ARIES

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 9th House of spirituality, beliefs, truth-seeking, justice, philosophy, knowledge, teaching/learning, publishing, long-distance travel, foreign lands and languages, and multiculturalism.)

There are several dynamics active during this cycle. There is the impulse to act on your own best interests (or at least what you SEE AS your best interests). Then there is the quest to find a spiritual perspective and Higher Truth beyond the surface of counterproductive behaviour and desires. ("Spiritual" could mean religious beliefs, non-physical aspects of life, your evolving philosophical perspective, or the meaning that you derive from your experiences.)

There is a need to bring these two into better balance so that you don't get stuck in reflexive (over)reaction or an automatic "shame-blame game" (especially against yourself). Then there are circumstances and life situations that may feel like they're cramping your style (although they're actually trying to strengthen you through discipline and trimming the "fat"). There are higher ideals and priorities that may conflict with practical necessities.

Lurking underneath it all may be issues about powerlessness and control, which may evoke reactions of rebellion, fear, resentment or obsessed determination. Although this might seem like a huge mess that only gets further entangled the more you try to free yourself, the very issues you're trying to escape can actually help your situation. That discipline and limitation can lend a lot of stability to the flux, and the higher morals and ideals that you're trying to live up to can be a guiding light (rather than a spotlight that makes you feel like you're in one of those naked-in-public dreams).

Listening to the "still small voice" of your intuitive insight can shed light on the Big Picture, which can give you a better perspective on how best to respond (rather than just react).

ARIES

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 3rd House of intellect, communication, ideas, perceptions, learning, neighbours, commerce, short-distance travel, and information exchange.)

You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You may also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a good time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

You are juggling a lot of intense, powerful and potentially volatile energy right now. For one thing, all the issues you've been working with during the Mars retrograde phase (Oct.01 to Dec.09) are now coming back around to be resolved, integrated and dealt with in a new way, based on what you've learned during those two months. Affected areas include finances, self-worth and taking action to further your ambitions and goals.

Issues of discipline, discretion and pacing yourself continue to impact the way you empower yourself and the results you're likely to get. Although you might feel pressured to "just do something!" you will do better to pick and choose how to respond to the challenges before you. If you just fight against authority and obstacles, you could wind up giving your power away or being over-controlling, through short-sightedness or speaking too impulsively. Better to harness that energy within a grounded perspective, taking carefully considered steps forward that reflect a focused empowerment that comes from within.

It is a good time to break free from old assumptions and wishes that no longer fit your current direction. The idea is to act from your inner vision and individuality, not be reactive or reckless. You have tremendous potential right now for either great healing or escalating the problems. Stay focused on your highest principles and your clearest inner truth to guide you.

TAURUS

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 8th House of power, empowerment, control, intensity, deep psychology, death, rebirth, transformation and sexuality.)

There are several dynamics active during this cycle. With your ruling planet Venus about to go retrograde later this month, you are preparing to revaluate your values, beliefs and how committed you are to applying your principles in your ambitions and goals. In addition, with Mars retrograde in your sign, you may be feeling either stuck or over-stimulated or both, and it's possible you feel others don't understand what that feels like for you or why it's happening.

There may also be conflict between the ambitions and necessities that stem from your family roots or your past (childhood, ancestry, etc.) versus the ideal vision of what you want to achieve in your life. The needs of one may interfere with your ability to fulfil the other. It may feel like you're stick in a rut, but if you hang in there and work with the struggle, you should be able to bring some healing to it by later in the cycle.

Friends, groups, community and detached intuition can help to release any tension you have with those close to you (e.g., spouse, partner, mentor, teacher, spiritual advisor or therapist). However, your friends or your own intuition may also trigger issues about empowerment, and it will help to find new ways to respond in a way that enlightens and transforms everyone's understanding of the situation (not just fight-or-flight reactions). There is a need to find harmony, peace and support through stability, structure and conventional principles, although you will need to be very grounded and centred for this to support your quest for transformative empowerment.

Your intuitive awareness can be a strong ally right now, especially by listening between the words when talking with those close to you, and by being alert to the ways that miscommunications can occur. Your family and your past, although not without its challenges, can also provide some much needed stability.

