If you want to identify me, ask me not where I live,
or what I like to eat, or how I comb my hair,
but ask me what I am living for, in detail,
ask me what I think is keeping me from living fully
for the thing I want to live for.

So, let me get this straight —or rather, let me get this right —or let me put this correctly —or let me speak directly and precisely to the point at hand: Virgo is obsessed with perfection.
Whew! Okay, that was exhausting. I'd better schedule a nap...
Seriously, being on Virgo's agenda is hard work! If you have Virgo strong in your chart (Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Midheaven, Mercury, Venus, Mars...) then it tends to come naturally. And in that case, to resist the call of perfection and continual improvement is what is exhausting!
If Virgo is not strong in your chart then Virgo energy can feel like a thousand needles drilling into your brain as you try to remember and address every miniscule detail, fearing that if even one molecule is out of place then the world may come to a screeching halt.
Oh wait—did I just describe natural-born Virgos??
This Full Moon in Virgo is bound to be busy, demanding, persnickety and sometimes annoying. At the same time it can also be entertaining, creative, healing and productive. It all depends how you use this dynamic energy, of course.
In the Full Moon chart the Sun is conjunct Chiron, and since both Virgo and Chiron are associated with health, struggle and healing, this could easily be a theme for this Full Moon and the 2 weeks that unfold after it. You might have health issues to deal with, or you might find you have something to offer someone else that is healing to them. It might be something as simple as chicken soup or doing the dishes, giving you or them a chance to relax (depending on whether you're the healer or the healee).
Details matter, it's worth waiting to get it right.
~ Steve Jobs
Even more than perfection and healing, though, Virgo is about getting things done. Whatever works is Virgo's mandate, and if it can be done to perfection, that would be ideal, but the bottom line is that whatever is done has to work.
And that means having a rather well defined idea of what that is supposed to look like. In other words, before you know what your Virgo goal is, you have to have the vision of where you're going and how you'll know when you get there.
Virgo positively lives to be of service. Our celestial maiden wants to be helpful; to make a difference and to leave the person, the situation, the project or the world in better condition than when she found it. Improvement is her cornerstone, but this needs to be done in the name of a greater purpose, vision or context.
In this sense, she shares a lot with the Pisces fishes on the other side of the zodiac from her. Pisces also believes in the sanctity of the higher purpose and is easily drawn into a shining idealized vision of what could be, what should be, what might be and what must be.
Virgo and Pisces are two sides of the same coin. Although they share much in common about the challenges that they stand up to, they deal with those challenges in very different ways. Virgo acts in ways that are practical, realistic, concrete and no-nonsense. She's prepared to do whatever has to be done, even if it's icky or arduous or exhausting.
This is the archetype of the nurse who deals with soiled linens and bodily substances. Virgo is capable of enormous strength and courage, as she stands her ground to ensure that her patients get the treatment and support they need to get better. She does what she can to alleviate their suffering and must remain steadfast in the face of what she can't. Virgo healing touch isn't about winning a popularity contest; it's about getting you to the next level where healing can take place. And sometimes that means doing things you don't like, things that are uncomfortable and things that seem boring and tedious.
Pisces, on the other hand, is more about administering to the spirit than the body. It's aimed at connecting with something greater than oneself so that you can grow into something greater than who you are right now. Similar to Virgo, there is a selflessness that's necessary in Pisces, where you have to put your preferences, ego needs and attachments aside in order to embrace and unite with a greater result.
At its highest, Pisces is about the concept of ideals, meaning and purpose, which translates into a peak experience that is intangible yet unmistakable. As much as Virgo aims for a physical or practical outcome, Pisces aspires to an abstract or spiritual one. It's not that Pisces isn't interested in the real-world aspect of what it does, but that any tangible result must contain the essence of the higher purpose and vision that inspired it.
Find meaning. Distinguish melancholy from sadness. Go out for a walk. It doesn’t have to be a romantic walk in the park, spring at its most spectacular moment, flowers and smells and outstanding poetical imagery smoothly transferring you into another world. It doesn’t have to be a walk during which you’ll have multiple life epiphanies and discover meanings no other brain ever managed to encounter. Do not be afraid of spending quality time by yourself. Find meaning or don’t find meaning but 'steal' some time and give it freely and exclusively to your own self. Opt for privacy and solitude. That doesn’t make you antisocial or cause you to reject the rest of the world. But you need to breathe. And you need to be.
~ Albert Camus, Notebooks 1951-1959
The Full Moon chart has a strong theme combining Virgo and Pisces. The Moon is in Virgo, the Sun is in Pisces. This provides the foundation of this polarity, striving for a balance between the material and immaterial, the practical and the ideal, the precise and the abstract.
