What goes up, must come down
Spinning wheel got to go round
Talkin' 'bout your troubles, it's a cryin' sin
Ride a painted pony, let the spinning wheel spin...

No, you're not seeing double. And no, the sign isn't wrong. This really is a second New Moon in Aquarius!
The first one was Jan.20 at zero degrees. This one is in the last minute of the last degree, and in fact only 7 seconds of arc away from the next sign: 29:59:53.
In fact, the big beautiful round bellies of both the Sun and Moon are already hanging over the edge. Lightning fast, the Moon's next breath starts in Aquarius and finishes in Pisces – 10 seconds (that's clock time) after she scoots by the Sun, and the Sun makes his entrance an ephemeral 2˝ clock minutes later.
They couldn't be any closer to Pisces, and still not officially be in Pisces, unless they used a precisely calibrated sub-atomic particle beam!
If your computer program says this New Moon is at zero degrees of Pisces, it means your software is rounding the positions up to the nearest degree or the nearest minute. If it says it's at 29:60 of Aquarius, then it's rounding the arc up to the next minute.
Nevertheless, according to both Solar Fire and the American Ephemeris, this one is definitely (if barely) in Aquarius. Think of it as the astrological equivalent of the racehorse that came in second behind the winner that won by a nose. Or the Rocky Horror Picture Show's anticip--------------pation!
And in the end, the love you take
Is equal to the love you make

So, what does it all mean?
Let's start with the meaning of the last degree of a sign—any sign. 29-degrees-and-change. The last of the last degree. You're at the jumping off point, but you're not there yet. This is a place of transition – being poised in mid-air. Your feet have left the diving board but your body hasn't hit the Piscean waters yet.
This liminal space can be surreal and dreamlike: "...relating to the point (or threshold) beyond which a sensation becomes too faint to be experienced."And since we're leaning into flowing Pisces, this quality is likely to be even more pronounced. But we are also still in conceptual Aquarius, which is not exactly known for being a sensitive, subtle or touchy-feely energy. The Aquarian side of this liminal experience may feel more like static electricity.
So this could feel like a spark that makes you jump in shock and surprise, and propels you forward to finish the step. The important part might not be about the journey from one state of mind to another, as much as how you respond to it.
Are you resisting and trying to put the brakes on? Are you impatient and chaffing at the bit? Do you feel it's moving too fast while you're still trying to get your aim for the best landing place? Or perhaps you're breathing an ecstatic sigh of relief that life is finally shifting?
Isn't it rich? Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground, You in mid-air.
Send in the clowns.
Isn't it bliss? Don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around, One who can't move.
Where are the clowns? There ought to be clowns.
~ Send in the Clowns, by Stephen Sondheim
What dominates the New Moon chart is a Yod aspect pattern.Pluto sextile Chiron (60°) and both are quincunx Jupiter (150°). Jupiter is also the handle of the chart, meaning it's off by itself one end of the zodiac while everyone else has a party on the other side. Jupiter in Leo feels glum, wishing he could join in the fun.
The Yod pointing to Jupiter could be experienced as ideas, insights and knowledge that don't seem to fit smoothly with the world around you. Your ideas might be brilliant and inspiring, but others may not be ready to hear or appreciate them. Or, you might be trying to figure out some Big Questions for which the only answers are unsatisfying or just don't make sense.
Since Jupiter is the chart handle, that part of you needs to find a way to be okay with this ambiguous or disquieting state. If Jupiter isn't at peace, the rest of the chart won't be either. Jupiter in this case means the spiritual seeker in you, the part of you that wants to understand your place in the universe, the sense of confidence that allows you to believe in yourself, and the part of you that can look toward the horizon and trust that no matter how dark the skies, a better day will eventually dawn.
Upbeat Jupiter is feeling anxious about Pluto's demand to face harsh reality and achieve a long, hard labour of transformation. Buoyant Jupiter is also troubled by Chiron's reminder that in order to get the most from the healing Piscean waters, you first have to become immersed below the surface. Jupiter understands the wisdom in these approaches, but right now he just wants to party and celebrate life!
