ARIES

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 2nd House of finances, income, expenses, possessions, resources, self-worth, and material security and values.)

You are challenged to develop a better relationship with abundance and values. This refers to how you handle money and possessions, but it also includes what you "have" – skills, talents, plans, sensory experience, pleasure and self-worth.

You likely have allies to help you with this who are part of your support system, which might include family or others you turn to for comfort, safety and connection. Or, support might come from within yourself, from an emotional foundation of security and self-nurturing.
You are challenged to strengthen your sense of self-worth and inner stability, especially in situations where your self-esteem might be sagging, or where your involvement with friends and associates might be less than what you'd hoped.

You may feel the need to keep your true feelings to yourself, or to resign your heart to a level of virtue that may not be easy. It may seem necessary to do this to protect yourself from being judged or embarrassed, although you might still benefit from taking an honest look at the deeper nature of those feelings and affections.

It will help to gain a deeper understanding of what brings you pleasure and what makes you feel secure. There may be a quality to these areas that is more like obsession than passion. The greater your understanding of your underlying and hidden motives, feelings and agendas, the more you will know how to create a safe emotional foundation for yourself and protect yourself from getting hurt.

ARIES

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 8th House of power, empowerment, control, intensity, deep psychology, transformation, death/rebirth, the occult, secrets and resources from other people.)

You are challenged to delve deeply into your feelings, intuition, passion and desire! Over the last couple of weeks you have enjoyed an abundance of creativity and intuition. You have been challenged to ground and manifest these energies by becoming more productive, by finding the resources to put your plans into action, by slowing down and being more methodical, and by getting in touch with your body through your sensuality.

What has emerged out of this is a challenge to take what you've accomplished and learned, and re-examine the ideals that inspire you and the illusions that trip you up. You are also called upon to take a closer look at the value of recent struggles, which might seem like they're only dragging you down but can actually bring you strength in unexpected ways. This can especially benefit relationships, desires, money, resources and values, as well as self-worth and self-love.

It may be feeling like you "should" be able to move forward, with opportunities lurking in the air lately, yet you may find it hard to get yourself in gear. This will pass and you'll be more on top of your game in June. In the meantime, try looking at what may be getting in your way psychologically. You may discover that your "Inner Child" has been feeling a bit vulnerable, insecure or moody, or that attending to the needs of others has been draining your energy.

This is a good time to take stock of what your emotional needs are and whether you might need to take more decisive action or draw firmer boundaries to get those needs met. Go with the flow and listen to what those inner feelings are telling you. Then use your best judgment to decide how (or whether) to act on them.

TAURUS

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 1st House of self, outer personality, appearance, vitality and self-assertion.)

This is your New Moon, Taurus, since it takes place in your sign! You are in a position to find assertive yet sensitive ways to communicate your feelings and needs. This can be a valuable resource for you, as you are challenged to assert who you are in the development of your ambitions, plans and goals.

You have been working on establishing a more solid foundation in your life. This could include struggling to build a better relationship with your family, or striving to carve out a more stable "home base" (emotionally, literally or symbolically). What you are building ON that foundation is just as important, and is a bit more in focus this month.

You are challenged to determine what your values are that will help you achieve your goals. The trick is that your current values may not seem to support or be consistent with what is realistically possible. You may need to make some compromises, and you might wonder if it's possible to stay true to your ideals and be practical at the same time. However, the struggle to find your way between "the rock and the hard place" is itself an experience that will help to forge a stronger set of goals and plans.

People you are close to (partner, friends, associates, etc.) can help you by challenging you to look into your deeper motives and feelings about the situation. This may not always be a pleasant experience, but it can become a valuable resource that will help to lift you out of being stuck. Once you get past the fear that maybe others know what is best more than you do, you will find you have more courage, conviction and wisdom than you thought possible.

TAURUS

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 7th House of "Significant Others," relationships, partnerships, inter-connectedness with others, style of interaction, and balance.)

You are challenged to delve deep below the surface in your interactions, especially with people close to you (spouse, partner, close friends, etc.). In the last couple of weeks you've had an abundance of feeling-based connection with others, including friends, acquaintances and associates.

In order to tap into this energy and use it creatively, you've had to find concrete ways to communicate your position, as well as answer to a larger or deeper perspective that may have felt like either judgment or wisdom.

