ARIES

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 1st House of self, outer personality, appearance, vitality and self-assertion.)

This is your New Moon and Solar Eclipse, Aries! This is a new beginning for you that can bring healing, rebalancing, grounding, and a new perspective that helps you take a more detached stance. This is especially true in your struggles between trying to live up to expectations, standards, obligations and responsibilities, versus the need to cut yourself some slack for being human and seeing those expectations within a greater perspective.

What begins now is a renewal of confidence and self-validating life force that begins to form during this 4-week cycle, and will continue to develop over the next 5-6 months. This may show itself in new decisions or the courage to speak your mind. You might encounter intense argument or conflict that drives you to defend your ideologies (or defend yourself against someone else's).

However, you have a lot of support and cooperation from friends, associates, groups and a sense of higher vision. It may be a little easier to respond with diplomacy and gentleness now, or at least to stay focused on ideals that can soften the rough edges of your arguments or reactions.

There is a risk of going overboard in trying to plumb the depths of the roots of the problem, so that you resort to blaming in unconstructive ways. Or, you might try to paint such an overly-optimistic picture of the possibilities that you lose credibility. However, these risks are also founded on a kernel of truth that may not be obvious at first. Or that truth might seem like a tiny voice that easily gets lost in the roar of challenge and progress.

It might work better for you to take some private time to tune in to that small voice of intuition and awareness inside of you, rather than bring it out prematurely. Then you'll be ready to put it into words and action at the Full Moon.

ARIES

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 7th House of Significant Others, relationships, partnerships, inter-connectedness with others, style of interaction, and balance.)

This Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves how you strike a balance between yourself and the people you are close to.

There is potential now to develop a healing transformation in these areas (yourself and close relationships). As you draw on your own ethical and spiritual empowerment (power from within and power that is accountable to a higher power), you can bring a win-win balance to your interactions. This potential ironically arises out of the dynamic stress you've experienced in the last 5-6 weeks involving communication, perceptions and speaking your mind with (sometimes blunt) honesty.

This process has now evolved into a test of sorts, in which you may be called upon to share what you've learned and put it into practice. This relates back to events that took place in early April (when Mars opposed Pluto), but there is still learning, information and some unfinished business left to process. Unresolved relationship tensions, inequities or imbalances may come to a head, requiring you to make a choice about what you're willing to accept...or not. And most of that choice is likely between how to find a workable balance point between strategic compromise and peace at any price.

Underlying this energy is the question: Are you using your insight and information primarily to blame and judge, or to foster a realistic yet non-judgmental understanding? There is often a fine line between these, and you will be called upon to exercise that insight and make some choices over the next couple of weeks. However, there is no win or lose here—only a mirror reflecting what you have learned, what still needs work and what your true needs are.

TAURUS

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 12th house of spirituality, compassion, solitude, privacy, alone time, inner focus, meditation, escapism, addiction, and universal love and beauty.)

This is a new beginning for you in the areas of spirituality, creativity, inner connection to your private self, and your ability to carry that inner connection with you out into the world. In fact, your participation in the outer world is starting a healing process, initiated largely by this new inner connection, and which will in turn help to ease and strengthen that inner connection. This outer world involvement could include career developments, ambitions, goals and plans, life direction and putting intentions into action.

This also involves bringing your ideals and creative imagination into what you're doing, so that you are acting consistently with a sense of higher vision. This is important because there is a level at which you might feel you must settle for less than what you hope to achieve—not necessarily because you've done anything wrong, but simply because you've run into human limitations and natural boundaries.

This is part of an ongoing existential struggle about rising up from your roots to manifest in the outer world your own creative expression of life. This Solar Eclipse gives a burst of self-validating and encouraging energy that will bring some renewed confidence and motivation for this quest. This emerges during the current lunar cycle and continues to develop over the coming 5-6 months.

However, bursts of energy can initially be difficult to contain and control, and you might find that taking action to manifest your dreams evokes a powerful reaction, in yourself or from others, that questions whether your actions are wise. Only you can assess this in a way that is completely honest, and it can help to take some time alone to check in with your deepest motives, impulses, reactions and feelings to see what is really driving you under the surface. Then you can decide how much is just enthusiastic exuberance and how much is pushy aggression.

