NEW MOON in Scorpio

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(Takes place in your 8th House of power, empowerment, control, intensity, deep psychology, death, rebirth, transformation and sexuality.)

Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest through issues about finances, possessions and material resources. You may be called upon to find a more integrated blend of your personal values with those of others. This will likely require a lot of balancing and counter-balancing of motives, ideals, common sense and stealth.

In particular, you may find yourself struggling with how to feel confident and capable in some situation where there is a fuzzy line between what is yours and what is "theirs" (e.g., partner/spouse, parent, bank, insurance, etc.). You may have to take on more responsibility or submit to limitations that feel restrictive. The Collective around you (friends, associates, spiritual tradition, society at large, etc.) might feel like a pressuring influence compelling you to yield to what is expected.

All of this brings opportunities to play the Hero battling a hidden foe (ideals and rules, both explicit and implied). However, you'll probably find your usual arsenal of weaponry (anger, bravado, autonomy) doesn't work as effectively, and you must find ways to take a more subtle or conventional approach than you normally would.

This is can be achieved by listening to your intuitive inner voice, which may give surprising inspiration about how to use cunning and ingenuity to make progress with your challenges.

ARIES

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 2nd House of finances, income, expenses, possessions, resources, self-worth, and material security and values.)

What began at the New Moon was a quest to separate your "territory" from others' and to gather new inner resources to help you do that. This is very much in focus now. You may be focused in the areas of possessions, income and spending, but it will help to understand the undercurrents driving those situations. Issues about authority, limits or expectations are activate right now, but have more to do with establishing your own authority and responsibility than contending with others'.

Taking responsibility, being disciplined and operating within a structured methodology might feel like your life force is being suppressed. But in fact this is an opportunity to rebalance what you want with what you need, and to bring together the motivating energy that drives you forward with the restraint required to harness that energy productively. Both are equally valid, but need to be brought into a more cooperative balance.

You might also get caught up in a kind of perfectionism or idealism, in which you struggle to find a motive, direction or goal that is worthy or clear enough to pursue, which might trigger a reaction of apathy, guilt or passive-aggression. This is actually the start of a longer journey (1 to 2 years), in which you will explore ways to bridge the gap between what is expected of you as an individual versus what you feel compelled to do or be in a spiritual context (something greater than yourself, whether that is your friends or community or humanity or the Universe).

Right now, you are feeling the pull between the physical and the spiritual and learning how to tread the blurred line between them. Keep it simple, start with what you have and what you know, be open to new beginnings, and be open to the advantages of playing by the rules.

TAURUS

For NEW MOON in Scorpio

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(Takes place in your 7th House of love, balance, harmony, close relationships, marriage, partnership, inter-connectedness with others, style of interaction, lovers and adversaries.)

Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest in the areas of relationships, individuality, ambitions, and the foundation of past experience from which you develop them.

This is a process of rebalancing and counter-balancing what you want with the demands of other responsibilities in your life and the vision of what you are trying to create from your life's path. You may be weighed down by family obligations or held back due to lack of a sufficient support system.

These areas may require attention, development or pruning back before you can make progress elsewhere in your life. This creates a dilemma, since the call of trans-personal possibilities and ideals vibrates deep within you right now, and yet so does your sense of earthly responsibility.

You have allies, however, in friends, associates, groups and a larger-than-life sense of The Collective that can give you a different, even rebellious perspective. They might even help you find unexpected freedom within the challenges facing you, by discovering a higher purpose that gives your struggles new meaning.

TAURUS

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 1st House of self, outer personality, appearance, vitality and self-assertion.)

This is your Full Moon, Taurus, since it takes place in your sign! It will therefore bring special lessons about how to tap into your sensual, methodical and determined nature. What began at the New Moon was a need to sort out the practical responsibilities of your everyday life from the agenda of your Higher Self, possibly playing out in the area of close relationships (like partner or family). This is very much in focus now.

These issues hinge on the question of how best to use your assertive, proactive energy and drive. Whether you are defending your "territory," or dealing with a financial predicament, or struggling with intimacy issues with your partner, there are forces surrounding you that complicate matters. On one hand, there may be responsibilities, obligations and limitations that interfere with your ability to fully focus on your own agenda. On the other hand, there seems to be the promise of greater achievement if you can only leave behind the demands of everyday life, which is probably not an option.