TAURUS

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 2nd House of finances, income, expenses, possessions, resources, self-worth, and material security and values.)

You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You may also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a good time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

It might be hard to keep your mouth shut when you see injustice, unfairness or injury being done. Your outlook is likely to be one that seeks healing and reconciliation, which will require focused effort to push forward through a storm of pressure, conflict or obstacles. That "storm" includes the need to deal with authority, necessity, discipline and responsibility. This might be instigated or challenged by others who have a different opinion of the best way to go about it.

This is a situation you've been working with for a few weeks now, and it is time to start taking some action in carefully considered steps. Acting decisively is good, but impulsively doing "just anything" will bring "just any" results too, and less likely to be what you want. The pivot point lies in embracing the potential for empowerment and transformation, which are essentially complicated words for change with broad implications and consequences.

Dealing with the compelling demands of others AND ensuring that your own interests are spoken for, may be a bit like walking a razor's edge right now. Stay focused on the Big Picture and act from your highest principles and clearest understanding, to help you stay on track. Friends, associates, advisors, community and detached intuition can provide some release and relief from tension with others and keep you from getting stuck in a rut. Great healing can come from this situation, if you shed old expectations to allow for new growth, rather than simply rebelling against the status quo.

GEMINI

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 7th House of love, balance, harmony, close relationships, marriage, partnership, inter-connectedness with others, style of interaction, lovers and adversaries.)

There are several dynamics active during this cycle, which could become active especially in the area of work, health and relationships, and which might include co-workers, business partners, health practitioners, therapists, mentors and/or advisors.

Your initial perceptions and communication in these areas might be a bit thorny, but if you stay focused on what's important at the deepest level, you won't go far wrong. In fact, doing so can help stabilise any power issues in relationships that require you to act in subtle, invisible or intuitive ways. It may be necessary to act on faith or fly blind, balanced against the need to consciously bring higher principles and depth of purpose to your efforts. You may have to filter your communication and self-expression through discretion and conventionality, and yet there is also a need to break free of conventional meaning and ideals in what you express—a challenging combination but not impossible.

You are called upon to take the friction generated by these conflicting agendas, and channel them creatively into a new vision of where you are going and what you want to achieve. This will ultimately require a lot of hard work, and you may not be able to control the specific results—you may have your own agenda but the Universe has its agenda for you too.

But you can't go backwards, and moving forward in the same old way isn't a realistic option. The only thing left to do is to take that leap of faith...carefully. This does NOT mean being reckless, but it does mean you can't afford to let yourself get bogged down in (over)caution or to let uncertainty paralyze you. Your direction will likely become clearer over the coming week or so, as Mercury goes Direct.

GEMINI

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 1st House of self, outer personality, appearance, vitality and self-assertion.)

This is your Full Moon, Gemini, since it takes place in your sign, which means you will be especially affected by its energy. You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You might also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a good time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

The vision that others have for you and your life may loom large right now, possibly instigating a power struggle over who gets to define what is in your best interests. You could feel a bit overwhelmed and resentful of the assumptions or expectations put on you by others, resulting in a reactive "cold war" power struggle with them. Or, you might perceive a promising vision of wisdom, faith and spiritual healing through others, yet doubt your ability to hold up your end of the bargain in order to fulfil it.

This is a complicated and delicate situation, in which you have much to gain but also much to lose. Your best strength lies in relationships that feed and heal your spirit, be they friends, lovers, groups or organisations. You could also benefit by learning a kind of gentle detachment and perspective that helps you separate from old difficulties by simply letting go (rather than hurling them away or running away in anger or fear).

Keeping your goals, vision and ambitious dreams in focus can help you keep a light at the end of the tunnel, to guide you through this time. In fact, much of your tension, stress, struggle and conflict can provide powerful fuel for new projects, career ambitions and to further your goals. There's an energy of creative genius that can be harnessed resourcefully from your current struggles.

CANCER

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 6th House of work and service—paid or volunteer—health and healing, analysis and organisation, and your contribution to the world.)

