ARIES

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 12th house of spirituality, compassion, solitude, privacy, alone time, inner focus, meditation, escapism, addiction, and universal love and beauty.)

This lunar cycle invites you to investigate the soul of who you are. Who are you REALLY? What is the cosmic essence of who you are that wears your ego identity and life circumstances like layers of clothing? These layers may express who you are, but they are not the core essence of who you are. During this cycle you have the opportunity to develop a greater awareness of that essence.

This may come in surprising, unexpected or exciting ways! Flashes of insight may come and go. It may help to write them down right away, so that you can give them deeper consideration later when you have the time.

You are still wrestling with the question of how to balance conventional discipline against unconventional adaptation to your circumstances. This cycle will give you a bit more ability to find a mediated solution between these extremes, by moving forward and being guided by your awareness of the situation. This still may not come easily or without struggle, but now that Mars is out of Taurus it should be easier to see your way through the jungle.

You may find that it's not possible to find a solution that doesn't conflict somehow with your higher values, to some extent, or that doesn't seem to yank your cosmic consciousness down into your more basic (and perhaps "un-spiritual") instincts. It may be necessary to compromise your ideals temporarily in order to move out of a stalemate between your need for stability and your need for flexibility.

Spend some alone time with yourself to listen to that still small voice inside, which can keep you connected to your higher integrity through the long run. This need for quiet time will continue while Mercury is retrograde (Mar.02-25).

ARIES

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 6th House of work and service, paid or volunteer, health and healing, analysis and organisation, and your contribution to the world.)

This Full Moon is also a Lunar Eclipse, which is like a super-charged Full Moon! The influence of the Solar Eclipse in Libra of Oct.03.2005 is reaching fruition in your life now, in much the same way that the Full Moon brings the themes of the previous New Moon into manifestation.

Last October, you were challenged to cultivate deeper empowerment in close relationships and financial matters by working through ambiguity or conflict. So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to gain more awareness and understanding about relationships and financial gain. This has evolved into a goal of healing and getting things done.

The confusion, frustration and "can't-win" dilemmas of last October may or may not be resolved to your satisfaction yet, but you probably have a better idea of what's needed to resolve those problems. Part of this involves a quest to find a higher/deeper state of awareness, purpose and spiritual principles, which can be applied in practical, healing and productive ways.

The challenge lies in trying to reconcile conflicting beliefs, perceptions and/or expectations. We tend to expect spirituality to resemble "sweetness and light," but more often it involves considerable struggle and hard work to get there. In your quest, you may find that reaching this elevated, spiritual state means finding a way for the bliss and the distress to coexist. One does not necessarily cancel out the other.

Rather, your perspective may need to stretch (or may have already started to stretch) to include both ends of the continuum. This "exercise for your spiritual muscles" will help to make you stronger and bring healing. Be careful not to get too impatient or reckless in your efforts to sprint to enlightenment.

TAURUS

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 11th House of friends, peers, colleagues, associates, co-workers, groups, organisations, community at large, and vision and hopes for the future.)

This lunar cycle invites you to explore a different kind of experience with groups, organisations, friends and associates, and more importantly, who you are in relation to them. You might participate in a spiritual or creative project with others, or in a cause that seeks to bring freedom to the downtrodden and disadvantaged. Or, you might decide that it's time to break off and go your own way (at least for a while).

Other people may not be the inspiration or support you hoped they'd be, which may arise from a conflict of values and ideals. Close personal connections to people may give your life special meaning, but you may also be questioning whether that is enough or if you need to reach for a more universal connection with Humanity. Either way, power struggles or argument may result, which challenges you to find a stronger way to define and articulate what you're trying to achieve.

It may be possible to take action in an area that was previously blocked or premature, although this might be a temporary measure or require adjustment later. However, actions and decisions made now could help you bridge the gap between the quest to manifest your ambitions and your struggle to gain the support you need to do that.

Over the last few months, you've been building strategies and resources to help you live your values and integrity more consistently, which may now be forming into new ideals to live by. There are implications of these ideals that still need to be thought through (while Mercury is retrograde: Mar.02-25), but the basic foundation is probably there now. Even if you're not totally sure where you're going, you're probably clearer on where you DON'T want to go, and that may be half the battle.