This now emerges into a need to examine the ideals that become attached to authority issues in your interactions with others. Is it possible you place others on a pedestal and then feel you must live up to the same standard? Any power and control issues happening in your close relationships could benefit by taking a closer look at the ideals and standards to which you hold yourself and others. Are they realistic? Do they really help the greater good of what you're trying to do?

It may help to spend some alone time, or check in with your inner feelings, or gently work behind the scenes to smooth out the rough edges (your own or your reaction to others'). This can give the opportunity for your hidden desires, subtle feelings, unconscious idealizing and true impulses to all have their say.

By tuning into these different aspects of yourself, you can gain valuable resources that help you process and heal the struggles you have recently had that relate to authority, goals and standards.

GEMINI

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 12th house of spirituality, compassion, solitude, privacy, alone time, inner focus, meditation, escapism, addiction, and universal love and beauty.)

You are in a position now to implement new ways to improve your finances, your material worth and your self-worth. This might include new forms of income or perhaps acquiring possessions and other resources that give you a feeling of protection, security and support.

This can be a valuable resource while you are challenged to find your place in the "grand scheme of things." You have been working to find a sense of higher purpose and meaning, while struggling to find ways to apply this in basic, practical ways. It may seem that too much becomes lost in the translation, and yet you are challenged now to find ways to bridge the gap between the ideal and the practical.

What does your body tell you? It's one thing to theorize, speculate and try to understand the logic in the paradoxes that are in front of you. But what it ultimately comes down to is what your natural intuition tells you—and you will likely find that in the way your body feels. Tension, vulnerability, pleasure, comfort, openness—it helps to stay in touch with your body's feelings, since they will tell what logical analysis cannot.

Friends may be able to help with this, especially by reminding you of your higher ideals and how they can fit into a more structured belief system or set of principles that you are striving to create. The more you are able to find practical and meaningful ways to apply those higher ideals, the more you will be able to reap the benefits of finding your true path in your life's direction.

GEMINI

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 6th House of work and service, paid or volunteer, health and healing, analysis and organisation, and your contribution to the world.)

It is now time to manifest your natural intuition, ideals and principles in practical ways, which have been developing for the last couple of weeks. In fact, this can now become a time of healing by applying that intuition to the feelings, needs, hopes and dreams that lurk under the surface in simple details, daily events and small efforts.

The healing process is complex. On one hand you may be trying to formulate all those simple details into a bigger picture that will transform them into something greater than the sum of their parts. For example, you might want to bring new meaning and purpose to your work or your health.

On the other hand, it may be necessary to take things one disappointingly slow step at a time. In the meantime, you are struggling to find the "wind beneath your wings" that will carry you to a mountaintop of fulfilment. And you must also deal with the natural limitations that occur when you try to manifest an ideal in the "real world."

So where is the healing? It lies in following through with the efforts you have already begun (or wanted to begin), especially in the past two weeks. You may not reach the ultimate result you're hoping for, but that doesn't make the attempt any less noble or worthwhile. And your noble aspirations may have a few surprises for you yet, although you might not appreciate the implications until around August or September. For now, keep putting one foot in front of the other and finish what you started.

CANCER

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 11th House of friends, peers, colleagues, associates, co-workers, groups, organisations, community at large, and vision and hopes for the future.)

You are in a position now to cultivate better social connections, especially by asserting yourself and bringing out your unique gifts to the world. This might involve a new project or putting plans into action. Friends, associates and groups can be allies in doing this, although there may be some tension involved with them.

The resources you need may lie within limitations that seem to decrease your self-expression and make you feel a bit vulnerable or obsessive. However, there are treasures contained in your social connections that can help you forge a better balance of power with the world around you. For example, friends might encourage you to find pleasures and comfort within the bounds of discipline and common sense, rather than resorting to overindulgence or deprivation.

It is important to remember that you are not without power now. And the effectiveness of that empowerment lies in whether you assert yourself to defend and protect your needs (or those of others), or whether you simply react from a vulnerable emotional place inside. You have the ability to use your power in a healthy and positive way if you can stay focused and not succumb to fears that you won't be able to live up to an exaggerated image of what you think empowerment is "supposed to" look like.

The value of individuality can easily become lost in the world of the Collective (friends, associates, society, etc.). Yet, without that connection, the world can be a lonely, alienating place. The more you can find a balance between these perspectives, the more you will be able to access empowered courage and a sense of spiritual liberation.