Uranus in trine aspect (120°) comes to the rescue! He helps Jupey realize that he's going to have to figure it out for himself, which isn't a bad thing. It might not be easy or straightforward to find your own path and your own truth, but in the end the answers you come up with will make more sense to you than if you just accepted someone else's answers.
All my life's a circle, sunrise and sundown
The moon rolls through the nighttime,
Till the daybreak comes around
All my life's a circle but I can't tell you why
The season's spinnin' round again,
The years keep rollin' by...
~ Circle, by Harry Chapin
Another facet of this Aquarian New Moon is that from the previous New Moon to this one, we go from the alpha to the omega – from the first degree of the sign to the last degree. This gives you a learning curve that runs the gamut from first inhaling the Aquarian air that is shared by all around you to finally exhaling your experience and learning that is disbursed into the universe.
Whatever journey you've been on for the last 4 weeks, this will be the time when you gather up the essence of all your achievements, learning, wisdom, insights and ah-ha moments, and toss them into the Piscean stream where they will be received, discovered, encountered and absorbed by others. You probably won't have much control over how they're received or who receives them, so it's important to put your best out into the ether as mindfully as possible. You probably won't have much chance to do damage control if what you put out winds up creating problems.
At the same time, it's not good to over-analyze what to release and how to do it. To a large extent, you have to trust that the universal current will do what's best with what you have to offer. All you can really do is focus your intentions on the highest good for all, and then listen for what kind of echo comes back from the universe. This is cause and effect on a conceptual level.
So, you might be projecting your wishes into a better future, or reaching out to make better connections with the world around you, or sharing a unique perspective that you hope will make a difference to others in need, or leaving behind old resistance and finding the faith and courage to move forward into the unknown.
This is the time of the worlds colliding
This is the time of kingdoms falling
This is the time of the worlds dividing
Time to heed your call
Send your love into the future
Send your precious love into some distant time
And fix that wounded planet
With the love of your healing
Send your love, Send your love
~ Send Your Love, by Sting
Uranus and Pluto are also closing in on the last exact pass of their square aspect, which happens on March 16. We have gone through seven passes of this War of the Titans since 2012. Does this mean we can uncork the champagne on March 17 and declare the world a sane place again? Unfortunately no, but it is a milestone in the gradual journey that is unfolding within these planets' deep transformational conflict.
That doesn't mean you should leave the champagne in the wine cellar though! It's good to acknowledge milestones, to remind yourself that chaos does eventually give way to sanity, conflict does find a solution of some kind, and flood waters do reach a point of stasis and calm. It's just not likely to resolve itself like a TV sitcom where everyone goes home and lives happily ever after.
We have stirred up an enormous amount of collective crud under this transit, and it's going to take a long time and a lot of hard work yet to sift through the sludge and figure out what is what. This is a decluttering process in the collective consciousness of cosmic proportions. The mess is going to take some time to clear away, but when we're done, one way or another, we will have learned how to coexist on the planet together.
This is a huge and critical undertaking that requires us to unhook ourselves from the same-old-same-old automatic assumptions and reactions, and learn new ways to fit the pieces of life together. This isn't about winners or losers or good or evil – it's about growing up as a species so that we don't succumb to our persistent self-undoing.
How does this relate to this New Moon in Aquarius? This lunation also invokes that wrapping-up, recycling kind of momentum. Uranus (the modern ruler of Aquarius) and Pluto are about to complete the last sweeping motion by which they have been stirring the collective pot. Having been set in motion, these currents of upheaval will continue to circulate, but they will gradually play out naturally as the gravity of normalization brings the craziness down to a more manageable pitch.
In your own life, if you're feeling overwhelmed by the never-ending demands, chaos or disruption, take heart that you are moving gradually forward. One day at a time. One step at a time. One shocking spark at a time. One trauma at a time. Even if they get dumped on you all at once, you still have to sift through them one challenge at a time.
Keep your fire fed in whatever way you can to keep from getting stuck. Reconnect with nature. Reconnect with loved ones, friends and like-minded people. Or find some people who think in a different way than you, and learn something new by observing them. Find someone else who needs connection and give it away to them, especially if you can't find someone to give it to you. Just getting the energy flowing will help.