Hopes and wishes run high through this cycle, perhaps straying into fantasy or illusion. Stay grounded by coming back to your basic values, ethical standards and the vision that you've been working to develop over the last few months.

TAURUS

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 5th House of identity, individuality, selfhood, children, fun, love affairs, creative self-expression and joi de vivre.)

Last October, you were challenged to increase your empowerment through negotiation, persuasion and wisdom, as well as cultivating a sense of compassion through work or service. So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to balance power with fairness. This has evolved into a set of concrete goals (or necessity) to achieve healing, which involves how you relate to the friends, society, Humanity, etc.

This Collective in its many forms may "wake you up" in some way, perhaps through creative conflict that gives you deep insights into the human need for emotional healing. Work and service works best if it's focused on a goal of what needs to be improved, which means being aware (perhaps painfully so) of what the problem is.

Therefore, if you are experiencing strife or struggle, it may help to treat it as an opportunity to understand the deeper nature of what the problem is about. This can give you a more grounded strategy to find solutions. It can also provide a calming counterbalance to any impatience or impulsiveness you might feel.

It might be tempting to want to push your way out of an uncomfortable situation, but your actions are more likely to be effective if you are able to respond after gathering all the information rather than jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Waiting until well after Mercury goes Direct (Mar.25) to take action will give all the information and options a chance to weigh in.

GEMINI

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 10th House of career, goals, ambitions, authority, public recognition, Mother, social reputation and roles in society.)

This lunar cycle invites you to reach for the vision of what you want to do with your life, and to find the courage to move toward that. What do you want to be when you grow up? (...no matter how old you are now!) What do you envision as the highest potential or achievement of your life? What mark do you long to make in your life that will be your legacy?

You may now feel inspired (or pushed) to move toward this vision. This aspiration could demand that you take a leap of faith beyond your comfort zone. Rather than leap the entire chasm at once, you may actually get there faster if you take smaller steps that involve making concrete plans and mapping out the path to where you want to go.

This can help bridge the gap between the shining idealistic vision and what may be a somewhat disappointing reality by comparison. This "gap" may or may not indicate that your vision is unworkable, but it is a natural struggle that emerges whenever we go to manifest an ideal. To some extent you are bumping up against a fundamental struggle between the absolute ideals that inspire you versus how to manifest them in a concrete, specific way.

These two extremes are never easy to reconcile, yet the gap between them often acts like a nerve synapse where enormous creativity can be generated. That creative process will continue while Mercury is retrograde (Mar.02-25).

You may encounter disagreement or conflict with someone close to you, forcing you to examine the deeper aspects of what your ideals and vision really mean to you. Stay grounded by always coming back to the fundamental basics of what your agenda is, as well as staying focused on the common ground between you and the other person.

GEMINI

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 4th House of family, Father (or Mother), childhood, home base, need for nurturing, security and belonging, and the past.)

Last October, you were challenged to explore and nurture your creative force, and to examine your relationship to this force from many perspectives. So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to find a coexisting balance between ambiguity and certainty. This has evolved into inspiration, insight and new awareness about what you could do by applying that creativity in concrete, productive ways.

The possibilities are endless, and there are exciting opportunities forming now. The steps to make them happen will challenge you with hard work and perhaps battling some old ghosts from the past.

Family members, support people and/or those who are especially close to you may challenge you to look far under the surface to learn the underlying nature of current tensions, obstacles or opportunities. You might feel the impulse to act prematurely, or your impatience to resolve the struggle could lead you to overreact.

Be careful what you say now, as the consequences could do damage than you will have to live with. It might be best to wait until well after Mercury goes Direct on Mar.25 before committing yourself to action. Your greatest ally right now is your ability to understand the deeper meaning of these events and to maintain an optimistic attitude.

CANCER

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 9th House of spirituality, beliefs, truth-seeking, justice, philosophy, knowledge, teaching/learning, publishing, long-distance travel, foreign lands and languages, and multiculturalism.)