There are several dynamics active during this cycle. On one hand there is an opportunity to expand your involvement with children, creative projects, self-expression and the growth of your identity, as well as bringing higher principles and purpose to these areas. On the other hand, this could run into trouble as you try to "think globally but act locally"—to speak to a broader vision of possibilities while also attending to more immediate needs.

"Acting locally" means dealing with your immediate environment and personal needs (including financial and material), which may seem mundane or trivial but cannot be ignored or dismissed. "Thinking globally" involves a quest of bringing higher principles and a broader perspective to situations where your good intentions could get stuck in ego attachments and control issues.

One part of you might be trying to let go of the need to control, but in doing this you may fear becoming so detached that your personal needs and significance become lost in the shuffle. On the other hand, you may be trying to compensate with a more spiritual attitude, so that any ego-based needs you have become safely camouflaged within a larger context of good intentions. ("Spiritual" could mean religious beliefs, non-physical aspects of life, your evolving philosophical perspective, or the meaning that you derive from your experiences.) But one approach is not likely to erase the significance of the other, and the reality of both perspectives still needs to be acknowledged, worked through and integrated together.

This is a long-term process (a couple of months), requiring persistence and commitment, and runs deeper than you may realise, so don't be discouraged if you don't resolve it right away. Your greatest strength is to ground yourself in what you know, what you have and what is real. Being honest with yourself, as well as accepting of your human shortcomings, will help support this process of growth.

CANCER

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 12th house of spirituality, compassion, isolation, inner focus, meditation, escapism, addiction, and universal love and beauty.)

You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You might also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a good time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

Your intuitive awareness is especially sensitive and open right now—perhaps a bit more than you're comfortable with, as you pick up on intense undercurrents, including in the areas of work, health, service and anything you do to make a contribution to the world around you. Friendships and experience with groups can be energizing and motivating, but try to pace yourself if things get stressful. Understanding your personal influence within group activities will be helpful right now, whether that involves holiday get-togethers with friends, spiritual celebrations, work activities or therapeutic situations.

It is wise to be cautious and responsible about finances and possessions (don't overspend on holiday gifts!). Cancer is always sensitive to the importance of family, and any family tensions—common at this time of year—could feel especially difficult. Staying focused on the Big Picture can help, which means staying connected to your life outside of any stressful situations this month. Don't let yourself to get so locked into the tension that you can't step back, take a deep breath and let it go. If you get overwhelmed, find an excuse to take a breather or to limit your exposure to the stress.

All the work you've been doing for the past couple of years in developing better boundaries can be an important resource for you right now. Don't second-guess yourself about whether you deserve to take the space to de-stress—just do it...as gently as possible. Responsibilities will wait. And don't forget to enjoy yourself!

LEO

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 5th House of identity, individuality, selfhood, children, fun, love affairs, creative self-expression and "joi de vivre.")

There are several dynamics active during this cycle. You are called upon to reach for a broader vision of who you are and your creative potential, by shedding old expectations and beliefs that no longer serve you well. Ironically, your usual determination, ambition and drive could be a liability, since it might obscure the underlying value and purpose of the frustrations or limitations facing you.

That doesn't mean your ambition and determination are wrong! It means it may be necessary to hold back to wait for the developmental process to catch up. Or, you may need to prune back a bit to make room for new growth or to bring something under control. This could lead you to doubt your vision or your ability to manifest it. It may be tempting to gaze longingly at others who seem to embody the ideal of what you want to achieve, but this could be as discouraging as it is inspiring. And yet, inspiration, hope and a belief in possibilities are essential right now, to keep you from getting truly stuck.

It can be tempting to become divided between the hard reality of "what is" in your current life versus the shining potential and goals you're aiming for. You may tend to flip-flop between the two and get locked into an either-or, black-white, right-wrong, good-bad dynamic. It will likely take some time to find a balance point that allows both the hard realities AND the visionary possibilities to co-exist and work together.

You have two major strengths right now: One is that the icky hard work can actually help to stabilise, structure and develop your aspirations and goals. The other is to open yourself to the deeper process of transformation that is happening under the surface in your life, which may be awakening new creative inspiration from your sleeping unconscious in unexpected ways.