CANCER

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 5th House of identity, individuality, selfhood, children, fun, love affairs, creative self-expression and joi de vivre.)

You are challenged to find deeper meaning and bonding within your "inner self" by exploring who you are deep down inside. The catalyst for this might be your interactions with children, with people you nurture, or with people who nurture you. These interactions might involve power struggles or undercurrents that are difficult to identify or clarify. Or, you may be breaking through to a deeper level of connection with your creativity and inner wisdom.

There has been no shortage of powerful emotional energy flying around to work with in the last couple of weeks! In order to tap into it, you have needed a sense of personal philosophy and wisdom that works best when focused on tolerance, compassion, empathy and acceptance.

Now there is a shift happening that calls for you to explore the idealism you hold, and perhaps how those ideals confuse or obscure your ability to accept yourself for all of who you are—warts and all. How you make yourself feel strong and in control could become a bit manipulative or deceptive—even unintentionally—if you aren't honest with yourself and others about what your true feelings, needs and boundaries are.

This is a time when you have an opportunity to discover ways to bring your authentic Self to the surface—the question is how. It will work best if you can take the risk to be upfront, clear and grounded about what you need. You have developed some courage in the last few weeks that you can draw on. Just be careful not to confuse being gently assertive with passive aggressive.

LEO

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 10th House of career, goals, ambitions, authority, public recognition, Mother (or Father), social reputation and roles in society.)

You are in a position now to take steps to implement plans and ambitions, which might include a new project, a promotion at work, a new direction in your life, or some situation in which you take on increased authority.

Your best resource is the ability to act behind the scenes or in a way that is sensitive to the situation or people involved. To tap into that resource, it will help to recognise that not all displays of authority, power or strength must be "in yer face." In fact, you will get farther if you take a "fisted hand in the velvet glove" approach.

Your biggest obstacle lies in the idea that it might feel like your authority is being challenged. This could make you feel the need to compensate by becoming authoritarian or rigid. Or, you might feel the weight of others who come across this way and conclude that there is little that can improve your relationship with them.

No matter how it manifests in your life, it is the friction from these conflicts and struggles that can actually strengthen you in the process of struggling with them. The more you are able to formulate a sense of meaning, which can be used to fuel and inspire your efforts, the more you will discover a lightness and sensitivity in your source of power. This can enable you to resist getting stuck in the interpersonal tensions and stay focused on what is truly important to you.

LEO

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 4th House of family, Father (or Mother), childhood, home base, need for nurturing, security and belonging, and the past.)

You are challenged to reach back into your roots to discover a part of your past that may have become lost or left behind. This may be a part of yourself that now needs to be reclaimed and added to your arsenal of resources to achieve your goals. Or, it might be about renewing your connection to a family member who challenges you.

This is likely to strongly affect (or be affected by) your current relationships and interactions. In the last couple of weeks there has been an abundance of intuitive, emotional and creative energy. To tap into it you have had to commit to putting this energy to productive use, especially in your career, goals and assuming authority. The Full Moon now brings a shift toward a focus on the past roots of your situation, especially how it continues to affect your passion, creativity, relationships and ambitions—in both positive and negative ways.

Your close relationships may have hindered you from being able to do this easily in the past couple of weeks. Check now to see if part of your difficulty is that you are idealizing others or expecting too much of them, or even that the person is not quite what they seem to be. It may be possible to acknowledge that now and begin to demystify your relationship.

On the other hand, those close to you might have challenged you recently to embrace and accept some difficult truth. It may be possible now to surrender to that which cannot be changed about your situation, while taking a creative approach to what can be.

VIRGO

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 9th House of spirituality, beliefs, truth-seeking, justice, philosophy, knowledge, teaching/learning, publishing, long-distance travel, foreign lands and languages, and multiculturalism.)

You are in a position now to reach for a greater sense of meaning and understanding about how to apply spiritual principles in practical ways. This is something you have been working on for a while, and this month gives you the opportunity to take some strides toward that practical manifestation.

You are finding ways to balance the power of higher understanding and truth with the practical application of that truth. This is tricky for a number of reasons. For one thing, there is the risk that too much of the essential nature of your ideals, principles and inspiration will become lost in the translation from spiritual to practical. But you've been working with this issue for a while and you are now in a position to put your learning into action.