This lunar cycle invites you to go beyond your usual comfort zone to explore what gives meaning to your life, and to identify the ideals that are the inspirational source of that meaning. You are challenged to break away from existing beliefs, assumptions and visions of the Universe, which you have come to take for granted, and which may be making you a bit spiritually lazy or too overwhelmed to keep growing.

This exploration may take the form of new learning (e.g., taking a course, reading a book, writing exercise, etc.) or making new observations, either of which lead you to question your usual way of how you understand "Life, the Universe and Everything."

Some of this questioning may lead you to rethink whether your work (or any contribution you make to the world, paid or not) is consistent with the ideals you aspire to. Or, you might need to consider making changes in order to preserve your personal authenticity and integrity. This questioning is likely to continue while Mercury is retrograde (Mar.02-25), and may come up with some surprising answers and ideas in the process.

Some of what you may be bumping up against is a struggle to find a deeper self-confidence in who you are, which might be hard to sustain in the face of the ultimately ambiguous and transient nature of life. It is our conscious focus and personal experiences that interpret and formulate the meaning of life. Yet, there seems to be an absolute, transcendent quality to be found as well.

How to identify, understand and reconcile these apparently conflicting perspectives? The answer is as individual and unique to each of us as our DNA. And exploring YOUR possible answers is your mission during this lunar cycle.

CANCER

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 3rd House of intellect, communication, ideas, perceptions, learning, neighbours, commerce, short-distance travel, and information exchange.)

Last October, you were challenged to support or be supported by others, which could bring you to a new perspective and a deeper self-confidence. So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to seek new inspiration and insight out of a kind of creative chaos. This has evolved into the need to articulate and express those insights in ways that balance intuition with practicality and raw information with its higher meaning.

You might get sudden flashes of insight that cross into psychic phenomena or transcendent experiences. Or, you might reach a new level of understanding, spiritual attunement, or awareness of the global "hive mind." Whatever its form of manifestation, it is likely to be brought about by (or expressed through) channelling this new wisdom down into practical application.

You might try writing down your ideas—just the process of articulating it all into specific words can be transformative in itself. Or, you might find you are able to apply your higher perspective in your work or some form of service. By bringing wisdom and meaning into practical application, through word or deed, you can alter your relationship to both and a kind of healing can occur.

This process might not be entirely comfortable, and it might seem sometimes like you're heading in the wrong direction. But if you keep your focus on principles, integrity and your truest potential, while staying firmly rooted in making this happen in practical ways and keep doing reality checks, it is possible to achieve balance, wholeness and healing.

LEO

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 8th House of power, empowerment, control, intensity, deep psychology, death, rebirth, transformation and sexuality.)

This lunar cycle challenges you about the ways you find and use power in your life, as well as the ideals, principles and values that guide your use of power. You are encouraged to explore the depths of your unconscious to find hidden gems of wisdom that can be used to focus your conscious understanding of empowerment more clearly.

Deep transformation can potentially result from this process, but there is also a danger of being deceived by illusions of rationalization and assumptions that leap to conclusions. How to tell which is which? That is the primary question to be explored during this lunar cycle.

Your journey through this enchanted forest may begin with conflict which forces you to look harder at something (in yourself or someone else) that is not easy to accept or understand. Or, you might need to channel inspiration for a creative project that challenges you to delve into the very depths of your being and use all of who you are, yet perhaps being confronted by others who disagree with your creative vision.

Part of what you're up against may be an issue about relationships. On one hand, there may be old patterns coming up from the past that conflict with or aggravate the idealism you bring to your current relationships. On the other hand, you are working on developing a stronger, more grounded sense of Self, while also trying to find ways to heal old problem areas in relationships and how you interact with others.

This latter issue can be helped through friendships and group involvement that enable you to vent frustration or express your passion, even if this seems to conflict with your efforts to reach a more virtuous form of empowerment.

LEO

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 2nd House of finances, income, expenses, possessions, resources, self-worth, and material security and values.)