The question is: how do you bring all these possibilities into a functioning, cooperative whole? The answer begins with patience, which you might be surprisingly lacking or lost in right now. It might help to know that this really is a very complex situation (it's not "just you"). It requires you to bring together the physical and the spiritual, which can be a difficult task at the best of times.

Finding simple, personal meaning in the intricate interactions and responsibilities that you encounter will help to cushion the frustration you might be feeling. It may also help to look within, to learn the deeper nature of your difficulty with authority and responsibility, which can help to minimise the feeling that it's all happening TO you. You know how to take things one step at a time. This may be a longer journey than you might have anticipated, but it will also bring greater rewards than you expected.

GEMINI

For NEW MOON in Scorpio

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(Takes place in your 6th House of work and service (paid or volunteer), health and healing, analysis and organisation, and your contribution to the world.)

Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest in the areas of work, health, communication, self-image and spiritual meaning.

Specifically, you may be faced with resolving conflicts between physical health and spiritual health, or between the demands of everyday routines and the need to move forward a higher purpose. The whole question of meaning—what are you doing all this for—permeates this cycle, as you try to balance your idealistic visions with practical common sense.

The urge to make dramatic changes in your life's direction is strong now, but you also see problems with this—and in fact, the coming cycle may require you to reconsider the wisdom or scope those ambitions. But this is not about giving up, because it is the inspiration of those greater goals that can keep you optimistic about the future.

Refinement of that vision, and reconnecting with your passion for it, can be supported by others who are close to you (spouse/partner, close friends, etc.). Interactions with others may challenge you and sometimes make you wonder if they are friend or foe, but your encounters with them have a gift of insight and wisdom if you can centre yourself within the "big picture" and not get lost in the details.

GEMINI

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 12th house of spirituality, compassion, isolation, inner focus, meditation, escapism, addiction, and universal love and beauty.)

What began at the New Moon was a quest to find meaning, vision and purpose in the everyday routines in your life, as well as reconsidering the ambitions you have held. This is very much in focus now. There are undercurrents in your current situation(s) that could make it difficult to get a clear focus on what is really happening. In particular, your close relationships (partner, family, close friends, etc.) may be going through an awkward time.

It is a time when unconscious anger or hidden agendas may be affecting your interactions, but difficult to identify or respond to without making things worse. What will help is to fall back on tried and true, grounded avenues of communication, or else to simply use restraint and discipline to avoid conflicts. Although this might seem to drive the problem further underground, that may not be an entirely bad thing since it can give everyone involved a chance to figure out what it all means for them.

As this process unfolds over the next few weeks, there is a need to explore a greater scope of meaning and understanding, which may not be easily visible from a more straightforward viewpoint. That doesn't mean one view is right and the other wrong. It does mean that there's more than one level of energy moving through you, and your job for now is to explore ways to bridge the gap between them.

You may discover that this larger struggle is the source of much of the background anger, frustration, impatience or defensiveness in your current relationship issues. Cultivating a deeper awareness of these energies (and avoiding reflexive reactions) can help point you in a positive direction for exploring this macrocosm and microcosm of meaning.

CANCER

For NEW MOON in Scorpio

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 5th House of identity, individuality, selfhood, children, fun, love affairs, creative self-expression and "joi de vivre.")

Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest in the areas of creative projects, fun, children and your own Inner Child.

There is a challenge before you, which is about resolving conflicts of interest between your own desires and the demands of The Collective (friends, associates, groups, community, humanity). There may be a gap in others' needs that you feel pressured to fill, and yet you may not realistically have the resources to do so.

Your instinct may be to protect yourself by presenting a rather inflexible face to those who would demand your participation. Yet, there is the struggle about whether to do this dispassionately and authoritatively, or to do it passively and indirectly—either approach has its benefits and drawbacks.

Your strongest ally in this is your sources of inspiration, meaning and understanding. This could come in the form of a teacher, spiritual advisor, supportive community or your personal connection to the Universe. You may not be sure if this ally's guidance is always entirely wise, but it can feed your spirit with hope and an escape hatch from the pressures elsewhere in your life.

CANCER

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 11th House of friends, peers, colleagues and co-workers, groups, organisations, community at large and vision of the future.)

What began at the New Moon was the need to reach a better balance between your needs and priorities and those of others, possibly with the (sometimes helpful?) support of an advisor, friend or other ally. This is very much in focus now.