Friends, associates and groups can be resources to you now. Perhaps they can provide valuable feedback and encouragement that gives you the support and emotional strength you need right now. Loved ones and others who are close to you may be both a help and a hindrance in some way. The manifestation of your inspired vision may be challenged as to its value, or you may have to be especially diplomatic and careful with disagreements or concerns that they have.

However, you have the ability to communicate directly and powerfully now, which can speak to the higher purpose and vision of what you want to accomplish. Just remember that directness may cut through resistance quickly, but it is patience, compassion and deeper understanding that will convey the whole picture in the most useful way. Both approaches have their uses now.

VIRGO

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 3rd House of intellect, communication, ideas, perceptions, learning, neighbours, commerce, short-distance travel, and information exchange.)

You are challenged to take your development of spirituality, principles, ethics, philosophy and expanding your horizons, and find a way to express them from a personal point of view. It's not enough to just map out the fundamentals; nor to raise up the simplicity of life to see its meaning in the grand scheme of things. It is important that your personal experience be part of the equation, and to do that you need to become aware of what your experience is and find ways to communicate it.

In the last couple of weeks, there has been an abundance of feeling, creative and intuitive energy that has cried out for expression and acknowledgement. In order to tap into this energy, it has been necessary to grasp far-reaching implications of your actions and experiences in small, practical ways—to embrace the simplicity of the overall pattern rather than simply listing the facts.

A shift is now taking place that seeks to open up a vast span of meaning in your life. The catch is that if you try to keep track of every little detail and every step in the process, you are likely to just become confused or disappointed.

On the other hand, if you can surrender to the idea that those details, facts and basic steps all dance together to form larger patterns, you will likely find that a greater sense of meaning emerges. It will then be easier to know how to speak to the bigger picture of what you see, using your personal experience and perspective of it.

LIBRA

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 8th House of power, empowerment, control, intensity, deep psychology, death, rebirth, transformation and sexuality.)

You are in a position now to establish a more solid base of empowerment by taking on authority and moving toward your goals and ambitions. This can be a valuable support to your efforts to strengthen your resources, finances and material base (possessions, assets, etc.).

In the process of doing this, you may feel encounter challenges to your self-esteem and values. You may feel that you aren't getting the supportive feedback from friends and associates that you were expecting, or you might have to try extra hard to win their approval. This can help to strengthen you, however, since it may be helpful to do a reality check to see how solid your plan of action really is. Ultimately you can (and perhaps should) make your own decision about what values, philosophy and ethics to use when applying any form of empowerment, force or strength.

This could play out in the areas of your work (be that paid employment, volunteer work or a project you're involved in) or your health. You may have to walk a fine line of diplomacy and compromise between taking a stand for something you are passionate about, versus having to hold back in your self-expression and personal freedom in order to conform to the expectations of others.

However, you may find there are unexpected opportunities in these areas that can support your need to take a strong position without becoming locked into stubbornness. The more you are able to work out the question of how to balance issues affecting your empowerment—control, stubbornness, (over)indulgence and (over)confidence—the more you will have access to an intuitive flow that is far more empowering than you would think.

LIBRA

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 2nd House of finances, income, expenses, possessions, resources, self-worth, and material security and values.)

You have been working at some level with ethical, philosophical and empowerment considerations. You now have an opportunity to apply what you've learned to finances, resources and possessions, and to the values of how/why you go about this. There is an importance aspect about what these things mean to you personally, giving you a chance to explore the emotional, psychological and spiritual issues that you have around material security and wealth.

In the last couple of weeks you have had opportunities to bring creativity and intuition to your work, goals, finances and the contributions you make to the world. In order to fully tap into this, you have had to strengthen your position and perhaps wrestle with issues of whether you deserve what you want and whether your contribution or "currency" is enough.

There is now a shift that brings these issues to a larger context. The question of whether you have earned the rewards you seek might now become focused on whether the Universe is prepared to support you and your efforts. If you get stuck in the feeling that what you have to give isn't enough, there may be a bigger issue to explore in terms of your relationship to the Universe. However, your increased empowerment may also help you see the sacredness in imperfect human nature, so you can grapple with these larger issues without getting lost in them.

There is potential now for all this spiritual hard work to have a positive healing effect on your close relationships and interactions. Don't be discouraged if all the philosophical loose ends are not accounted for. Trust the process.

SCORPIO

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 7th House of love, balance, harmony, close relationships, marriage, partnership, inter-connectedness with others, style of interaction, lovers and adversaries.)