Last October, you were challenged to use your creative thinking to find the advantages in your adversity, while reconsidering your direction and strategy of how to get there. So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to harvest new ideas that could be put into practical use down the road. This has evolved into a need to find resources to make it happen, which might include dealing with other people who can provide them.

You could receive unexpected support from others in the form of financing, resources, encouragement, inspiration ...or challenge. You might have to battle a demon of sorts in order to take advantage of it, however. This "demon" might be feelings of inadequacy or humiliation that you must get past. Or, perhaps you need to step forward as a force to be reckoned with, more powerfully than you ordinarily would.

There is self-confidence to be found deep within, which you might need to take on faith or express through instinct, since it might be difficult at first to articulate or consciously express that deep-seated belief in yourself. Other people may be a mixed bag of influences during this time. Sometimes others can help you bring out that confidence, while at other times your connection to others might backfire and trigger discouragement through fear that you won't measure up somehow.

Just don't let your spirits become so low that you give up on your dream. If you really feel you can't do everything you hoped to do, then do what you can. Even a small step forward will get you closer to your goal, no matter how long the journey.

VIRGO

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 7th House of love, balance, harmony, close relationships, marriage, partnership, inter-connectedness with others, style of interaction, lovers and adversaries.)

This lunar cycle invites you to take a close look at your approach to close relationships—especially at the idealism, fantasies and longing you encounter there. There can be a fine line between healthy magic and dysfunctional illusion. The qualities in ourselves that we don't know how to own, or don't know are there, tend to get mirrored back to us through other people.

From this largely unconscious interaction, we can learn to work differently with those qualities and in time embrace them in ourselves. But sometimes this projection of our own issues just keeps us in denial if we don't open ourselves to reclaim what is projected.

These kinds of issues are emerging in your life now, for you to explore and understand more clearly. These dynamics likely have their roots in your past—very likely childhood, and perhaps involving control issues or even abuse. You have love as a resource to help you, as long as you draw on what you have learned about loving yourself in down-to-earth ways.

This is an opportunity to become more aware of how unresolved issues from the past still influence the projections you encounter in relationships. Alternatively, you might be challenged by a family member or someone who is part of your support system to speak from your heart, your imagination, or from your highest truth.

A healing process is possible now, by changing disconnection into healthy detachment and fragmentation into a holistic microcosm. If that sounds larger than life or too good to be true, then you're starting to get the idea of what the energy of this lunar cycle is all about. How do you know when "larger than life" becomes "beyond belief"? That is the transitional middle ground that you are in a position to explore now. Expect some exciting and surprising insights, especially while Mercury is retrograde (Mar.02-25).

VIRGO

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 1st House of self, outer personality, appearance, vitality and self-assertion.)

This is your Full Moon, Virgo, since it takes place in your sign. This is also a Lunar Eclipse, which is like a super-charged Full Moon! The influence of the Solar Eclipse in Libra of Oct.03.2005 is reaching fruition in your life now, in much the same way that the Full Moon brings the themes of the previous New Moon into manifestation.

Last October, you were challenged to explore your idea of abundance, and the ethics and ideals that you bring to it. So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to begin building a bridge between the spiritual and material worlds. This has evolved into the need to apply these ideas in a way that brings healing to your sense of self-worth and helps you use that self-healing to help others.

As you have explored your relationship to both material and non-material abundance, hopefully you have encountered the idea that you, yourself, have value. You need to be on your own priority list of what's important; without that, you can burn out by giving too much of yourself to others.

You need self-nurturing to maintain an internal "nest" that protects and supports your innermost human needs. Without a solid foundation of self-esteem and self-worth inside of you, it can be too easy to get lost in the influence of other people, or to believe that your value lies only in what you can provide to others.

To avoid this, you might have to rethink the way you relate to others, or to challenge old beliefs and dynamics that have their roots in the past. This creates a shift in your approach to relationships, which could range from unearthing latent empowerment to confronting unresolved conflict or abuse. This shift may inspire or force new action, but be careful not to act prematurely or without forethought. You might be wise to stay in the planning stage until after Mercury goes Direct (Mar.25).