TAURUS

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 6th House of work and service, paid or volunteer, health and healing, analysis and organisation, and your contribution to the world.)

This Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves manifesting your ideals, vision, creativity and essential life force in concrete areas, like health, service, work and problem-solving.

There is potential now to develop a healing transformation in these areas. On one hand you may be experiencing an inspired sense of direction that feels like it could take you where you want to go simply by surrendering to the impulse. On the other hand, there is also a need to deliberately nurture a more moderate, balanced effort that requires making conscious choices.

Both extremes can be brought into balance by centering yourself in a place of inner empowerment (rather than trying to impose control over people and circumstances). This enables you to assume both a position of control and a process of working cooperatively with the energy around you.

This is important because you are currently at a turning point where you may have to make some difficult or significant choices. This may involve friends, associates and groups. If your connection with them have been feeling a strain lately, you may have to deal with them firmly and decisively, especially around the 18th (when Venus conjuncts Uranus).

This could involve severing a connection, or it might mean redefining the ground rules, or it may result in having to agree to disagree about a difference in values. Alternatively, it might also involve making a choice that commits you to a cooperative effort with others.

If you check in with your gut feelings, you may find that the decision is already made, for all intents and purposes, and your job now is to find a way to implement it that works for all concerned. Acting from a place of compassion, empathy and receptivity will help, and is less likely to bring back words that you must "eat" later, and is more likely to create a win-win situation for all concerned.

GEMINI

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 11th House of friends, peers, colleagues, associates, co-workers, groups, organisations, community at large, and vision and hopes for the future.)

There is a new beginning in your social contacts, involvement with groups, and your incentive to go after your hopes and dreams. A healing process is being launched now, which both draws from and gives nourishment to your spiritual focus, ideals and quest for higher meaning.

This may involve taking the initiative in areas where you have been struggling to find a balance between raw information and broader meaning, or between interpersonal communication and speaking to a higher developmental process, or between your own personal boundaries and the limits of the Natural Laws of Life.

You may be feeling frustrated because of people or groups in your life that aren't living up to the higher ideals you feel are important. Check your hidden "shadow" to see if you are not "putting your money where your mouth is" either. It may ultimately be up to you to apply these principles yourself first. Alternatively, be sure you're not taking it all on yourself and trying to compensate for others who aren't holding up their end.

You have support for this journey in the form of new intuition, insight, ideas and perspectives. These may have been in the background since mid-February, but you probably have a better idea now of where they fit in the larger puzzle. These perceptions can provide inspiration to strengthen your self-confidence and figure out how to apply your higher vision in a concrete way.

You may be intensely challenged by someone close to you make an important decision or to defend your ideas and ideologies. If you call on your ideals and high vision of what you aspire to, it will be easier to respond in a way that soothes the rough edges and responds rationally. The more you can get the bigger picture in focus, the more you will be able to respond with clarity.

GEMINI

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 5th House of identity, individuality, selfhood, children, fun, love affairs, creative self-expression and joi de vivre.)

This Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves finding a balance between who you are as an individual versus who you are in relation to friends, acquaintances, associates, groups and communities.

There is potential now to develop a healing transformation in these areas, particularly by finding a position of inner empowerment in the way you approach interaction with the people around you. That means resisting the urge to use a hammer when a fly swatter will do, and instead deciding where your boundaries need to be and gently but firmly standing your ground.

Strive to heal with penetrating wisdom, and resist the urge to use "truth" as a weapon. This may be more of a temptation than you realise, since it might seem like argument, conflict, confrontation and conquest are the only ways to ensure that you can achieve your goals and don't wind up stuck in limbo.

However, you've been working with this energy since late February (when Mercury went retrograde while in square aspect to Pluto). Now that Mercury has caught up to Pluto again, you have a chance to approach the same dynamic (and possibly the same situation) armed with new learning, understanding and insight. By detaching without disconnecting, and by owning all the different energies and perspectives that you are bringing to the situation, this can help you find that place of healthy empowerment and balance in your interactions.

There is more information and understanding to gain about the affected situations. And you may need to get a felt sense of your needs and what you really want deep down, before you are ready to take action and speak your truth clearly. If you can maintain a sense of cooperation and balance now, speaking your truth later is less likely to become defensive, harsh or over-reactive.