The chart has two planetary "handles." A handle is a planet off on its own on one side of the chart, while the others are on the other side. The handle is the best energy to hold the chart with – when it's happy, the rest of the chart is more likely to be happy too. When it's frustrated, the rest of the chart picks up on this and may find it hard to maintain a positive focus.
In this case, we have two handle planets: the Virgo Moon and Jupiter in Leo. You could think of this almost like a wheel barrow, where you have to get a solid grip on both planets in order to drive the chart effectively.
The Virgo Moon indicates the need to deal with practical matters – to fine-tune your actions and intentions so that you achieve your goals in concrete, definable, measurable ways. For example, you might want to get healthier, so you decide to start buying organic veggies, or you might improve your fitness by walking 10,000 steps per day for the next 6 weeks, or you might schedule your time so that you get a full 8 hours of zzz's per night for the next week.
The key is to be specific so that you can assess whether or how much you achieved your goal. This doesn't have to be (nor should it be) an all-or-nothing endeavour – if you get your 10,000 steps in 4 days a week instead of 7, it's important to acknowledge and give yourself credit for that too, even as you vow to do a bit better next week.
The other handle planet is Jupiter in Leo. Jupiter, as it turns out, is the traditional planetary ruler of Pisces, so here we have the Virgo-Pisces duo again. Whereas these two signs tend to be about putting your personal desires aside to some extent, the Leo side of Jupiter brings our human need for personal acknowledgement and reward back into the equation.
That doesn't necessary mean self and selflessness are at war, although that could happen. Remember that a double handle requires us to grab the chart with both hands – in this case, Moon and Jupiter; Virgo and Leo. It's not about satisfying personal rewards and dismissing altruism, nor about bearing the severity of self-sacrifice at the expense of ego fulfilment, but about finding ways to balance both.
Everything in moderation can allow room for both of these energies to coexist cooperatively, creatively and productively.
Our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify.
~ Henry David Thoreau, Walden and Other Writings
Carried over from the last few weeks, there is a widening but still potent multiple conjunction of Venus, Mars and Uranus in Aries. This combination of energies has produced a lot of tension in relationships, interactions, battles over whose desires and ambitions will dominate, and the need to clear away complications and obstacles that get in the way of straightforward progress and improvement.
This will be with us for a little while longer. The urge to cut through the tangles and break free of limitations will build for another week after the Full Moon, approaching the exact Mars-Uranus conjunction on Mar.11, and will continue to play out for another week or so after that. Suffice to say they will keep things lively leading up to the Solar Eclipse in Pisces on Mar.20!
Venus is still tightly conjunction Uranus, which might make it necessary to be a bit daring and inventive when it comes to how you handle resources, finances, pleasure and social connections. Imbalance is the new balance! The trick is to keep the imbalance moving so that the movement becomes the stabilizing force.
Venus is just starting to separate from both Mars and Uranus, and leaves their orb of influence after their conjunction becomes exact on Mar.11. This suggests that the part of relationships that is about connection and cooperation may become somewhat "beside the point," as the need for direct action becomes the main focus of your interactions. Alternatively, issues around finances and resources may regroup around the need for clear, crisp decision making. Just be careful about overspending on impulse.
What I need is perspective. The illusion of depth, created by a frame, the arrangement of shapes on a flat surface. Perspective is necessary. Otherwise there are only two dimensions. Otherwise you live with your face squashed up against a wall, everything a huge foreground, of details, close-ups, hairs, the weave of the bedsheet, the molecules of the face. Your own skin like a map, a diagram of futility, criscrossed with tiny roads that lead nowhere. Otherwise you live in the moment. Which is not where I want to be.
~ Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale
There is a very complex and very tight pattern of aspect figures in the Full Moon chart. This is due to there being 6—count 'em—6 planets at 14 -15°! That's over half the chart! They form a number of aspect configurations, some of which are more common and some not so much.
Pluto forms a Wedge figure with the Sun-Moon opposition, being trine the Moon (120°) and sextile the Sun (60°). As the apex planet of the Wedge, Pluto can provide a creative outlet—or a convenient distraction—for the tension and struggle of the Sun-Moon – in other words, for the Virgo-Pisces axis.
In this case, the need to balance the concrete with the conceptual could be aided by Pluto's quest for empowerment which may provide a barometer for assessing your success – if you find you feel more empowered and connected to your passion, then you're probably on the right track. On the other hand, Pluto's obsession with control and power might pull the focus of the higher ideals in Virgo-Pisces back into the limitations of the ego.