LIBRA

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 6th House of work and service—paid or volunteer—health and healing, analysis and organisation, and your contribution to the world.)

This lunar cycle invites you to find ways to take your ideals, principles and dreams and put them into practice, by taking care of others through service or by taking care of yourself through believing in yourself. Doing this may require that you break out of old habits and routines, and the current energies are urging you to do just that.

In fact, you might have to be careful not to go overboard and let go of more than you intend to. That includes overspending or overestimating the extent of your resources. You do indeed have resources available for what you need right now, possibly with the help of your family or support system. However, knowing how to recognise and utilize them may be a different matter, requiring deeper examination and speculation (especially while Mercury is retrograde: Mar.02-25).

You might need to let go of perfectionism or the expectation that if you do all the right things you will be guaranteed success. Don't let the ambivalent and fluid nature of this cycle stalemate you into indecision.

Taking action "as the spirit moves" can help to ease the struggle between the need to go along with the Collective (friends, society, etc.) versus the need to heal your sense of Self by affirming your individuality. However, this is not a permanent solution, since that struggle is a deeper process requiring long-term transformation.

In the long run, you are developing a more organic acceptance of natural boundaries (as opposed to automatically reacting to them as rigid or arbitrary). Your leading edge is ultimately composed of love, harmony and cooperation, which stem from your internal foundation that you carry with you ...and which you have been working to strengthen in the last few months (throughout the Venus retrograde cycle that is now finished).

LIBRA

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 12th house of spirituality, compassion, isolation, inner focus, meditation, escapism, addiction, and universal love and beauty.)

Last October, you were challenged to prepare for a shift in the way you relate to the Universe and linking that to your in-depth passion. So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to expand your spiritual connection and wisdom. This has evolved into the need to find a more pragmatic vehicle for this connection to something greater than yourself.

One way to do this is through some form of service, whether that involves using compassion in your job or doing volunteer work or performing "random acts of human kindness." Another way to connect to the Universe is in the ways you take care of yourself, especially in the privacy of your own mind or the tranquility of your alone time.

Cultivating this connection can create a healing of the Self that is based on balancing the good with the bad, as well as your individuality with your connection to the Collective (friends, associates, society, etc.). In order to achieve this healing, you may have to face some truths that may be difficult to accept or that challenge you to reach down into your depths.

Service that is done only in the name of an external higher cause risks becoming regimented and rigid. It needs an "organic" sense of inner calling and spiritual connection (whatever that means to you) in order to make it your own and allow it to emerge from who YOU are. Even if you feel you are already in contact with that calling, there may be a deeper layer of it that awaits your attention.

SCORPIO

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 5th House of identity, individuality, selfhood, children, fun, love affairs, creative self-expression and "joi de vivre.")

This lunar cycle invites you to dig deep inside yourself to connect with your personal source of spirituality, selfhood and creativity. This involves daring to tap into forms of self-expression that may seem out of character but are inspired by your experience of beauty, love and passionate surrender to the creative life force.

You might encounter some argument or contradiction about doing this, either internally (self-doubt or fear that you don't have what it takes) or externally (lack of concrete resources or a conflict between material and spiritual values). This struggle to find a receptive, creative mindset will continue through the Mercury retrograde period (Mar.02-25) and will likely bring up some surprising, illuminating perceptions.

In your ongoing efforts to manifest your ambitions and forge some concrete goals in your life, it may be necessary to simultaneously heal emotional wounds from your past and any cracks in your support foundation.

By taking some initiative in the moment, expressed through empowerment and courage, you can create some temporary movement that can ease a bit of this tension. It's not a permanent solution, and it might even seem frivolous or superficial, but it should help get you through the next few weeks.

The deeper issue remains your quest for confidence, wisdom, understanding and personal meaning. Right now this is being disrupted or undermined in subtle ways, at least in part by your own (unconscious?) sense of idealism, perfectionism or all-or-nothing-ism.

Although it might not seem like it, tapping into your creativity and selfhood can give you the strength and inner resources to work through the longer-term process of stoking the fires of an authentic belief in yourself.