CANCER

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 10th House of career, goals, ambitions, authority, public recognition, Mother (or Father), social reputation and roles in society.)

There is a new beginning in your career, goals and social standing, which will unfold over the next 5-6 months. If you have been thinking about moving in a new direction in your life, or perhaps just feeling the need to find a new direction, this 4-week lunar cycle will likely see the beginnings of a long-term change that will have far-reaching results.

You might feel that you currently lack sufficient resources, support, skills or confidence to do this. However, making the plans and taking some action can help find a way beyond the "I just can't" trap. The trick is to balance impulsive reaction with grounded courage. This can bring great healing, especially in terms of how you deal with other people who are in a position of power.

Taking the initiative and asserting your own authority might be scary or daunting, but it could also help bring out the very empowerment you need right now. These same people (or others) may also provide some inspiration that can help you get moving, even if your actions are behind the scenes or indirect for the time being.

Direct action should become easier by the time Mars goes into Cancer on Apr.13. Be careful you don't confuse confidence with wishful thinking or courage with gullibility. Neither is it a good idea to become so obsessive about details and perfection that you get stuck in fantasy instead of dealing effectively with reality.

Part of the learning in this lesson is to be able to illuminate your blind spot when it comes to power (yours and others'). This learning also includes grappling with the idea that although limitations are necessary, they're not necessarily the end of your dreams. This learning is a long-term process, and gains momentum over the coming few months. Seek inspiration, insight and integrity in your higher aspirations and ethics. In your heart you know your highest potential—don't discount that.

CANCER

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 4th House of family, Father (or Mother), childhood, home base, need for nurturing, security and belonging, and the past.)

This Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves finding a sense of balance with the past, which can help move you into the future.

There is potential now to develop a healing transformation in these areas, particularly through moving in small steps toward a larger goal. As you are able to keep moving in small or manageable ways, it will help to keep you from falling into lethargy, indecision or discouragement that saps your confidence. It is good to keep your aspiration, inspiration and higher vision in focus, but don't let it become so much larger than life that it backfires and makes you feel like you'll never get there.

It may help to regard this time as a turning point that will open up new possibilities, but remember that it's one step in a journey of many – you're not meant to do it all at once. However, the path from where you are to where you want to go should start to become clearer now, and your awareness of what is required will become more focused.

You might experience this as pressure or tension, possibly bringing argument or confrontation, but if you can aim to respond from the wisdom of your instincts and not from your reflexive reactions, there is enormous power and motivation at your disposal that can move you in the direction you want to go.

In the meantime, there are choices to be made about how to align your actions with your vision and how to balance cooperative compliance with strategic collaboration. In a way, the choices are already made; what is left is to figure out how to put it all into practice – one step at a time.

LEO

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 9th House of spirituality, beliefs, truth-seeking, justice, philosophy, knowledge, teaching/learning, publishing, long-distance travel, foreign lands and languages, and multiculturalism.)

There is a new beginning in the ideals, principles, standards and integrity with which you guide your life. There is a part of your life where you may have struggled lately with trying to live up to certain standards, possibly feeling you have fallen short in the eyes of others (or they have fallen short in yours).

There is a shift starting now that is fuelled by taking your motives, actions and drive to a newly inspired high. By showing what you're really made of—to yourself, to others, to the Universe—you can create a stronger, healing connection with others.

You can also satisfy some of the strict expectations and responsibilities you're feeling lately, since you are now in a position to start putting plans into action and applying concrete development to your visionary dreams. This will unfold over the coming 5-6 months, although this current 4-week lunar cycle will lay the groundwork for the work to come.

You have enormous creativity and personal inspiration to draw on now—so much so that you might become a bit obsessed or engulfed by it. Or, you might feel intimidated by the calling of such intense potential and be tempted to pull away from it, possibly finding that conflicts with others provide a convenient diversion.

The trick is to be pro-active rather than reactive. If you can't take a large step forward, then take a smaller step. If you find it's all happening so fast that you can't keep up, then simplify your life and just concentrate on what's really important to your central purpose right now; you can pick up the lost threads later. Let yourself be guided by your highest integrity and principles, while accepting that it's okay to be human and therefore less than perfect.