Just keep swimming…
~ Dory the Fish, Finding Nemo
There is currently a Stellium in Pisces in the New Moon chartconsisting of Venus, Mars, Chiron and Neptune. This adds more emphasis to the Pisces undertow that is pulling on the Sun and Moon, as well as deepening that ending-leading-to-a-new-beginning kind of experience.
This will become even more pronounced in the next New Moon, which is also a Solar Eclipse, since it takes place at 29° of Pisces – the last degree of the last sign.
We have been going through an extended period of bringing new energy into our lives, through four 0° New Moons in a row - October 2014, November, December and January 2015. The overall effect of this current New Moon is that we are now entering a time of letting go of that which cannot support, sustain and feed these new seeds.
In order to provide a nurturing environment for new energy to grow, it's necessary to weed out anything else that could significantly deplete what it needs to thrive.
Yet another piece of this ending-and-letting-go theme is that Mars is currently at 29° of Pisces – the last degree of the last zodiac sign. In fact, Mars is at the same degree as the upcoming Solar Eclipse (Mar.20), so this is kind of a prequel or preview of that eclipse energy. This is the waving of the flag to start your engines and get ready for take-off.
In moving forward, you are likely to leave a lot of rubber behind on the pavement, as Mars squeals into Aries the day after the New Moon in Aquarius. Venus follows him the day after that, and the two finally come together for the long awaited conjunction (see more about this below).
This is indeed time of letting-go and leaving-behind that may feel like you're doing an early spring cleaning of some part of your life. Out with the old, so that the new has room to flourish. Just keep swimming...
Nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time. It's easy.
Nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be. It's easy.
All you need is love. All you need is love.
All you need is love, love.
Love is all you need.

Happy Solar Return to all Pisces! While the Sun travels through Pisces we all have a chance to attune ourselves to our intuitive, creative, spiritual and reflective nature. This can be a time when dreams may become more important, meaningful or frequent, as the unconscious swells into consciousness. It is a time to spend quality alone time with yourself away from the noisy world, so that you can tune in to the still, small voice within. This might be done through meditation, prayer or seclusion. Although not necessary to do in seclusion, you might also connect with that inner space through music, art, dance, yoga, Tai Chi or walking a labyrinth. This is a non-rational space (not necessarily the same as irrational) that emerges from the formlessness of the unconscious full of possibilities for manifestation. Pisces holds the gateway to our source of creativity and our spiritual Source. It points the way to the Great Unknown, where all life begins. Therefore, while the Sun is in Pisces, we have a chance to meditate on our relationship to this womb of creative energy. So try your hand at writing poetry. Or, try drawing or painting, especially with your non-dominant hand. Immerse yourself in a warm bath and listen to the most beautiful music you can find. Walk through a labyrinth, or walk through a forest. Take some time to just BE.
It can be easier to take a logical, practical approach to problem-solving and decisions now. It's a good time to make plans and work out the logistics of how you're going to get from "here" to "there" in pursuing your ambitions. Or, you may find it's time to bring closure to finished goals, by distilling and systemizing what you've learned in the past several months. This will probably require a bit of effort on your part to make it happen, but the opportunity is there if you choose to take it. This transit can bring mental stability and the ability to apply your mental focus in a practical and grounded way. It may be easier to see things realistically and objectively. Creative energy can become productive and rewarding, if you use it methodically or logically.
Mars is in his own sign while in Aries, which stokes the fires of passion, enthusiasm, drive, and a pioneering spirit. Assertive, decisive action can come more easily now...but then, so can anger and conflict. This is a good time to initiate new projects and activities, and move old projects forward, taking advantage of the courage and daring that is in the air now. However, the results will be better if you are able to channel this energy through a focused goal, rather than going on impulse alone. The tendency to take risks is also high right now, which can be a mixed blessing. It's best to avoid complications and problems that can arise from being reckless or irresponsible, but do use this energy to muster the courage to take pre-planned action.
Your style of handling relationships, finances, resources and values now take on an attitude of assertiveness, directness and the pursuit of freedom and independence. Impulse buying may be a stronger temptation than usual, so be sure you can afford whatever it is! Your way of interacting may be somewhat more direct, open or flirtatious during this transit. You may have opportunities to acquire money quickly and casually...and spend it too! You may also be more open to trying new things in the areas of finances, relationships, interactions and your values. Trying out new ideas can take you into uncharted territory...which may or may not be welcome depending on how comfortable you are with change. But this still may be just what you need to get you out of a rut in the affected areas. This can also be a good time to celebrate and appreciate yourself just as you are, as a unique individual.