SCORPIO

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 11th House of friends, peers, colleagues and co-workers, groups, organisations, community at large and vision of the future.)

Last October, you were challenged to form a better connection to the Universe through alone time and self-care, and to strengthen your goals by, ironically, focusing internally rather than externally. So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to find a better inner balance between your conscious identity and an internal connection to something greater than yourself. This has evolved into an external reflection of that balance—only it's now between your individuality and your connection to the human Collective (friends, associates, society, Humanity, etc.).

The self-care you've been cultivating can become a healing resource now, providing a foundation to support your ambitions and goals. Friends, groups and other support systems may feature strongly in this next step of a long-term process. Your contact with others right now can have a healing effect on your efforts to bring out your personal creativity. Perhaps they are supporting you in concrete ways, or they might challenge you to perfect your work and activities, to better reflect your original creative vision.

You may need to muster a strong sense of empowerment and self-worth in order to find the material and psychological resources necessary to take the next step. Be careful not to react too defensively to challenges to your creative vision. Instead, it may be better to channel any reactivity, impatience or frustration into generating a stronger mental focus that can expedite your intentions using forethought. It might be wise to wait until after Mercury has gone Direct (Mar.25) before you fully commit to a plan of action.

SAGITTARIUS

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 4th House of family, Father, childhood, home base, need for nurturing, security and belonging, and the past.)

This lunar cycle invites you to uproot your life in creative ways that can stimulate new growth in the long run. There is a part of you that just KNOWS you are a Child of the Universe, or at least knows that your heritage and roots ultimately include more than your immediate family and environment. It may be time to examine and question the boundaries surrounding the territory you regard as your "nest" (family, support system, etc.).

This might manifest in a number of ways. For example, you might find it's time to "leave home," either literally (physically) or figuratively (breaking free of emotional ties to the past, or becoming more independent from your current support system). This could be prompted by an argument, disagreement or disillusionment. Or, you might suddenly see a deeper level of a situation you have taken for granted, changing your whole perception of what is possible in that situation.

Changes in perception are part of an ongoing process of transformation, so it may help to take a long-term view of current events. It may be necessary to question the validity or honesty of the way you have been viewing things.

This could include everything from spiritual beliefs to fundamental perceptions to your assumptions and attitudes. Your current situation(s) may demand that you adhere to strict ethical standards, or you might have to restrict your understanding to the facts and avoid speculation or abstract interpretation.

Venting your frustration with those close to you (who won't mind), or enlisting the help of people who can motivate you, can keep you from getting bogged down, even if this only seems like a temporary or superficial measure. Don't lose sight of the recent gains you have made in your self-worth, accountability and/or security.

SAGITTARIUS

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 10th House of career, goals, ambitions, authority, public recognition, Mother (or Father), social reputation and roles in society.)

Last October, you were challenged to explore new connections with friends, associates, groups, community and perhaps even Humanity as a whole. You were also urged to consider your personal philosophy about the areas of self-worth and abundance.

So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to make peace between your sense of self-worth in your own eyes and your awareness of how others see you. This has evolved into the need and opportunity to start laying the ground work and mapping out the details that can make it all happen.

Whether you're trying to increase a sagging income, or heal a wounded sense of self-worth, or struggling with an escalating hunger for "more" of something, the remedy now is about setting your goal and creating a game plan to make it happen.

Part of what is required to do this is to give yourself permission to believe that you have the support you need. This may not be easy if you come from a past where that was lacking, since it probably eroded your self-esteem, and negative self-esteem could be easily triggered right now. However, by drawing on an inner sense of independence, freedom and uniqueness, you can start to break free of old patterns that hold you back.

Someone close to you might disagree with you, or might give you a kick in the behind to get you moving, either of which can help to clear the air and allow healing growth. This is a time to dare to have some faith in yourself and to believe that the Universe will support your dreams.

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 3rd House of intellect, communication, ideas, perceptions, learning, neighbours, commerce, short-distance travel, and information exchange.)

This lunar cycle invites you to do away with your old ways of looking at things, including assumptions, outmoded beliefs and mental lethargy. By letting go of these things, you make yourself open to remarkable perceptions that can open up your perspective to see far beyond your usual horizons.