LEO

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 3rd House of intellect, communication, ideas, perceptions, learning, neighbours, commerce, short-distance travel, and information exchange.)

This Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves taking a broad perspective and instinctive understanding of your immediate situations (and perhaps of life in general) and boiling it all down into something that can be simplified into words and ideas.

There is potential now to develop a healing transformation through this process, and doing so can bring advantages and benefits that intensify your sense of self, creativity and internal strength. You may, however, have to defend or demonstrate that strength, perhaps through argument or confrontation.

It may help to channel your frustration, anger, outrage, fear or suspicion into creative expression; for example, writing, singing, painting, dancing, praying, etc. This not only gives you a productive outlet for that intense energy, it can also help you grasp and integrate its essential nature into your conscious thoughts and choices.

Your experience of this energy is shifting now, possibly into a calmer or less urgent stance, and it may be easier then to spend your energy in creative rather than reactive ways. Your assertiveness may be focused more in protecting your "children" – literally or figuratively (your creative projects).

In the meantime, your job is to find a clear, balanced focus that defines and illuminates the message you want to convey to the world. Some of that message needs to address the question of how to balance aggression with receptivity, power with compassion, and brute force with ethical empowerment. How you work with these questions now will develop, steer and propel your activities over the coming months.

VIRGO

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 8th House of power, empowerment, control, intensity, deep psychology, death, rebirth, transformation and sexuality.)

There is a new beginning in the way you are able to empower yourself through pro-active self-assertion and the magical transformation that comes from self-acceptance. This will unfold over the next 5-6 months, although this 4-week lunar cycle will lay the groundwork for this growth.

Close relationships take a significant role in this drama, since they might provide important feedback or insight that can give you a better perspective of your situation. Or, others might give you precious encouragement to go after what you want.

Some of that self-assertion could be applied to a career move now, or to take action that moves you closer to a goal. A gentle touch is likely to achieve more right now, especially combined with a carefully planned strategy.

You might find that old ghosts from the past may come back to haunt, possibly threatening to pull you back into old patterns (that don't work very well in the present). Or, your foundation of passion (built on past experiences) might help you find the courage to move forward with your goals.

At best, this can inspire you to speak your mind constructively and powerfully about matters where you had previously held yourself back. At worst, you might speak a little too abruptly, carelessly, or with too much resentful baggage from unresolved past conflicts. It will help to stay focused on your purpose and priorities in the present, particularly in terms of what you need to "get the job done" (literally or figuratively).

VIRGO

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 2nd House of finances, income, expenses, possessions, resources, self-worth, and material security and values.)

This Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves gathering the resources, talents and support you need in order to fulfil your goals and plans.

There is potential now to develop a healing transformation in these areas, especially when combined with a center of empowerment and confidence that comes from within. This empowerment comes from healing and progress you have made in the past, particularly from having separated yourself from old patterns and baggage that don't serve you well anymore.

Realising that you aren't as entangled in those past problems anymore can show you that you have more resources and a stronger position in the present than you might have thought. This can come in handy now because you are in a position where you may have to answer for past actions in some way. Or, you might have to defend yourself with someone close to you, who may feel you are not living up to the high expectations they have of you.

You may not be able to resolve past conflicts so that everything goes back to the way it was, but it is possible to make a new beginning that emerges from a new self-confidence based on self-acceptance. Self-acceptance does not mean feeling okay about yourself only if you live up to certain standards; neither does it mean disregarding the ethics and principles that you aspire to. Rather, it means you find a balance between being human with faults and being capable of improvement, so that you can simply accept everything that you are in the moment.

Your interactions with people who mean a lot to you may be the proving ground where your ability to find this balance will be tested. But this not a win-lose kind of test. It is there to validate what you've achieved and to formulate an agenda of what still needs some work.

LIBRA

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 7th House of love, balance, harmony, close relationships, marriage, partnership, inter-connectedness with others, style of interaction, lovers and adversaries.)

You have a new beginning taking place in how you relate to others, to yourself, and to the Universe. You have an opportunity now to reach for a higher level of ethics, motivation and strategy, which is more in sync with the greater implications of your actions.