You are in a position to take a fresh view on struggles you have had in relationships, especially concerning interactions that have challenged your self-confidence, your principles or your spiritual beliefs. You have a strong ally in this quest through your ability to stand up for what you believe. This will probably work best by using assertiveness rather than aggression, and by focusing on defending the rights of the vulnerable rather than self-righteously (over)reacting out of insecurity.

Your have been struggling to make your mark in the world and build something solid on a foundation (your support system, past experiences, inner security) that may have often seemed mushy, unstable or undependable. You are challenged to strengthen your quest to solidify your ambitions, goals and authority by working on relationship dynamics that interfere with this.

You have the courage inside you to do this, even though taking a stand may seem a bit pointless. The truth is you stand to gain strength and self-confidence just from the trying. It is important that you not confuse strength with stubbornness or confidence with superiority. Even if it feels like the other person is doing this, you have the opportunity now to find ways to get beyond these defensive reactions, which can help the situation.

By valuing yourself, you can walk that fine line between relationship challenges in the present and their echoes from the past. If you're tempted to be too hard on yourself, stay focused on the knowledge that you are "okay" just because you exist, and the fact that you are an evolving work in progress does not negate that. Allow yourself to take in this kind of spiritual validation and support.

SCORPIO

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 1st House of self, outer personality, appearance, vitality and self-assertion.)

You are challenged to look deep inside yourself to see the Truth about the roots of the dynamics you have been working with in the last couple of weeks. That means being able to see that personal flaws and shortcomings are human and worthy of healing and compassion, rather than judgment or scorn.

In the past couple of weeks you have had access to a lot of energy to apply to creativity and spirituality. In order to tap into this, you have had to identify concrete issues, resources and blocks in the way you relate to others, especially in terms of how they tend to echo past experiences.

Now there is a shift toward looking at how those past echoes have also affected your relationship to the Universe. Your relationship to your parents (or their relationship to each other) may hold a valuable clue for you. In what ways does your relationship to the Universe reflect your relationship with your parents?

There are likely to be mixed implications to this. On one hand, your ability to engage your enthusiasm, energy and motivation might have become somewhat diluted, as a result. On the other hand, this might also have prevented you from becoming too detached from your Inner Child, which ultimately makes it easier to integrate all of who you are.

There is a valuable opportunity now to explore these deeper issues about how emotions and spirit are connected in you. One great way to work with this energy is creatively. This could mean being artistic, experimental, innovative in your philosophy, or finding imaginative ways to be a champion to your Inner Child and human needs.

SAGITTARIUS

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 6th House of work and service—paid or volunteer—health and healing, analysis and organisation, and your contribution to the world.)

You are now in a position to create a healing process in your life by working with some of the issues you have struggled with recently. In a way this might be regarded as a kind of "healing crisis," but don't let the term scare you. This is about new strength being forged out of difficulty and challenge—a bit like exercise strengthens a muscle.

You do have the power available to see you through this, although you'll need to reach deep inside you to get it. In that internal cavern, there may be movements in the shadows. Do you feel your actions are being judged or threatened, or are you being secretly supported from behind the scenes? By empowering yourself with a courage that defends and protects your vulnerability (or that of others), you will be able to see those shadows more clearly and accurately, instead of automatically reacting to whatever you fear lurks there (which isn't necessarily there).

The more you are able to stay balanced and grounded during this challenge, the more you will have access to energy that is empowering, liberating and inspiring. This will also help you walk a fine line between convincing yourself that you're incapable of "getting" the bigger picture versus striving to apply your understanding of the situation in practical ways.

Although this month is full of challenge and obstacles, there are rewards that will strengthen you in ways that may be surprising and paradoxical, and could bring you closer to your dreams than you expect. Trust the process and keep paddling the boat.

SAGITTARIUS

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 12th house of spirituality, compassion, isolation, inner focus, meditation, escapism, addiction, and universal love and beauty.)

You are challenged to seek a spiritual connection in your personal and creative experiences, including the "dark corners" that seem to harbour feelings and impulses that don't seem very "spiritual." By finding new ways to see these parts of you, a healing process can take place.

During the last couple of weeks, there has been an abundance of creative, emotional and intuitive energy. In order to tap into it, you have needed to find ways to put it to practical use while staying connected to its greater potential and implications, as well as wrestling with the natural limitations that occur when we try to manifest inspiration from a higher source.