LEO

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 11th House of friends, peers, colleagues and co-workers, groups, organisations, community at large and vision of the future.)

You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You might also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a good time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

You have an opportunity to take a further step in your personal transformation, although it might feel more like irritation, intensity and conflict. But be alert to new insights, new awareness and new perspectives on old situations. You may discover that there's something unspoken that no one wants to talk about (e.g., in group situations or with friends), or something that you've been trying to skirt around something that now needs to be acknowledged and dealt with.

In fact, the underlying truth could come flying out more abruptly than intended, leaving you feeling either shaken or inspired (or both!) There is great potential to deal with this in a creative way, both artistically and innovatively, which can bring some release and relief from any tension between home and work, or between your familiar perspective and having to carve out new ways of dealing with issues out in the world.

Issues involving career, goals and asserting yourself as an authority can find empowerment and movement through well thought out risk taking and originality. Unfortunately, that's not likely to directly affect the delays, responsibilities, setbacks or caution you might be dealing with right now, but these hurdles could make you feel more pressured and stressed out about trying to achieve your goals. This stress can be channelled into creative innovation, calculated risk taking, and daring to step out on a limb to see a new perspective that had been previously hidden.

VIRGO

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 4th House of family, Father, childhood, home base, need for nurturing, security and belonging, and the past.)

There are several dynamics active during this cycle. You may be getting some encouragement, inspiration or advice (wanted or not) from family, loved ones or people in your support system. This might conflict with your own sense of what you need to do and how you should to do it, or you may not be able to take action right away.

Attempts to nail down or communicate your own perspective might not bring the results you hoped, or you might have to rely on your own decisions separate from your advisors and supporters. This may seem to distract from the ideals of collective cooperation and healing freedom you would like to accomplish. You might also be feeling a bit stuck behind the scenes, trying to develop and prepare your communication (e.g., writing), creative strategy or spiritual connection, but it may not be time to bring these out in the open just yet.

You are challenged to find a meaningful understanding and higher purpose in all this, and yet it may feel like all you really need to do is just cut through the nonsense and get on with it, which probably isn't possible right now in the way you'd like. There is still more information, insight and groundwork to prepare before you'll be ready to move forward fully and effectively.

Part of the delay is the need to find a deeper empower within yourself, so that you can take action in ways that are ethical, moral and wise, yet also effective, practical and straightforward—to act in ways that are consistent with your inner integrity and priorities. By the time Mercury and Mars go direct (Dec.03 and Dec.09), more doors will start to open up for you.

VIRGO

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(In your solar 10th House of career, goals, ambitions, authority, public recognition, Mother, social reputation and roles in society.)

You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You might also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

This is, however, a time when it may be necessary to put your truth and your observations "out there" for others to hear. It may feel more like you're being cornered into it than a voluntary choice, but you're probably more ready and capable than you think you are. For example, this might play out in family dynamics, where you might feel compelled to speak your mind in response to some family drama that's been driving you crazy. Or, it might emerge in your work, career or goals, where you feel the need to address behind-the-scenes politics.

Speaking your truth or presenting your perspective has a powerful potential right now to achieve healing, mediation, negotiation and mutual understanding. To do this, you might have to risk being a bit out of sync or detached from those close to you—although this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Since November you have worked on developing a meaningful and practical connection to something greater than yourself, including how to act on it in a way that honours that greater perspective but also addresses the practical necessities. (This continues into January.)

The energy generated by this struggle can find a creative, liberating and innovative outlet in close relationships. In fact, those close to you might introduce a radical new perspective that opens up unexpected possibilities. This might seem to interfere with your ability to reach that healing mediation, mentioned above, but it just means you'll have to think outside the box a little more than you expected to.

LIBRA

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 3rd House of intellect, communication, ideas, perceptions, learning, neighbours, commerce, short-distance travel, and information exchange.)

There are several dynamics active during this cycle, which will prepare for the upcoming Venus retrograde cycle (Dec.24 to Feb.03). This preparation will help you revaluate your home base, your support system, how/if your emotional needs are being met, and the ways your current life does or doesn't reflect your commitment to your true values.