On one hand, friends, associates and community are valuable resources now who can teach you about acceptance of "what is" and who may be able to fill in some gaps in your need for closeness. On the other hand, there may be conflicts, doubts, demands or reconsiderations to deal with that complicate your alliance with others; possibly disagreements about finances or conflicts of interest. You might feel compelled to provide support to someone, but not be able to do it without sacrificing your own resources. Or, you might need to confront someone about something that's bothering you, but may not want to be "the pot calling the kettle black."

There is a deeper process at work here, which will evolve and unfold over the next year or so. It involves taking a serious look at what you invest your identity in, and learning to validate your self-worth while lessening your dependence on external circumstances, "things" and approval-seeking to boost your self-esteem. At the same time, you may need to confront your idealism (or cynicism) about empowerment in yourself and others—that it is not necessarily about "sweetness and light," but neither does it have to be a sea-monster that will consume you.

If you look at your current relationships, interactions, and take a deeper look at the ideals that motivate you to provide support to other people, you may see some of these larger issues at work behind the scenes. For now it is enough to cultivate awareness, and you'll likely be more ready to apply this in December and January.

LEO

For NEW MOON in Scorpio

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 4th House of family, Father, childhood, home base, need for nurturing, security and belonging, and the past.)

Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest in the areas of family and those you feel a kinship with.

You might feel a conflict between your need for support versus the risks and actions you must take if you are to move forward in your life direction. Right now it may seem like you're stuck in your ambitions, leaving you feeling an even stronger need for refuge, inspiration and hope from your support system and "family" (by birth or by choice).

This tendency to seek a connection to something greater than yourself through interactions with other people is both a dilemma and a blessing. Other people are subject to the same limitations, imperfections and vulnerabilities that you are. And yet, as the Alien says in the movie Contact, "In all our searching, the only thing we've found that makes the emptiness bearable is each other."

Surprisingly, one of your greatest strengths right now is to realise that it is within our darkest "shadow" that we also find our greatest gifts—transforming our darkness through liberating illumination and awareness. This is a long term process and not to be taken lightly, but neither is it to become stuck in despair, guilt or paralysis. Keep your eyes on the prize and allow the process to transform you.

LEO

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(In your solar 10th House of career, goals, ambitions, authority, public recognition, Mother, social reputation and roles in society.)

What began at the New Moon was a process of trying to get moving with your career, goals and ambitions, but also feeling the need to stay safely in what is familiar and nurturing, and starting to shine a light into your inner darkness to find deeper answers. This is very much in focus now.

Taking a methodical, structured approach to your goals and ambitions can be very helpful right now. It may seem like forward movement isn't possible, and while there may be some truth in that, it doesn't necessarily mean you're just spinning your wheels in the mud. In fact, any delays or road blocks are part of a larger process of learning to find a new balance between who you are in your own right and what others bring out in you. This process will unfold and evolving over the next year or so, in which you are challenged to take back some of your own qualities that you project onto other people—both good and bad.

For now, this is focused on your attempts to move forward in your ambitions, and you might begin to either doubt your abilities or believe that you must harden yourself and conform to necessities in order to succeed. Although your conclusions may or may not be true the situation is probably temporary, and is in fact an opportunity to shave your plans down to a more efficient essence which can be applied starting in December or January.

For now, it may be necessary to backtrack a bit in terms of your purpose of where you're going and why you want to get there. There is more information and awareness to discover over the next few weeks that will help you balance discipline with vision and humility with confidence.

VIRGO

For NEW MOON in Scorpio

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 3rd House of intellect, communication, ideas, perceptions, learning, neighbours, commerce, short-distance travel, and information exchange.)

Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest in the areas of basic information and communication versus the meaning and purpose within them.

This is also a need to find a higher purpose for the contributions you make to the world. And yet you might be feeling that it is impossible to raise up concrete, rational reality to the idealistic spiritual heights that you're aiming for. You are in a dilemma of trying to find the mystical in the manifest and the mundane in the sublime—which is not an easy task!

Communicating with intimate others (spouse, partner, close friends, etc.) can be enlightening and liberating, although you, your family or support system may question their wisdom, finding it a bit too radical or idealistic. Or you might simply find close relationships to be a welcome diversion from the hard work you're doing.