There is a shift now toward a more specific connection with that Higher Source. You could encounter renewed inspiration and insight, possibly brought to awareness through stress or conflict. You might also have to face and deal with disappointment about the fact that much of that inspiration gets lost in translation. It's likely that there are deep personal implications for you about this, which require emotional self-honesty in order to identify and start to heal them.

If you start getting bogged down in ego-based emotions and issues, it may help to remember that it is by recognising and embracing those issues that you will be able to finally release them. As the saying goes, "You gotta feel it to heal it." Working more closely with these issues can help you see them as being a fundamental part of your human makeup. Shining light into that "darkness" does not eradicate what is there, but initiates a healthy (and necessary) integration of your human ego self with your Spirit or Higher Self.

CAPRICORN

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 5th House of identity, individuality, selfhood, children, fun, love affairs, creative self-expression and "joi de vivre.")

You are now in a position to strengthen your sense of self and plant seeds of self-esteem and self-worth. Just as every sprout must push its way out of the shell and struggle to rise above the ground in order to establish its momentum of growth, this is also a time of struggle for you.

You are challenged to use current obstacles and difficulties to discover new ways to expand out into the world of friends, associates, groups and society at large. Taking on everyone at once may be overwhelming or just impractical, so focusing on one interaction at a time can help you take this in manageable steps.

There may be a fine line to walk between supporting the growth of these new opportunities versus the concern that you may not have the resources to make it happen, or that your ability to value yourself and your goals may not be enough to sustain you through this process. It can help to change your focus—instead of sharpening your perception of the situation and trying to force yourself to live up to harsh standards (especially your own!), try blurring your mental focus a little to take in the bigger context in which all this is happening. You don't have to accomplish this all at once.

It will help to establish a balance between moving out to connect with the outside world versus hesitating to move forward before you're absolutely sure you're ready. The more you can do this, the more you will be able to access powerful supportive energy that will help you see new opportunities and possibilities and act on them.

CAPRICORN

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 11th House of friends, peers, colleagues and co-workers, groups, organisations, community at large and vision of the future.)

It is time to take that step and put yourself out into the world; to interact with the Collective (friends, associates, groups, society). However, it is important that you take your "Inner Child" with you—meaning that it's not enough to simply go out into the world and go through the motions, nor enough to believe you can do this by inspiration alone. The transformation you seek will work best if you can stay connected to the inner part of you that feels a bit shy or vulnerable in the face of that vast Collective.

The past couple of weeks have brought opportunities to connect with others through creativity, empathy and passion. In order to tap into this energy, you have had to develop a solid sense of who you are and find ways to bring a strong inner foundation to your interactions with the world. To do this, you may have had to challenge your sense of worthiness, your sufficiency or lack of resources, and your philosophical attitude about material wealth.

There is a shift now toward a perspective of a "global economy," both literally and metaphorically. Literally, it could mean you need to look beyond any wishful thinking you have about your finances to see the bigger picture. Metaphorically, you may need to expand your context of self-worth and material security to a broader, more compassionate perspective.

You are preparing the ground for a much bigger process of spiritual growth, which comes into focus later this year. Now is the time to take a closer look at your ideals, dreams and source of inspiration...as well as the illusions, disappointments and wishful thinking that obscure your "vision." Friends and associates may be good resources to help with this.

AQUARIUS

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 4th House of family, Father (or Mother), childhood, home base, need for nurturing, security and belonging, and the past.)

You are now in a position to make some new beginnings that will grow over time. Think of this as the time to sow seeds on fertile ground, symbolically speaking. The condition of that "fertile ground" is important—you need to make sure your foundation is prepared for that growth. That means gathering together your support system, past experiences and other resources.

It will help to take stock of what resources you have and what you still need to make it all happen (emotionally, materially, socially, spiritually, psychologically, etc.). You have the courage and motivation available to move forward with this preparation, especially if you approach in terms of defending or watching over whatever you are creating—like a mother bear is fierce when she needs to protect her cubs, but is also nurturing and caring toward those cubs.

Your goals, plans, hopes and dreams can now find a concrete beginning in the gradual manifestation process. This is not without its challenges, of course. This involves drawing on what you've learned from recent struggles in close relationships, and balancing this against the need to strengthen your sense of self and what you bring to interactions with others. In order to create a new beginning, you might first have to let go of something else that has run its course.