This process begins now with a search to discover what your values really are—not just in terms of practical priorities, but moral, ethical, spiritual and emotional values as well. You may discover over the coming weeks that you have changed in these areas and your circumstances and choices need to change to stay in sync with them. In particular, you may experience some tension in financial and material issues and trying to balance these with the demands of others who have power over your purse strings.

You might find you have to expand your sense of self-worth and personal ethics in order to know how to make healing progress in issues involving sex, anger, power and assertiveness. Your friendships and/or involvement with groups may seem a bit unenlightened, dull or demanding compared to the vision of freedom and magical qualities you may be holding about individuality, joy and the creative spirit.

Surprisingly, one of your greatest strengths right now lies in being open to tearing down and letting go of old beliefs, values and ideals that are no longer in your best interest, even though it might seem like this could just create more turmoil. The idea is not to be reckless or rebellious, so much as lovingly detached and listening to your inner voice that can tell you how to bring long-term healing to your situation. These issues are not likely to reach final resolution quickly, so give yourself time and patience to work with them.

LIBRA

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 9th House of spirituality, beliefs, truth-seeking, justice, philosophy, knowledge, teaching/learning, publishing, long-distance travel, foreign lands and languages, and multiculturalism.)

You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You might also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

Your work with higher values, principles and priorities is in strong focus now, and there is a lot to juggle now, to bring it all into harmony and balance. It is necessary to deal with the intense undercurrents going on in your immediate environment, but especially it is important to find a sense of meaning and understanding about those undercurrents. This may be spurring you into finding better ways to assert your personal power, but in a way that balances gritty resolve with spiritual grace. Friends, associates, groups and community may provide the context within which this larger dynamic plays out.

This situation may conflict with a need to expand your resources (financial, material, spiritual or psychological), as well as possibly hindering the way you want to take action about it. It is also possible that your experience of self-assertion, anger or sexuality, and searching for the moral high road in expressing these, may be in conflict with society or the expectations of your community and friends.

All of this corresponds with a more complex issue of how you perhaps feel alienated from that community, or even how your friends help you to step outside of convention. The upcoming Venus retrograde will explore how you find existential meaning and balance both within and outside of conventional structures, and how this both heals and hinders your ability to express the true essence of who you are. Right now you have a chance to expand your awareness of the greater implications of these.

SCORPIO

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 2nd House of finances, income, expenses, possessions, resources, self-worth, and material security and values.)

There are several dynamics active during this cycle. Tensions persist around how to assert yourself in relationships without resorting to nuclear weapons. What's different is that now you are examining your deeper values and beliefs in response to this, which could either bring some balance to the situation or it might serve to up the ante and make you even more reactive. In particular, this is impacting your career ambitions and life goals, and how they grow out of the ideals and visions from your past, which is likely to be a long-term work over the coming year.

Your ability to articulate your perceptions and feelings about all this may be limited but gathering energy to be released and expressed in the coming weeks. All of this ultimately challenges you to examine your deep seated beliefs about your self-worth and how issues around money, possessions and resources have shaped those beliefs. This is likely to stimulate the need to take a stand for your personal Truth with others who might seem to threaten, challenge or make demands on your beliefs, principles and understanding.

However, this is the perfect time to "play the card" of individuality, freedom and liberation that you've been saving. This doesn't mean being reckless, rebellious or destructive, but to allow your intuitive sense of Self and creative inspiration to be a spiritual resource. ("Spiritual" could mean religious beliefs, non-physical aspects of life, your evolving philosophical perspective, or the meaning that you derive from your experiences.) And even though you might feel stuck, blocked or overburdened in your goals and ambitions, if you keep moving with these it can help stabilise your financial situation, which will help to keep negative beliefs about self-worth from mushrooming out of control. There is a lot of transition and transformation taking place this month, so take it one step at a time.

SCORPIO

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 8th House of power, empowerment, control, intensity, deep psychology, transformation, death/rebirth, the occult, secrets and resources from other people.)