Diplomacy and harmony combine with forcefulness and enthusiasm under this transit. How you experience the results will depend in part on which you value more – winning (Mars dominant) or resolution (Venus dominant). One possibility is being able to negotiate agreements with others in assertive ways; another possibility is being able to confront others with gentleness and diplomacy. The courage to act could become either blunted or enhanced by an increased sensitivity to how your actions could affect others. Your ability to negotiate a diplomatic solution to a problem might be sabotaged by impatience, frustration or too much directness – or that same forcefulness might help by keeping things from getting bogging down or by injecting an infectious enthusiasm to the discussion. Although the effects could look very different in various situations, the best results will likely be found by using the best of both of these opposite energies.
This conjunction takes place in Aries, where Mars is the Ruler (in command) and Venus is in Detriment (opposite Libra, her sign of rulership, and therefore at a disadvantage). As these two battle it out to decide whose priorities will prevail, Mars is likely to be the winner since this is his domain. Venus, in order to survive the struggle, will need to amplify her aggressive, take-no-prisoners qualities.
It is sometimes said that Libra is really just a polite Aries. Therefore, this combination (being in Aries and confronted by its ruler, Mars) is likely to bring out her combative side. Rather than seeking resolution through compromise, discussion, mutual appreciation and harmony (the Libra way), Venus steeped in this much Aries is more likely to resolve issues with aggressive persuasion, debate, impulse and heated fusion. In other words, this is not the best time to try to bring out a kinder, gentler, flowing Venus side of yourself – you may find that side of her reluctant to come out of hiding! Instead, you may find it more effective to use instinct, passion and wild abandon. The danger here is going overboard and doing things you might regret later; for example, your sizzling libido, anger, jealousy or spending might go into overdrive, leaving you to live with unwanted consequences later.
Dominant Mars is only too happy to empower Venus to become an honourary Aries! When Venus feels desire and attraction, Mars is likely to give her an enthusiastic push to go for it. This can be exciting, invigorating and liberating, although it could also remove your usual inhibitions that you might wish later had stayed intact. The key is to be mindful about impulse shopping or spontaneous intimate encounters. Aim to use your powers for good, and be willing to accept the consequences of anything else.
It is necessary for you to come to grips with limitations, boundaries or expectations. If you have been avoiding some task or obligation, this transit might bring consequences from that avoidance or a warning of consequences to come. You might also encounter a situation that requires you to accept unwanted responsibility or restricts your freedom in some way. You might be faced with some part of your life being pruned back, either to rein in something that is out of control or to make room for new growth. This is likely to be more or less stressful depending on how comfortable you are dealing with responsibility, authority, limits and hard work. If you have a hard time with authority issues, you might find yourself in conflict with someone in authority under this transit – perhaps in part because your buttons are getting pushed. On the other hand, this could also be a time when you are challenged to take action or make a decision that involves taking on more responsibility. It is also a time when you may have to find better ways to deal with personal boundaries – accepting others' or learning to assert your own. You're bumping up against reality, so try to work constructively with it, not hurl yourself against it.
Stability in relationships and finances characterises this transit. You have increased ability to be disciplined about spending and to invest the hard work to maximise your earnings. Your ability to grasp the solid, realistic facts will help you choose wisely in your investments of both money and interaction with others. Commitment and structure are easier to achieve and embrace than change or taking risks. Self-worth can benefit now because you are less inclined to give in to mood swings. However, if you are prone to depression, you might want to be careful you don't become so grounded and stable that you lose touch with your sense of hope and potential. It is a good time to make concrete progress in matters involving beauty, love, harmony and balance. Keep your pleasures simple and humble for maximum benefit.
This is a great time for disciplined action that can produce grounded, specific and stable results. If you have a project that needs to push ahead to the next step, you may find this is a good time to do that. If you want to make progress with your ambitions, goals and plans, this can be a good time to make plans or to take action. You are likely to feel "together," capable and strong, giving you a serious, calm and realistic confidence. It's usually easier to control or restrain your more volatile emotions, and present yourself as someone who is stable and on top of things. This transit can bring sustained physical energy that doesn't burn itself out quickly and can pace itself for lasting endurance. Remember that the effects of this transit typically last only about a week or two, so make the most of it!