However, you might feel restless because taking the time seems like it's taking energy away from other things. It's probably not—it's more likely an old piece of leftover conditioning echoing from your childhood (e.g., "Work, work, work!"). Don't let the "big picture" intimidate you. The process will unfold in its own time.

VIRGO

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 9th House of spirituality, beliefs, truth-seeking, justice, philosophy, knowledge, teaching/learning, publishing, long-distance travel, foreign lands and languages, and multiculturalism.)

What began at the New Moon challenged you to engage the mystical in your worldly contributions, and to find concrete manifestations of the spiritual. This is very much in focus now. This quest may seem a bit out of reach lately, since you might be having to deal with immediate and day-to-day problems and concerns, and the greater spiritual connection may seem to get lost in the shuffle.

Yet, the presence of something greater than yourself still calls loudly. If you feel like you're drifting away from it and you get too hard on yourself (or on others), it could bring up some latent guilt or depression. Be gentle with yourself. Your strongest resource right now will come from retreating from the limelight to take some alone time or to put yourself in a receptive listening mode for a while. This can give you a more manageable opportunity to explore the ways that meaning and wisdom can be found in simple, everyday things.

You might have to rethink recent changes or plans to do with your home, or there may be unfinished business to reconsider about your family, home or support system, or you may find it necessary to spend some time at home or nurturing yourself over the next few weeks. These kinds of activities and situations can help shed some inner light on the larger issue of reaching for a better connection to meaning, knowledge, understanding and your belief system.

This is the beginning of a long-term process over the next year or so, and this phase will unfold in layers through December and January. Don't try to push the river—the river will carry you to where you need to go in its own time.

LIBRA

For NEW MOON in Scorpio

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(Takes place in your 2nd House of finances, income, expenses, possessions, resources, self-worth, and material security and values.)

Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest in the areas of finances and resources, intensity, self-worth and the ideals you hold about who you are. What you "have" (in material, emotional and spiritual wealth) is at the centre of a struggle to assert yourself while using the least amount of aggressive force.

It can be tempting to equate your self-worth with your material worth. Although abundance can certainly make you feel more secure (and is, to some extent, necessary for survival), it's usually not wise to attach your values and self-esteem to what you "have" or "have not." You might feel a bit on the defensive, if you think that others want what you have, or if you feel that you've fallen short of the standards of adequacy set by society or your peer group.

You now have increased ability to expand your resources and economic confidence, although your urge or need to spend it (literally or figuratively) may also increase. What might seem like restriction, tension or control right now could well have a hidden benefit of helping you keep your income/spending and giving/receiving in balance.

Awareness of motives and hidden agendas (especially yours) is key to maintaining that balance. It's also important to listen to the undercurrents of your situation and speak to the "big picture" of truth in your heart, when you communicate about these issues. Your communication can be very powerful now, so use it wisely.

LIBRA

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 8th House of power, empowerment, control, intensity, deep psychology, transformation, death/rebirth, the occult, secrets and resources from other people.)

What began at the New Moon was a need to create a balance between budgeting and spending, between your material worth and your personal self-worth, and between outer tension and inner motives. This is very much in focus now.

You may be feeling a lot of that tension now, possibly in response to expectations or demands from friends, associates or group pressure. This may conflict or polarize with your creative spirit (artistic or otherwise) that wants to be free to aspire to your greatest heights, but there is also the need to satisfy certain practical considerations which may seem to put a damper on your creative inspiration.

You may have to rethink or reconsider the way you communicate or express yourself, which may seem sluggish, confused or scattered for a few weeks. It will help to slow down and explore "inner space" for a while. Although this might be frustrating to the part of you that wants to move ahead, it will go a long way to satisfy those practical requirements. Family, associates, loved ones and other support people may be able to encourage and affirm your motivation and enthusiasm that might feel a bit blocked, struggling or stuck lately.

There is great potential to manifest something creative, artistic, fun and/or inspiring, if you can keep from getting stuck in a vicious circle of frustration, inhibition and idealism, AND if you allow yourself more time to achieve this than you expected. Setbacks and detours are a natural and normal part of any evolution process. In the meantime, be gentle with yourself, spend some time close to home base, and nurture yourself with people and activities that are familiar and give you comfort.

SCORPIO

For NEW MOON in Scorpio

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(Takes place in your 1st House of self, outer personality, appearance, vitality and self-assertion.)