This is especially useful when it comes to any kind of creative work—in the broadest sense of the word, which includes artistry, writing, self-expression and any project where you create something new out of the old. This may also bring you into contact with your spirituality—again, in the broadest sense of the word, including religious beliefs, connection to something greater than yourself, the essential meaning you attribute to events and experiences, etc.

In order to reach this altered state of creative/spiritual consciousness, you may have to confront issues about control that tries to protect you from the unknown or the undefined. Your love of order and structure can sometimes feel overwhelmed or lost when venturing into the Source of creativity and spirituality, and you might experience a struggle between the part of you that wants to maintain control over the process and the part of you that sees new potential in exploring the territory beyond the familiar.

However, there is energy generated from the friction of this struggle, and it may help to channel this energy into your work or into finding practical ways to keep the controlling, structured part of you occupied. This is probably only a temporary measure but it can help to keep you from getting stuck.

In the meantime, the exploration of new ideas and imagination will continue especially while Mercury is retrograde (Mar.02-25). You have recently gained a stronger sense of self-worth and resources (internal and external), which you can draw on now. And having a sense of humor definitely helps!

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 9th House of spirituality, beliefs, truth-seeking, justice, philosophy, knowledge, teaching/learning, publishing, long-distance travel, foreign lands and languages, and multiculturalism.)

Last October, you were challenged to use ethical ways to tap into your empowerment, while proceeding with long-term projects through a winding road of unexpected twists and turns.

So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to pursue long-term goals by capitalizing on your strengths while keeping an open and flexible mind. This has evolved into using a creative mindset to formulate a concrete vision of where you're going, which will carry you through the next several months.

You'll need that flexible mindset that you've been working with since last October, in order to be receptive to intuitive possibilities and not dismiss them because they lack sufficient logic. This approach can help you get through struggles you might be having with financing, self-worth or resources that seem more like an impossible dream.

A creative, intuitive perspective can turn problems into solutions, especially if you are open-minded enough to recognise equivalent value in unexpected forms. In other words, it will help to allow what you need to come to you in ways you weren't expecting.

To do this it may be necessary to think "under the surface," or to be open to ideas in your mental "peripheral vision" (in the subtle edges of your thoughts), or to find usable ideas emerging out of creative confusion or dreams. This is especially true while Mercury is still Retrograde (until Mar.25). It may take some mental discipline to get the benefit out of this energy, but your experience with those twists and turns since October will help.

AQUARIUS

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 2nd House of finances, income, expenses, possessions, resources, self-worth, and material security and values.)

This lunar cycle invites you to seek a more uplifting, imaginative outlet in which to attract, invest and spend your blessings. This could literally involve material assets (money, possessions, investments) or something a bit more abstract (security, self-worth, pleasure).

You might be moved to use your resources (money, time, support, etc.) for a "higher" purpose—for the greater good, for some humanitarian project or maybe to advance your favourite cause. Or you might have a creative project about to be launched that needs the promotion and resources to make it happen.

However, there are challenges afoot that could complicate and confuse your plans. For example, your spiritual aspirations might not be reflected in your practical goals as much as you'd like. Or, you may not be getting the cooperation from others that you'd hoped (e.g., friends, associates, groups, partners or loved ones).

It's possible that your vision, ethics, purpose and/or philosophy are at odds with others in some way, making it necessary to rehash the Big Picture and make adjustments accordingly. This is likely to unfold while Mercury is retrograde (Mar.02-25), which could be triggered by argument, disagreement, or awareness that there is too much unspoken going on under the surface that needs to be addressed.

This does not mean your plans are unworkable or worthless! But there may still be wrinkles to be ironed out. Some of these problems may not be straightforward or fully resolvable, but there are ways to deal with them that will be effective.

For now, it will probably help to affirm and assert your playfulness and creative initiative. This may not solve deeper problems, but it can help to keep things moving for now. Interpersonal cooperation is likely to improve—or at least be easier to work with—after Venus goes into Aquarius (Mar.05).