This can be a time of great creative ability by taking unfamiliar or little-used sources of inspiration and channelling them into self-expression. This may or may not be "creative" in the artistic sense of the word, but definitely can involve taking an inspired approach to problems and challenges. It is a great time to be romantic, creative, intuitive/psychic or spiritual. Just remember that inspiration still means you have to work for the results. Don’t confuse intuition with being able to take divine intervention for granted. You may experience profound faith in the bountiful blessings of the Universe under this transit, but don't just assume you'll be granted everything you wish for. What you pick up from others and your environment can also become mixed up with your own wishful thinking, making it hard to tell where you stop and the rest of the world begins. However, hope, optimism and imagination spring eternal. Your sense of self can become infused with a sense of vision and having a mission, feeling that you are truly a Child of the Universe. Enjoy it while it lasts, as this transit only lasts a few days, but do a careful reality check before you act on the magical possibilities before you.
This is a good time to let go of the "things" you don't need anymore. It's a time to release your creativity and transform them into new resources and assets. This could mean cleaning out your closets and selling the discards in a yard sale, for example. You might decide to change your hair style or something else about your appearance. Perhaps you discover that you're making a different impression on people than you intended, and this leads to a revision of your social skills. Or you could get feedback from someone close to you that challenges you to change your self-image. Something (or someone) that has been prominent in your life – in relationships, pleasure, partnerships, finances, possessions, beauty or appearance – is ready to be let go. You might need to say good-bye to someone you've been close to because the relationship isn't working anymore – or you might find you're able to let go of feelings that have been blocked and give yourself to a connection with someone. You might simply assimilate it into the background where it is no longer "front and centre," or you might need to cut ties altogether. Or, you could be ready to express something that has been brewing for a while, like creative self-expression or giving someone feedback. "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater" (as your grandmother used to say), but be on the lookout for something that is ready to subside from your priority list.
There is potential for brilliance and excitement under this transit. You may be more spontaneous, upbeat and eccentric than usual. If you are used to a fairly predictable lifestyle, it is a time when you may be inspired to experiment with something out of character. If you are used to being whacky, zany and impulsive, this transit can provide opportunities to express this. You may have an increased ability to "think outside the box" if you stretch your mind a little, and there is the possibility of having an "ah-ha!" experience, when answers and realisations fall into place. There is also the possibility of being mentally restless, so that it's hard to slow down your thoughts or apply yourself seriously to your responsibilities. Your attention span may be a bit short for a couple of days. This energy can be used to consider new ideas that seemed outlandish or impossible before, and see new potential in them.
Your thoughts and words can become amplified under this transit, which could bring a sense of adventure, a surge of ideas, and/or imbalance due to exaggeration. You may find it's hard to stop talking (or writing), your head is filled with so many possibilities. However, your judgment about the validity of your ideas may be a bit off, or you might feel the urge to overstate your position to keep from being misunderstood. Blame and judgment could creep into your perceptions of others or the other way around. This might spring from a need to find a greater meaning or truth in the facts, having difficulty bridging the gap between the raw information and the big picture. The trick is to keep a balance between simplicity and elaborate complexity. The challenge is to find ways to express, think about and understand the vast range of possibilities and meaning within the perceptions of everyday life. Not all of it will survive the translation, but enormous spiritual creativity can be generated in the trying.
Insight, ideas and inspiration characterise this transit. It is an excellent time to break free of old outmoded beliefs and judgments, which can make room for new perspectives, opinions and wisdom. Innovative ideas come together within an expanded context that gives them new meaning. You can breathe fresh air into your spiritual beliefs and opinions by taking an open-minded approach and trying on new ideas. Unexpected, unusual or "lucky" opportunities may arise that allow you to get out of old ruts and advance toward future possibilities. If you have been feeling stuck in your quest to gain truth, understanding, spirituality or meaning, this transit could bring a release that allows you to get past your resistance. However, even "good" aspects have their drawbacks and this is no exception. It can be tempting to sit back and allow the opportunities to come to you, but not follow through on them—being all ideas and no sustained action. Your behaviour could be somewhat erratic and unpredictable, as your direction may shift and change with every new possibility that presents itself. This transit's greater agenda is to open the door for you to stretch beyond your known horizons and touch the edge of the Universal Mind.