It might be tempting to want to make all the changes happen at once. You might try to speak so forcefully or passionately about the Truth, as you see it, that you risk coming across as dogmatic, preachy or overly idealistic. On the other hand, you might find that your passion finds an outlet in your creativity and high ideals, inspiring you to bring out the best you can be.

Be careful not to go overboard in your spending in the name of manifesting your creativity and vision. Running parallel to this creative process is a struggle to find healing through self-acceptance, while also trying to satisfy external expectations, demands, responsibilities and standards.

This is a long-term process of healing and restructuring, and you have the opportunity now to find an outlet for that struggle by asserting yourself in your interactions, especially with those close to you. The trick is to do it in a way that is constructive, self-validating and light-hearted, without becoming self-righteous, self-centered or insensitive.

It will help to offset any tendency to become stuck in feelings of inadequacy (and a compulsive need to over-compensate for this). You can do this by asserting who you are in a playful way, speaking your highest Truth in joy, and being deeply honest with yourself. This process will unfold over the coming 5-6 months, although the groundwork is being laid during this 4-week lunar cycle.

LIBRA

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 1st House of self, outer personality, appearance, vitality and self-assertion.)

This your Full Moon, Libra, since it takes place in your sign! This particular Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves finding ways to nurture yourself that isn't an either-or choice. In other words, your needs don't become lost in your efforts to be there for other people.

There is potential now to develop a healing transformation in these areas, especially by increasing your awareness and understanding of how your decisions are made. When it seems to come down to a choice between you or the other person getting your needs met, what happens inside of you that tilts the balance one way or the other?

How easy or hard is it to find a compromise or solution that enables both of you to get some of what you need? How easy is it to say No when you need to, or to say Yes when you'd rather not? The lesson about self-nurturing is to start with the knowledge that you are entitled to be safe and supported, especially in your innermost places, and that it is okay to give that to yourself if/when you need to.

Some of this might come out in a struggle around health, work or service, so that you may be called upon to find a creative compromise in a difficult choice that needs to be made – quite possibly involving a tug of war between yourself and another person. It may be necessary to negotiate a truce that feels like a tense ceasefire. Or, in order to create a workable peace, you may have to set aside the urge to either blow it all up or surrender in resignation.

Whatever the circumstances, the damage has probably already been done, and it's a question of how you can emerge in a positive way to make a new beginning that allows everyone to go forward.

SCORPIO

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 6th House of work and service—paid or volunteer—health and healing, analysis and organisation, and your contribution to the world.)

You have a new beginning taking place in your work (which includes not only a paid job but also volunteer work and anything you do to contribute to the world around you). You are in a long-term struggle to manifest your life goals (which might include career plans), while needing to heal old wounds from the past that have held you back.

New opportunities and actions are emerging now that can provide motivation and momentum to move you closer to those goals. This might come in the form of a new job, or taking on a new project, attending to your health better, or possibly just finding the courage to take action through a burst of confidence. This might also be done out of necessity, since your resources, finances and/or sensual cravings may be at a critical turning point right now, requiring you to take action that will empower you over the next 5-6 months.

You have the ability now to balance self-assertion with diplomacy and impulsive action with imaginative strategy. There are people in your support system who can provide help and encouragement. However, it might be difficult to know how to take this in without being tempted to jump to conclusions or resort to blame in an effort to feel more powerful.

On the other hand, if you can reach for a deeper understanding of the forces at work and their origins, you can tap into some very creative frustration that can help you heal unresolved disappointments from the past. That creative frustration could also bring intuition, ideas and insight, which can provide a brainstorm of inspiration for creative projects (e.g., writing and other forms of communication).

SCORPIO

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 12th house of spirituality, compassion, isolation, inner focus, meditation, escapism, addiction, and universal love and beauty.)

This Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves finding a place of harmony and balance within yourself, and making peace with the feelings, needs and emotions that you rarely show to the world.

There is potential now to develop a healing transformation in these areas, particularly in terms of feeling good about yourself (warts and all) and acknowledging the value and substance of who you are. In order to access this healing, you may first need to convince yourself (and possibly someone else) that you DO in fact deserve that acknowledgement.