You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You might also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

Finances, resources and material worth are all still in focus, and especially your need to empower yourself in these areas. Interaction with others who potentially hold power over you could be somewhat intense right now, as you struggle to gain understanding and perspective on the setbacks, delays, expectations, limitations or obstacles that you're facing in your career, goals and ambitions. At the same time, those close to you may light a match that sets new possibilities and ideas into motion in all of these areas. That "match" might come in the form of inspired motivation or a kick in the pants, or both!

Many of the actions and plans you've struggled to manifest over the past four months (in the Mars retrograde cycle) can now be put into practice, but your direction or motives have likely changed somewhat from where you started since late August. There is tremendous energy generated by all this stress and conflict, which can be channelled into inspired creativity and possibly liberate you from worrying about what others will think of your creation. This tension is also giving you a deeper perspective of the "spiritual" meaning you bring to your ambitions and goals, as well as forcing you to reach deep inside to access your instinctive wisdom from past experience.

New ideas and insights that have emerged recently about expanding your material and spiritual worth could bring healing support from friends, family and loved ones, who can help you find new value in your uniqueness. This is a longer-term process that will unfold over the coming 2-3 months.

SAGITTARIUS

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 1st House of self, outer personality, appearance, vitality and self-assertion.)

This is your New Moon, Sagittarius, since it takes place in your sign! There are several dynamics active during this cycle which will especially affect you, most of which revolve around re-examining, developing and applying your spiritual principles and beliefs.

On one hand, there is a new sense of spiritual connection and universal meaning coming up in you (pay special attention to your dreams), and there is a rising need to express this somehow (try music, dance, art, poetry, writing or prayer). On the other hand, you might feel forced to apply these cosmic blessings through conventional structures, mundane service and boring grunt work, which may seem to only dull its lustre and widen the already deep divide between the spiritual and material worlds.

By the way, "spiritual" could be your religious beliefs, or your experience of the non-physical aspects of life, or your expanding philosophical perspective on life, or the meaning that you derive from your experiences. Surprisingly, one of your best strengths right now is your "spiritual" inheritance from your past (e.g., family, ancestry, childhood, etc.), even though this might seem strange or at odds with your current beliefs, ethics or aspirations.

It will also help to be open to a connection to your "chosen family" (Significant Others you have gathered in your adult life) and the greater "Family of Humanity," which can help to reframe any disruption you might be experiencing lately in your home, family or emotional foundation. This can also give you a place to vent anger or frustration, and give you creative ideas for how to apply your spiritual awakening in simple forms of service, work and healing activities.

SAGITTARIUS

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 7th House of Significant Others, relationships, partnerships, inter-connectedness with others, style of interaction, and balance.)

You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You might also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

The dichotomy between the spiritual and material worlds may now be taking on a new polarity of "me versus you" or "us versus them" or "my subjective experience versus your observations." On the down side, this may manifest as a power struggle over differences in beliefs, perceptions, expectations or interpretation of experience. On the up side, this could also manifest a spiritual and psychological transformation that allows you to let go of toxic elements of your self-image. Close relationships play a significant part in this, possibly by providing insightful feedback or being a sounding board.

You might be struggling lately by trying to transform your belief system or philosophy of life, discovering what "feels right" because it arises naturally and intuitively, versus what you follow simply because it's the doctrine you've always followed or because it lets you fit more easily into conventional society. Somehow both need to be acknowledged and integrated, and each must also be purged of what doesn't work for you anymore.

The bottom line is: how effectively can you put your beliefs and perspective into practice in everyday life? If it's too conventional and not personal enough, it will lose its meaning and you'll just be going through the motions. If it's too "organic" or "out there," it could just make you feel out of touch with the world around you. Try exploring ideas that support your sacred uniqueness and connect you to your "chosen family," as well as whatever brings an existential peace and harmony to your mental focus.

CAPRICORN

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 12th house of spirituality, compassion, solitude, privacy, alone time, inner focus, meditation, escapism, addiction, and universal love and beauty.)

There are several dynamics active during this cycle. Much of this revolves around establishing stability, structure and practical application of your exploration of spirituality. "Spiritual" could mean religious beliefs, non-physical aspects of life, your evolving philosophical perspective, or the meaning that you derive from your experiences.