You might question whether your supply of finances, resources, self-value and vision are enough to make this happen, and you may need a lot of diplomacy, compromise and strategy to keep any self-doubt from interfering with your growth potential. It will help to take this one step at a time. The more you can establish this careful balance of intention, motivation and vision, the more you will discover great courage and inspiration to draw from, which can move you forward like a sailboat in the wind.

AQUARIUS

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 10th House of career, goals, ambitions, authority, public recognition, Mother (or Father), social reputation and roles in society.)

This a time when you may be putting that new beginning into action, or perhaps you are seeing your goals finally starting to take shape. It's possible that you might feel a bit disappointed with the results, or you might find it difficult to determine whether you're truly seeing something happening or whether it's more wishful thinking. Trust the process!

In the last couple of weeks, a lot of creative and productive energy has been available to you. In order to tap into this effectively, you've needed to ensure you are building on a solid foundation. That means coming to terms with the ways that your goals, hopes and intentions might be less than what you think they should be. Or, perhaps you've had to find ways to integrate human imperfections and use creativity to fill in the gaps where there are human shortcomings.

There is a shift now that takes you into a broader context of spiritual vision. The more you have been able to work both compassionately and realistically with any shortcomings, imperfections or gaps in your plans, the more you will now be able to connect this to a vision of a compassionate Universe that really WANTS to support your efforts.

If you are still struggling with issues of self-acceptance or fears of inadequacy, you might feel a little overwhelmed or lost in the current broader context of spiritual Oneness and a sense of longing for what you feel is lacking. It may help to stay focused on your vision of what you're trying to achieve. Remember that leaps of faith can often be accomplished by breaking free of whatever is holding you back. Taking the risk to believe in yourself can be healthy; being reckless and disregarding the consequences is probably not.

PISCES

NEW MOON in TAURUS

April 27 to May 27, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 3rd House of intellect, communication, ideas, perceptions, learning, neighbours, commerce, short-distance travel, and information exchange.)

You are now in a position to gather information that will eventually grow into a much deeper understanding than initially seems possible. Raw ideas can blossom into profound wisdom, and increasing awareness can expand into a transformative spiritual connection with the Universe.

You can find the spark that sets it all in motion from within your assertive energy, self-esteem and courage to act on your convictions—however, this will work best if it's done in a sensitive, caring way (not aggressively, abruptly or reactively).

There is always a challenge, and yours comes from the existential struggle you've been working on for a while. At a deep level, that struggle is rooted in the need to come to terms with the paradox of how something so pure and ideal (the human spirit) can become so imperfect and limited (a natural occurrence of physical existence). It is also about how to take this paradox and find ways to manifest it in practical ways without losing so much in the translation that it becomes discouraging instead of satisfying.

However, you have enormous resources and energy to draw on now to help you in this quest. There's an old saying that might help you understand the paradoxical relationship between imperfection and wisdom: "Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment." The more you find a balance between the simplicity of small steps and the inspiration of visionary possibilities, the more you will be able to tap into the spontaneity and courage that can set your spirit free.

FULL MOON in SCORPIO

May 13, 2006

(Takes place in your solar 9th House of spirituality, beliefs, truth-seeking, justice, philosophy, knowledge, teaching/learning, publishing, long-distance travel, foreign lands and languages, and multiculturalism.)

You are challenged now to reach toward a vision of possibilities that will grow out of the seeds of ideas and insight that you've planted in the last couple of weeks. This isn't simply a shining vision that transcends reality, though; it requires you to look deep inside at your human (and therefore fallible) qualities, like ego-based feelings, needs, impulses and control issues.

You have recently had access to a lot of creative, intuitive and feeling energy. In order to tap into this and make use of it, you have had to ground your insights and vision in concrete ideas and communication. It might have seemed like you lost so much in the translation that it defeated the purpose of the exercise. Or, you might have discovered that there was a level of simple human experience that could access something greater than itself and therefore transcend itself.

There is a shift now that brings you into contact with that "something greater" and challenges you to connect more directly to the Source of the creativity, intuition and feelings that you have been working with. This may not be easy to do, since you must still work within your physical, reality-based experience.

One example is that you might do some creative work that taps into a higher level of imagination than you ordinarily do. Another example is that you might be called upon to share your insights, philosophy, advice or perspective, which requires that you tread a fine line between the concrete and the abstract.

You still have courage and inspiration to draw on in taking this journey, which can propel you through unpredictable yet liberating terrain. Make the most of it!