This may come in the form of argument, confrontation or disagreement. However, the resulting friction and tension can also provide excellent energy for creative projects, deepening self-awareness and strengthening your ability to communicate the essence of who you are.

This can act as a turning point in which you must call upon a defiant sense of self-love, self-esteem and self-acceptance to get through it. This turning point can bring a breakthrough that brings out latent self-confidence.

There is a shift happening now in terms of how you experience and direct your energy (as your co-ruler Mars goes into Cancer). At that time you begin to have more ability to act in your own best interests, including being proactive in establishing and maintaining your rightful place in the Universe. For now, let yourself be open to "just knowing" you are a Child of the Universe.

The question is whether you will lapse back into old patterns of being hard on yourself, or if you will dare to accept all that you are, without feeling you have to hide some of it. Here's a hint—even if you lapse back, you can take a step forward again by not beating yourself up for it.

SAGITTARIUS

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 5th House of identity, individuality, selfhood, children, fun, love affairs, creative self-expression and "joi de vivre.")

There is a new beginning happening in the areas of identity, creative self-expression and playful liberation. You may experience a burst of creative inspiration now that could lead to new projects and, most importantly, a new perspective on life.

You've been struggling with a long-term process of trying to nail down the meaning of life in concrete terms, as well as your place within it. It might have felt sometimes like the Universe was saying No more than it was saying Yes. This solar eclipse brings new energy and motivation to your sense of self, which can help you express that Self in ways that provide constructive results.

In fact, you could experience the next 5-6 months as being very intense and passionate. This might create friction or stimulation in close relationships, since others might feel a little overwhelmed by your energy. But it's also a time when you could find the courage to speak your truth and clear the air from lurking background conflicts.

You have the ability to balance your assertive or aggressive energy with diplomatic strategy, gentleness and compassion, and you will likely find that including these qualities wins more arguments than sheer force. There is something fuelling your frustration and inspiring the impulse to reach beyond your comfort zone.

You are wrestling with issues of meaning, spiritual beliefs, and understanding your place in the Universe, all of which might seem a little conflicted, ambiguous, blocked or discouraging lately. However, there are intuitive ideas and insights within reach now that can help you make sense of what your deeper needs are in the area of spiritual meaning. Use these insights to inspire and guide your actions, rather than letting your reactions control or filter your perceptions.

SAGITTARIUS

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 11th House of friends, peers, colleagues and co-workers, groups, organisations, community at large and vision of the future.)

This Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves reaching out beyond your immediate sphere of existence to connect with your circle of friends, community or greater Humanity.

There is potential now to develop a healing transformation in these areas, by taking the deep self-knowledge you’ve been acquiring over many years and channelling it into a creative message. First you need to establish a personal connection with the Collective (the world beyond your little corner). This might involve reconnecting with friends, networking with associates or interacting within groups and organisations.

You do have power and courage to draw on while doing this, even if it feels like you may be confronted by some people or haunted by ghosts from the past. This is a transitional energy that is about to shift, when you will be better able to take a stand to support your own interests. In the meantime, you have some decisions to make involving your family, your past or your current support system.

You may need to break free of some old patterns, and social discord with those close to you may be an opportunity in disguise that propels you to do just that. Or, you might need to reconcile conflicts with people from your past, which is necessary before you can really make connections with the outside world. Or, you may have to map out a daring strategy of compromise in order to bridge the gap between what you want and what others expect.

Whatever the circumstances, this is a time when it is important to rely on your inner confidence and trust that there is a greater logic guiding the flow of events, even if it's sometimes difficult to wrap your brain around the specifics.

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 4th House of family, Father (or Mother), childhood, home base, need for nurturing, security and belonging, and the past.)

You have a new beginning in the areas of family, home, memories, the past, and your current support system. In particular, you might experience a burst of energy, confidence and courage to take action about situations that have been building up for a while. This can help you make progress with your long-term process of developing personal empowerment and cultivating acceptance of what you have (rather than needing more to meet your needs).

You might find that other people inspire you to take action and move forward in your plans. This could be a mixed blessing—as much as others may be supportive and helpful, they might also disapprove if you don't respond the way they think you should.