On one hand, your circle of friends, associates and involvement in groups and community are expanding or requiring that you approach them with a "higher" purpose or agenda. On the other hand, your ability to act on an individual level or to apply your personal creativity to these situations may be blocked, delayed, frustrating or unsatisfying.

Another axis in this dynamic is that you are working toward establishing a more solid structure of personal empowerment and a better balance of power with others, especially authority figures (or becoming one yourself). However, the resources, funds or concrete support you have to do this may seem elusive or ambiguous. You might also have so much wishful thinking about what you need and how it should come to you, that the reality of the manifested end result might seem anticlimactic and lack-lustre.

Surprisingly, your greatest strength right now lies in your inner sense of Self, "spiritual" purpose and intuitive vision. This can add a bit of perspective and sparkle to the hard work of building a better power base, without taking away from the realism and practicality needed to achieve it. Your other strength lies in dialoguing with friends, associates, groups and community. This can allow your spontaneous intuition and inspiration to emerge, and give you a broad enough look at the Big Picture that the hard work won't feel like a dead end alley.

CAPRICORN

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 6th House of work and service, paid or volunteer, health and healing, analysis and organisation, and your contribution to the world.)

You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You might also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

Your exploration of the "spiritual" (in whatever way that makes sense to you) has reached a point where it is time to take your learning and transform it into practical information, communication and applied theory. However, the creative and playful (yes, playful) part of you needs to have a say in all this too. If you get too rigid in your efforts to create empowerment, control and strength, you could find yourself feeling frustrated and short-tempered and then wonder why.

You have a vision of the future and it is this vision that your creative side is trying to respond to, whether that literally means some form of artistry or just taking an original, individual approach to your work. You might also be struggling with some perfectionism, where you believe that if your motives, values and attitudes aren't "pure" enough, you could lose control, act ineffectively or naively, and possibly disappoint your friends, associates and mentors. Although this may provide a strong motivation to move heaven and earth to manifest your vision, it could also become a trap that paralyzes you or generates far more stress than is necessary to achieve your goals.

Although it might seem counter-intuitive, a little disorder right now might be a good thing because it could move you out of the perfectionist rut and get you thinking outside the box with more innovative ideas. It can also be helpful to find a gentle acceptance that it's not the end of the world to have less-than-perfect finances, values, motives and material (and self) worth.

AQUARIUS

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 11th House of friends, peers, colleagues, associates, co-workers, groups, organisations, community at large, and vision and hopes for the future.)

There are several dynamics active during this cycle, largely focused on exploring and expanding your spiritual focus. "Spiritual" could mean religious beliefs, non-physical aspects of life, your evolving philosophical perspective, or the meaning that you derive from your experiences. Your best connection to these areas right now is likely to come through friends, associates, groups, community organisations, and especially through the long-term changes you've been undergoing lately in these areas.

In your personal and professional goals, you are called upon to expand your vision of a higher purpose and a deeper understanding of the possibilities, even though your ability to make immediate changes may be temporarily blocked or delayed. You may also need to restructure, prune back or take more responsibility in close relationships (personal or professional). Although you may be trying to reach a state of surrender to something greater than yourself (spiritual release), submitting to mundane realities may not be what you had in mind. In addition, it could be tempting to get stuck in a helpless mentality if this feels too burdensome or painful.

One of your greatest strengths right now lies in staying focused on your vision of where you want to go. Allow yourself to discover and utilize the supportive resources in your life, even if you have to invent new ways to use existing resources. Friends, associates and groups are likely an important piece of the puzzle now.

Your other strength ironically lies in having to take a serious approach in relationships. Although this may feel like the very source of the problem, complying with the requirements in this area can actually bring some much-needed stability to other areas of your life—if only because you have one less problem that you're fighting with!

AQUARIUS

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 5th House of identity, individuality, selfhood, children, fun, love affairs, creative self-expression and joi de vivre.)

You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You might also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

Latent tension and unresolved issues in your home life or your support system may now need to be addressed and dealt with. Both personal and professional partners may continue to pose resistance (to what may seem to them to be unrealistic ideals), or they might challenge you to build a more solid structure within which your dreams can grow.