AQUARIUS

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 8th House of power, empowerment, control, intensity, deep psychology, transformation, death/rebirth, the occult, secrets and resources from other people.)

Last October, you were challenged to stretch yourself to find a new awareness and connection with the Universe, while digging down into your past to removed old blocks to growth.

So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to breathe new meaning into close relationships and negotiations, in order to stabilise changes in self-worth and resources. This has evolved into the need to find empowerment and deep healing by digging under the surface.

It is possible to achieve healing in problems affecting close relationships. This requires you to acknowledge and accept your own role in these problems and/or the ways that you have avoided responding from your own power. (This is not to be confused with having power over the other person, which is more likely to aggravate the problem.)

This might be hard to do without being judgmental toward yourself or the other person, but you'll find you get farther now by negotiating peace than assigning blame. The question is: do you fight to defend your own personal interests, or do you strive for a more ambitious empowerment on a broader scale?

Whichever way you go, the important thing to remember is not to overreact or act prematurely or become obsessed about establishing a position of power. The deepest healing will likely come from balancing humility with necessity, gentle compassion with firm boundaries, and trying to prove yourself worthy versus accepting the bountiful gifts of the Universe that are your natural birthright.

PISCES

For the NEW MOON in PISCES

February 27 to March 29, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 1st House of self, outer personality, appearance, vitality and self-assertion.)

This is your New Moon, Pisces, since it takes place in your sigh. This lunar cycle invites you to take some daring steps to liberate yourself from triggers from the past and reach for the highest vision of who you can be.

Now: before you run out and tell your boss where to stuff it ;-) or throw away all your hard-won moral integrity for an idealistic dream, remember that a little daring will go a long way during this cycle! The idea is to liberate, not destroy.

For example, your mission might be to find a higher purpose in your life that aligns your moral values more closely with your loftier ideals. Or, you might be seeking deeper truth and meaning, to better understand feelings of longing, melancholy or doubts about whatever you put your faith in.

This is not likely to be easy, since there is always a little something lost in the translation between the Source of our purest being and the beliefs, philosophy and principles that we adopt to pay homage to that Source. This is not a failing, but a natural part of our human experience—and the struggle to align both sides of this cosmic coin can generate enormous creative energy.

In your case, Pisces, this creativity could be productively channelled into practical forms of service, or into self-care that improves your health on all levels. People in your support system could possibly motivate you or push you into action in these areas, but eventually you will need to develop your own ways of consistently maintaining the good habits and routines that you start now.

Intuitive awareness will probably take many surprising twists and turns while Mercury is retrograde (Mar.02-25), so it's probably best to not rely on your mental focus to ground you this month...but do be receptive to your mental flow to collect the gifts it can bring. Pay attention to dreams and daydreams for important messages from your unconscious.

PISCES

For the LUNAR ECLIPSE
FULL MOON in VIRGO

March 14, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 7th House of Significant Others, relationships, partnerships, inter-connectedness with others, style of interaction, and balance.)

Last October, you were challenged to discover the wisdom that is born out of darkness, while struggling with how to find empowerment that is just and fair to all.

So...how are you doing with that? What began last October was a mission to reconcile denial and faith, and to balance empowerment with integrity. This has evolved into a struggle between the Source of human spirit and the moral principles that guide our expression of it.

This struggle is likely to come out in close relationships and interactions, possibly with people who are in need of nurturing. Ask yourself: Are you giving away too much of your power? Are you helping or just perpetuating your own internal woundedness by helping others? Or maybe you're learning to negotiate a better division of energy between yourself and others by accepting your own need for love and support (and not always putting others first).

These struggles are pointing to new vision, insight and clarity about your highest potential and opportunities to empower yourself with integrity. However, it might seem to be all too easy for this new vision to conflict with or lose touch with your deep intuitive personal sense of what you believe true spirituality and bliss should be. It can help to find the common ground between them.

It may be hard to articulate something so abstract or non-rational, and this could lead to argument or misunderstandings. If you can't find the right words, try images or some other form of creative non-verbal communication. It may also get easier after Mercury goes Direct on Mar.25.