This is your New Moon, Scorpio, since it takes place in your sign. Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest in the areas of your personal desires and feelings versus the agendas and motives of others. You may also be struggling to be self-sufficient and successful but also grappling with a (secret?) longing to be taken care of by the Universe.

You have plenty of resources to assist you in this quest, as well as newly regenerated confidence and vision to guide you. However, it can get complicated when all these different factions in your life want to fight over how to divide up your time, energy, inspiration and determination.

One of the resources you have now is a more philosophical perspective that can contribute a sense of meaning and spiritual integrity, as you find better ways to juggle all these different parts of your life. You may also find that by helping others find in-depth insight and meaning in their struggles—especially if they are similar to yours—you can illuminate your own path too.

It is your creativity and sense of purpose that can provide an outlet for this creative tension, by breaking free of unhealthy obsession and allowing yourself to dream a little. You may feel concerned that this is not in the best interests of your finances, or you may have doubts that this liberating fun does much more than distract you from your true vision. But you need an escape hatch from the tension and hard work you're doing, so try to schedule some time in for play and spontaneity.

SCORPIO

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 7th House of Significant Others, relationships, partnerships, inter-connectedness with others, style of interaction, and balance.)

What began at the New Moon was a process of learning to balance self-sufficiency with the need for nurturing, especially to feel like the Child of the Universe that you are, and finding creative outlets that could breathe new life into your sense of purpose. This is very much in focus now.

You are faced with the question of how to get what you need and want from other people, which might fall short of what you'd hoped. Conflicts and frustrations might emerge with them, possibly over money or values. It may help to put interactions with others on the back burner while you rediscover your own perceptions, integrity, values and vision, especially around finances. On the other hand, it can be an ideal time to explore new ways of interacting with others. However, you still have to deal with the practical demands of society and your personal ambitions.

You may need to confront old illusions and ideals about your need for support and nurturing, perhaps including the feeling that you didn't (or don't now) have enough of it. On one hand, it may seem unfair or impossible for you to have to build something concrete in your life when you lack a sufficient support system, and this could trigger some resentment or disappointment that those close to you can't or won't provide what you want. On the other hand, you do have more of a creative and spiritual heritage to draw on than you might think, which can enable you to reinvent yourself in creative ways that aren't as restrictive as you fear.

If others aren't cooperating the way you'd hoped, this could actually be a hidden blessing that gives you the push you need to draw on your own inspiration and resources. This is a process that will evolve over the coming year or so, with the current phase unfolding through December and January.

SAGITTARIUS

For NEW MOON in Scorpio

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(Takes place in your 12th house of spirituality, compassion, solitude, privacy, alone time, inner focus, meditation, escapism, addiction, and universal love and beauty.)

Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest in the areas of spiritual transformation versus everyday work and health. It also affects issues of communication and information versus how you interpret and apply that information.

In many ways, this cycle is about trying to integrate and work with spirituality in all of its many facets. There is your personal connection to the Universe and Spiritual Source, but there is also how you apply that in the world through service and simple actions. There is inspired awareness and sensitivity to the Infinite, as well as the system of morals, rules, standards and doctrine that can be formed out of raw belief and principles.

How to integrate them all into a working whole without trivialising or dismissing any of them? There is a creative tension that permeates your experience of these areas right now. While you might grasp the importance of this process, there is also a risk of falling into obsession about it and neglecting to stay balanced while doing this work.

It will help to allow self-care to be a welcome diversion or vacation from the hard work you're doing. If your self-talk complains that this isn't part of the Great Plan, or that you are indulging too much in reckless abandon and ignoring your focus on a higher level of Truth, remember that it doesn't have to be either-or. You can have your Truth and abandon too.

SAGITTARIUS

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 6th House of work and service, paid or volunteer, health and healing, analysis and organisation, and your contribution to the world.)

What began at the New Moon was an exploration of spirituality, morality, principles and beliefs in their many facets, and a quest to find a new way to integrate them all, especially in terms of how to apply them in concrete ways through service and worldly contribution. This is very much in focus now.

You might feel a bit torn between wanting to melt and merge into a spiritual, creative, dreamy space, and wanting to bring the essence of that experience into your day-to-day life and work. Your attempts to manifest this in concrete ways may only seem to spin your wheels in the mud or take you on a detour away from your chosen direction. Or, you might find you are able to experiment with different ways of connecting your work, health, service and daily routines with something greater than yourself, but perhaps you haven't yet arrived at a permanent workable solution.