Or, you might find that others constructively challenge you to make your actions more consistent with your vision, ideals and dreams. Part of your challenge right now may be that you're reaching a critical point that is compelling you to take action, but you might feel a bit too scattered or ungrounded still to feel fully confident about doing that.

However, being unfocused, scattered, inconsistent or erratic also has a gift for you in the form of intuitive insight and the ability to speak from your heart about what you really want. There is also a lot of creative energy that emerges with the need to break free of established perceptions. That creative, liberating energy might be better understood by friends, colleagues, mentors and associates, and therefore this may garner more support and encouragement from them than if you try to stick with the established ways of doing things.

Much of what this process comes down to is daring to let your true self shine through the tarnish of cynicism, pessimism or discouragement. This is an unfolding process over the coming 5-6 months, although the groundwork is laid during this 4-week lunar cycle.

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 10th House of career, goals, ambitions, authority, public recognition, Mother (or Father), social reputation and roles in society.)

This Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves making a feeling connection to your goals and ambitions, especially in terms of the desires and aspirations you don't show to the world very often.

Even if you still don't show this side of you now, there is healing transformation potential to be gained by "connecting those dots" inside of yourself. What are you secretly hoping to accomplish, whether in your career or your life in general? What are your hidden dreams, desires and motivations?

By becoming aware of these and finding ways to communicate them, you can set a lot of this energy in motion. You may even be called on to defend those ambitions, or you may struggle in figuring out how to construct the map to make it happen.

Tempers may flare or you may become impatient, but this friction is a crucible that can bring your plan one step further in its development. You will likely find that other people help you move forward—either by giving you a kick in the pants or by presenting a need that must be filled (with your help, of course, which can get you moving again).

In the meantime, social contacts and interaction may be tense but productive, possibly creating argument, disagreement or conflicts of interest. However, this provides a turning point that can clear the air and help you get on track with your goals.

Your best strength right now lies inside you, in the part of you that intuitively "knows" what is right for you and what you need to do. That doesn't mean you should dismiss the feedback or input of others, but it is important that you not lose sight of that inner place where your instincts will tell you what you need to know.

The challenge is how to rely on those instincts without becoming obsessive, controlling or defensive. Diplomacy can be an ally if you have a subtle (not deceptive) strategy behind it.

AQUARIUS

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 3rd House of intellect, communication, ideas, perceptions, learning, neighbours, commerce, short-distance travel, and information exchange.)

You have a new beginning in the area of how you perceive the world around you and how you mirror that back in the form of communication, self-expression, feedback and observations. You have been wrestling with issues to do with relationships, interaction and your interface with the world.

This solar eclipse can give a constructive boost to that struggle, giving you new ways to speak your Truth, speak your mind and speak from your passion. Some of that process might involve examining the ways that you filter your true self-expression, perhaps in order to make your message easier to hear or maybe out of fear that your observations will not be well received.

The truth is, we all do that to one extent or another; but sometimes we need to rip the filter a little bit in order to bring out all that we have to say to the world. This could be that time for you. But rather than this being a destructive or reckless action that is an end in itself, this assertive self-expression will work best if you use it to add an extra dimension that injects energy into that me/you struggle.

The best place to focus your actions is probably in the areas of creativity (artistic or in general), children, playfulness and self-expression. You might find this becomes necessary (rather than simply a choice) due to strong pressure from friends, associates, colleagues or groups. You have the resources to pull this off, although those resources aren't likely to be consistent or predictable. Rather, you may find that new insights, ideas and inspiration can fuel an expansion of your goals and sense of vision.

This expansion might conflict with the dreams that others have for you. Or, the struggle between manifesting your potential versus finding a sublime happiness might emerge in your relationships and interactions in some way. Your mission is to express the energy essence that is You, and in so doing you can bring healing to that essence.

AQUARIUS

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 9th House of spirituality, beliefs, truth-seeking, justice, philosophy, knowledge, teaching/learning, publishing, long-distance travel, foreign lands and languages, and multiculturalism.)

This Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves finding a place of comfort and belonging in the Universe, and thereby tapping into your intuitive understanding of the higher meaning of Life and your place within it.