This is the second of three passes.
Mercury finally leaves the shadow—the part of the zodiac where it was retrograde. This means the confusion, delays and miscommunications of the last 2 months have mostly dissipated and things should be more or less back to normal (whatever that is). The difference is that you now have the benefit of seeing things from a different perspective after having reconsidered, rethought and rehashed information and perceptions over the past 2 months. This gives you more choices than you had before. In fact, you may find that although you thought something was a good idea a month or two ago, you now realize that a different approach, decision or way of understanding it is better. If you've been waiting until Mercury finished with the retrograde cycle before you made a final decision about something or taking action on something, this is the time to take another look at whatever that is. Just don't forget your common sense, and remember that Mercury is only one factor to take into consideration regarding the timing of a decision. Use your best judgment and wisdom.
Your luck and opportunity to attract money, love, resources and self-esteem are high right now. The flow of attraction (whether that is magnetizing people, things or opportunities) is riding a strong current right now. You could find it easier than usual to get the resources and abundance for whatever you need right now. On the other hand, "your eyes may be bigger than your stomach" (as mother used to say), meaning your desire may magnify your sense of need beyond what is wise. You may be tempted to spend, flirt or bluff your way through situations, preferring to ignore or avoid hardship, boundaries or drudgery. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but be careful you don't get your hopes up so high that you set yourself up for disappointment or make promises you can't keep. It's probably wise to balance this easy flowing energy with some discretion and good judgement.
The warm receptivity of Venus can become somewhat cool, detached and unpredictable when combined with Uranus. This is a good combination for carrying out a dispassionate strategy, or for networking with acquaintances and associates. It can also be a time when you might liberate yourself from old connections – for example, choosing to end a relationship, stepping away from an outworn friendship, or being open to experimenting with new kinds of connections with people. It can also be a time of impulse spending, or wanting to use your resources and finances for a humanitarian purpose. Finances may become a bit unpredictable or unstable – either bringing income when you didn't expect it, or spending it when you may or may not have. Whether you want to liberate your own life or someone else's, this is a time when freedom and independence become the focus of pleasure. Experimentation is also tempting, and while this can be invigorating, it might also leave you with consequences you hadn't anticipated. Embrace your spontaneity, but don't divorce your judgment.
Relationships and interactions are likely to be deep, intense and transformative under this transit. The same goes for your sense of beauty, and your material and financial dealings, which may require you to delve far deeper than usual to discover the truth under the surface of things. You may encounter the dark shadow of your desires – the obscure, secret or unconscious hunger that hides underneath the "politically correct" face you show to the world (and to yourself. This is a challenge to be resolved in some way. It might bring out conflict rooted in envy or jealousy, if someone has something (or someone) that you feel you are entitled to. Or, it might prompt you to reach very deep into your soul to find your inner beauty and value. You may be challenged to develop empathy or empowerment about something that initially seemed undesirable, unforgivable or scary. This transit can show you the problem areas that need to be transformed and healed. And seeing these more clearly can be a catharsis that sets that transformative healing in motion.
This transit's range of influence is roughly 2 weeks before and after this date, although it reaches its peak now. The South Lunar Node is where we let go of, move away from, express or release something. Although the South Node can involve loss of some kind, it can also signify that what had previously been actively in the "foreground" of your life is now moving into the "background" and becoming assimilated as simply one part among many, rather than being a specific focus. Often whatever is being released is something we took in, embraced or began to move toward when Mars passed over the North Lunar Node. The North Node is sometimes known as the Dragon's Head, which eats or consumes. The South Node is known as the Dragon's Tail, which... well you get the idea. ;-) Since this involves Mars, what is being embraced or released likely has to do with anger, aggression, assertiveness or forcefulness. This might also be about sex or physical energy or something being set into motion. Depending on your natal chart, this could also involve the houses Mars rules and resides in, as well as where the current transit is taking place.