This is a long-term developmental process (until next fall), although there is currently a new energy in the mix. This might play out in close relationships or in your approach to finances and personal values, but the essence is about finding a new way of dealing with human imperfection and issues that don't have a clear solution. This also includes cultivating a gentle self-acceptance that neither idealizes nor vilifies the fact that human beings are, by nature, an imperfect work in progress.

Over the next few months (during the Venus retrograde cycle), you will be exploring these issues, especially in your relationships, your sense of worth (material, spiritual and psychological), and your spiritual values and priorities. It will help to purge yourself of any judgements and biases you hold about these issues that stem from underlying issues. Doing so can be very empowering since you can't take in a new perspective when the old one is still in the way. It is important to find some way to express and honour your unique creativity and individuality – not to be reckless or reactive, but to find an inner centre of personal value from which to respond.

PISCES

For NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

December 1 to December 30, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 10th House of career, goals, ambitions, authority, public recognition, Mother, social reputation and roles in society.)

There are several dynamics active during this cycle, which revolve around expressing and applying a spiritual focus in new ways. "Spiritual" could mean religious beliefs, non-physical aspects of life, your evolving philosophical perspective, or the meaning that you derive from your experiences.

Your career and personal goals specifically are calling out for new inspiration and vision, but although you may have access to that new vision, it may not be easy to know how to apply it, express it or take action about it. In addition, you may be experiencing demands, delays, new responsibility or endings in the area of work and/or health, and this could make it hard to see the shining possibilities beyond the hard realities. This may be further complicated by a deep sense of longing to bring a higher purpose and Universal significance to your work and day-to-day life, which those hard realities seem to put a serious damper on.

However, you do have strengths in this situation. For one thing, a new spiritual awakening has been gradually unfolding in you for a couple of years, and this is something that can help you stay connected to the vision of possibilities and growth that may be hard to stay focused on right now. Taking a step back to a more detached perspective can also help minimise any over-reactions of frustration, anger, stubbornness or self-righteousness.

Your other strength right now, surprisingly, is the hard reality that may feel like it is the primary problem to begin with. By organising and planning out your aspirations in structured, manageable chunks (even if this seems boring or lack-lustre), this can actually go a long way to ground and stabilise your efforts to expand your horizon of possibilities. It will help to keep one eye on the prize and the other eye on the ground to keep from tripping over the unexpected.

PISCES

For FULL MOON in GEMINI

December 15, 2005

(Takes place in your solar 4th House of family, Father, childhood, home base, need for nurturing, security and belonging, and the past.)

You are now able to increase your awareness and understanding of the issues described at the New Moon. You might also be in a position to speak your truth as it reflects your new understanding of these issues. However, this is not a time to simply charge ahead into the minefield without some forethought, even though it could be very tempting to do just that.

You may feel the need to acknowledge and air out the unspoken dynamics in your situation. This may also bring up a need for safety, security and support, on personal, emotional, psychological and spiritual levels. Unfortunately, all of this could emerge more forcefully than you are comfortable with, possibly in the form of argument or disagreement that is essentially a power struggle. Watch for the possibility that it is really old, unresolved issues with your mother or family that are fuelling the conflict.

Beyond the immediate tension, your quest is ultimately how to bring yourself into the world of mature achievement in a way that empowers you to fulfil your dreams and honours your highest integrity. These dreams may be challenged by demands at work, necessary attention to health, or the standards by which you give of yourself in service to others. There is more energy available now to move forward in these issues.

You may also be starting to see a different perspective on how you embrace your "Spiritual Source" (your sense of the Universe and your relationship to it). You have been learning to differentiate between your personal connection to Spiritual Source versus the principles and beliefs that seek to reflect and express that Source. You may be called upon to test and experiment with what you've learned so far, within situations where there is no clear "right or wrong," "good or bad." Both may simply and paradoxically co-exist, requiring you to adjust and expand your perspective to incorporate this paradox. Doing so can cultivate a certain state of grace that will unfold over the next five years.