There is a much larger process unfolding here that requires a longer-term and deeper exploration over the coming year or so. The current phase will develop throughout December and January, involving a revaluation of what constitutes "spiritual" for you and what it actually means to bring it into physical experience.

This may be partly triggered by new, unexpected or unusual insights and opportunities, which could disrupt your conscious idea of what "something greater than yourself" is supposed to be. However, there is a part of you that understands this new perspective and welcomes it. This part of you knows that one's deepest connection to the Universe is often shrouded in mystery, and that the Universe doesn't guarantee fairy tale endings, although it does promise growth. All these different facets of the spiritual are manifesting in your life. Strive to be open to all of them.

CAPRICORN

For NEW MOON in Scorpio

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(Takes place in your 11th House of friends, peers, colleagues, associates, co-workers, groups, organisations, community at large, and vision and hopes for the future.)

Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest in issues about "the needs of many versus the needs of the one" (to borrow from Star Trek's Mr. Spock). You may also be debating the use of control as a means of power versus relaxing your control to facilitate a more open flow of resources.

There's a lot going on under the surface and behind the scenes for you right now. On the surface you may have struggles with your children, creative projects or bring fun into your life. Perhaps you feel a bit defensive and want to protect yourself by detaching or walling yourself off. You are in a position to expand and rejuvenate your involvement with The Collective (friends, associates, organisations, groups or large community), but you may feel frustrated because you're not sure what steps to take.

How to empower yourself? Controlled discipline may get you on track, but could suppress the very self-affirmation you seek to strengthen. Letting go of control may relieve a lot of stress, but you won't know what you "have" to draw on (finances, resources, self-worth, etc.) when you need to fuel your actions.

Don't dismiss "letting go" too quickly though—there are valuable information and resources to be found by exploring this more closely, especially if you allow yourself to be open to your intuition. Answers may come in surprising or unexpected ways.

CAPRICORN

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 5th House of identity, individuality, selfhood, children, fun, love affairs, creative self-expression and joi de vivre.)

What began at the New Moon was a struggle to find empowerment by establishing a better balance between hard work and rest, between controlled discipline and giving yourself a break, and between striving for predictable results versus being open to spontaneous opportunities. This is very much in focus now.

Your creative fire may be burning a little low lately. Either your inspiration has temporarily run dry, or else your creative ideas aren't fully formed enough to act on them yet. However, by taking time out to give your mind a rest, or by going within to clear your mind and refocus your vision, you are actually strengthening your empowerment (despite concerns to the contrary).

On one hand you know how to apply the discipline and hard work necessary to make deep changes in your life. On the other hand, you may have to go on faith and rely on intangible (and possibly unreliable) sources of support, information and inspiration. This may leave you feeling unsure of how to proceed without a concrete plan, compelling you to try unfamiliar or unclear ways to motivate yourself and make progress.

You know how to attract and develop what you want, but somehow this doesn't satisfy the part of you that believes only in concrete work to produce deserved rewards. You're able to access inner inspiration and intuitive ideas, but may not know how to convert these into decisive action. The result could feel like trying to drive with the brakes on...or it might make you all the more determined but frustrated at having to tread uncertain ground. All these factors are valid and valuable, and it will help to spend the next few weeks learning how to integrate them all, even if they are awkward allies initially. Over the coming year or so, you'll discover they have more in common than you think.

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(In your solar 10th House of career, goals, ambitions, authority, public recognition, Mother, social reputation and roles in society.)

Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest in the areas of ambitions and life direction versus how to take action from a grass roots level, as well as the ideals you hold about individuality versus the compromises and restrictions that are necessary in order to maintain healthy close relationships.

You may be trying to figure out how to transform your plans and goals into action, but feeling delayed, held back or stalemated. However, you have a new asset in the form of a new sense of vision and the determination to manifest it.

This may first bring new insights and possibilities beyond your original plan that you'll want to explore. Hence, any delays are as much a blessing as they are a frustration. A teacher, mentor, therapist or advisor may be able to help you explore these new possibilities.