Although this may sound overly ambitious, it isn't without its obstacles and challenges. There is potential now to develop a healing transformation in spiritual areas, especially through groups, organisations, community or any other form of Collective. Your connection to others has been evolving for quite a few years, and you can draw on that learning now to help you find a sense of meaning, understanding and wisdom that is both expansive and direct.

Be careful you don't get caught in a trap of seeing so many different facets and possibilities that you become overwhelmed, indecisive or disorganized. You might also wind up trying so hard to be compassionate, forgiving and generous that you forget to acknowledge the more destructive human instincts in the Grand Equation.

There is a risk of spending beyond your means (be that money, love, kindness or diplomacy) in an attempt to overcompensate for something (like guilt, self-absorption, or fear of disconnection or scarcity). Some of this is about the need to find a creative outlet to express your youthful spirit (or help someone else express theirs).

You may be struggling to justify spending your resources on your own ambitions, or you might feel the need to say no to the demands of someone else. Most of this fight is already fought, and like the Oracle in the Matrix says, your job now is to understand why you have chosen your path. Very soon you will put that creativity into practical use.

PISCES

SOLAR ECLIPSE

NEW MOON in ARIES

March 29 to April 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 2nd House of finances, income, expenses, possessions, resources, self-worth, and material security and values.)

There is a new beginning in career, job, finances and what you do with your energy in the world. This also applies to life goals, health, resources and what you have going for you that you can share with the world. You might experience a burst of energy that results in new income, a new job, a promotion or a new project in your life.

There is likely to be a very intense focus on career, goals, reputation and/or authority issues, and possibly involving one or both parents. The underlying issues probably involve the need to assert your authority and power, but you may have to stand your ground against some strong pressure to go along with someone else's expectations or agenda.

It may be possible to soothe the situation with gentleness, diplomacy and behind-the-scenes manoeuvring, but be careful not to let strategy become manipulation or deception. You have insights and intuitive perceptions now that can help you speak to the big picture.

This can also help you break out of blame or perfectionism (from yourself or others) that might interfere with your ability to use a creative and imaginative approach. On the other hand, that "judgment" may be trying to keep you from straying too far from your integrity, so it is worth listening to its underlying message.

You are faced with juggling various issues about morals, principles, beliefs, ethics, standards and potential—especially who defines these in your life and how (or why) to put them into action. This solar eclipse brings a reminder that you must be a participant in how these areas are applied in your life. Yet, you can't do it alone either—you need the support of something greater than yourself, whether that is the Universe or an authority figure or a system of beliefs. How you put all these different pieces together is a process that will unfold over the next 5-6 months, with the groundwork being laid during this 4-week lunar cycle.

PISCES

FULL MOON in LIBRA

April 13, 2006 (AU: April 14)

(Takes place in your solar 8th House of power, empowerment, control, intensity, deep psychology, transformation, death/rebirth, the occult, secrets and resources from other people.)

This Full Moon not only brings the current lunar cycle to manifestation, it also sets your direction for the long-term development of the Solar Eclipse energy (see the New Moon horoscope for more about this). That direction involves delving into the depths of intuition, desire, feelings and emotions, and allowing your experience of them to transform you.

There is potential now to develop healing in these areas, by dealing with power and authority. By facing, embracing and working with your own "shadow" side (the feelings, urges and instincts that you would rather not acknowledge) you will be better equipped by face the "shadow" side of others, especially those in authority. Also, as you draw on the intensity of your own ambition and determination to achieve your goals, the easier it will be to acknowledge and embrace the part of you that seeks to own and wield power.

Your way is typically to embrace that energy gently, carefully and through careful balance, but that doesn't mean it's not intense and forceful. Your mission now is to explore different ways to release that energy in a way that is compassionate as well as powerful, strong as well as caring, and ethical as well as effective.

You may encounter argument, conflict or confrontation in the process of trying to integrate and utilize this complex energy. You might have to defend your ambitions, actions or choices, or you may have to make some difficult decisions. Yet, in a way, the decisions are already made. What is left is to understand why you chose the path you did, and how to make it happen – ideally in a way that is ethical, effective and fair to all concerned.

Very soon you will begin putting that energy to creative use, either through an artistic form of self-expression or by using self-assertiveness in a caring, nurturing way. For now, you have choices to make that will affect how you use that energy later.