It's likely you will find the material resources and spiritual support you need for projects, ambitions, career moves and taking on new responsibilities—and actually, they might even find their way to you. You may get the impulse to go on a spending spree, which helps to give you a break from all that creative tension in your life right now that is demanding much sustained hard work. Just don't blow your budget too badly. ;-)

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 4th House of family, Father, childhood, home base, need for nurturing, security and belonging, and the past.)

What began at the New Moon was a challenge to bring your goals into action, yet encountering delays, detours or blocks that contained hidden and surprising advantages and vision. This is very much in focus now.

There is much that is in a state of flux right now, and it might seem as if your goals and vision will never come together. In particular, finances, resources, values, self-worth and your sense of spiritual uniqueness may be undergoing a somewhat chaotic but liberating change of perspective. It is time to manifest the next step in your goals, ambitions and vision, although you might feel like you're tripping over your feet. It is possible to move forward now in small steps, but even steps backward can serve to bring you to a better path.

You may need to rethink the "big picture" of your vision, as well as your role and relationship with friends, associates and groups. Doing so can actually bring some practical stability to your relationships, and help to balance this with your personal spiritual growth which may be somehow at odds with each other. This need for rebalancing could be somewhat disruptive to your home life or may bring up old unresolved issues from the past, forcing you to find new ways to do things that are usually automatic and straightforward.

Although this might feel frustrating or discouraging, it is actually bringing you into a process of greater learning over the coming year, with this beginning phase unfolding through December and January. It will challenge you to rebalance your commitment and accountability to others against your own spiritual mandate to fulfil and manifest the essential source of who you are. For now, your job is to unlearn old automatic responses to make room for new learning later.

PISCES

For NEW MOON in Scorpio

November 1 to December 1, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 9th House of spirituality, beliefs, truth-seeking, justice, philosophy, knowledge, teaching/learning, publishing, long-distance travel, foreign lands and languages, and multiculturalism.)

Although this cycle is ultimately about empowerment and transformation (as described in The Low-Down on The Far Out), it is likely to manifest in the search for truth and meaning versus the primal urges that are part of our human makeup.

In addition, there is also a struggle between how to attain a conscious, rational experience of the mystical (isn't that a contradiction in terms??) versus practical application of your individuality in service to...what? Just whom or what do you serve and owe your loyalty to? That seems to be the question, Pisces. The answer is a complex one which you will explore over the coming months.

You have two special resources on this journey. One is a new spiritual focus that will bring new opportunities to broaden your horizons and illuminate your passion. This year long influence could bring a new teacher, mentor, therapist or spiritual guide into your life, or encourage you to take that kind of role with someone else.

The other is the impulse to occasionally break free of all the angst and soul searching by allowing a divine comedy and spontaneity to sweep you away. This might seem counter-productive or distracting but it is also a sanity-saver that can blow off some steam while you work hard to understand how to integrate the more sombre elements of truth, meaning, service and the sacred into your life.

PISCES

For FULL MOON in TAURUS

November 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 3rd House of intellect, communication, ideas, perceptions, learning, neighbours, commerce, short-distance travel, and information exchange.)

What began at the New Moon was a mystical riddle asking you to discover and explore new ways to bring the spiritual and the material together, thereby learning more about the forces greater than yourself that feed your passion and bliss. This is very much in focus now. There is a need to attend to practical duties and demands, even though this seems to take time and focus away from your need to commune quietly and privately with a sense of Universal Oneness.

Trying to bring these two agendas into a conscious, deliberate balance might leave you feeling like your mind and mouth are stumbling in circles. However, there can be a kind of divine madness in unintentional blunders which may reveal an underlying truth that would otherwise be censored by the conscious mind.

Although you may have moments of confusion and frustration, having to retrace your steps, there are new insights to be found if you are open to them. Disguised as problems, these frustrations are actually giving you a subtle glimpse into the mysterious in-between spaces that bridge the gap between the physical and non-physical, the rational and non-rational, and the practical and the sacred. Powerful growth can occur in these transitional spaces.

What seems like backtracking or roadblocks actually gives you a chance to rethink the vision of your goals and aspirations, and to revaluate how much you are required to fulfil the expectations of others. There is a longer-term process unfolding that may currently feel like a "tug of war" between your earthly responsibilities and your cosmic mandate to find new ways to manifest the essence of who you are. Automatic defensive reactions can be counterproductive, but delayed action can give you a chance to unhook yourself from those reactions and plan a more methodical approach to balance these conflicting agendas.