An example might be where you convince yourself that domination over a person or situation where you feel threatened or inadequate is really a virtuous reaction because anything less would result in your own powerlessness or victimization. A better response might be to think of someone you admire for their selfless or giving nature, and think about how they might handle the situation.
I have so much to say to you. I want to begin at the beginning, because that is what you deserve.
I want to tell you everything, without leaving out a single detail.
But where is the beginning? And what is everything?
~ Jonathan Safran Foer, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
The Wedge is actually part of a larger figure that Bruno and Louise Huber called a Streamer pattern. (Aspect Pattern Astrology) The Venus-Uranus conjunction join in, becoming the apex of what I call an Irritation Wedge figure, where they are quincunx the Moon (150°) and semi-sextile the Sun (30°).
On one hand, you may feel the urge to develop innovative strategies around relationships, finances or satisfying your desires. On the other hand, the Full Moon in Virgo-Pisces energy may be more inclined to do things a bit more conventionally, or at least put greater priority to following a practical path than to straying away from it in the name of inventive creativity.
The result could be an annoying (or intriguing) tickle in how you approach that selfless, service or healing oriented agenda, as your creative and pleasurable side tries to tempt you with visions of excitement and playfulness.
The Sun-Moon opposition (being of service in a selfless, practically way) become the pivot point between the Pluto Wedge (empowerment as a creative outlet) and the Venus-Uranus Irritation Wedge (exciting liberation of desire and personal gratification).
When all the details fit in perfectly, something is probably wrong with the story.
~ Charles Baxter, Burning Down the House: Essays on Fiction
These figures are also linked together by the Uranus-Pluto square, which is coming down to the wire of the final exact pass on Mar.16. On one hand, the square might seem to just add more stress, complication, conflict and trouble to an already difficult situation, and there is some truth in that.
However, there is a kind of clarity and straightforwardness about the struggle of the square aspect that can be a refreshing change from the subtle adjustments and philosophical questioning of the Venus-Uranus Wedge.
The square is more in your face, unmistakable and straightforward. In other words, the difficulty and challenge of the square may contain a demanding problem that isn't easily solved, but you're much more likely to know where you stand, what the issues are and what is at stake.
As an example, think of how rain is more substantial and straightforward than fog. Rain can be problematic but you can deal with it – just bring your brawly and wear a raincoat. Fog is harder to deal with because you can still wind up feeling wet from the mist but there isn't any straightforward way to avoid it.
The Uranus-Pluto thunderbolt can be faced head-on more than trying to find a comfortable posture in the Venus-Uranus itchiness. In addition, the Uranus-Pluto is the bigger, bad-er problem, so if you can master its challenge then the prickly irritation of the Venus-Uranus may start to feel a whole lot easier to manage.
The amount of will power, ambition, vision and determination in this whole Streamer figure is substantial, and the Uranus-Pluto part of it means that the stakes are (or at least feel like they are) extremely high. As a result you may feel a huge urge to pull out all the stops and charge ahead, winner take all, in order to conquer the obstacles that dare to stand in your way. This can be a very positive thing if you are well grounded and being squeaky clean and honest with yourself about your motives. It's important to keep your eye on the big picture as much as on the specific focal point of where you're going.
On the other hand, there is the temptation to become obsessed with victory at any price, consequences be damned. That can be bad news since this kind of attitude could leave needlessly burnt bridges and the carcasses of former relationships strewn about behind you.
It's probably good to resist the urge to win your battles through deception, confusion, manipulation or other ways of cloaking your true feelings and motives. That doesn't mean bald-faced honesty is always the best policy – you'll have to figure that out according to the situation – but remember this: there's a difference between being selective about what you reveal, in the name of kindness, fairness or realism, versus cherry-picking the truth in order to manipulate the outcome.
We change our behavior when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing. Consequences give us the pain that motivates us to change.
~ Henry Cloud
With Mars coming up to conjoin Uranus as the final square to Pluto closes in, this energy could become quite volatile and urgent. The need for control could become obsession, frustration could become rage, and ambition could become fixated on a goal that's not in your best interest but which you are determined to force into being anyway. The best use of Mars is to move forward with a single step toward deep, transformative change, rather than trying to jam an entire process of growth into that step.
In the meantime, Venus is still Uranus' closest companion by conjunction, and being in forthright Aries she could feel the urge to defend her ground through seduction, aggression, control and intimidation with a smile. Better to aim for listening to your instincts and considering compromise as an important option in a difficult situation.
Aries is about pushing the boundaries, and Venus in Aries conjunct nobody-tells-me-what-to-do Uranus is unlikely to accept arbitrary limitations or suffer fools gladly. Anyone who is nestled in a belief in their own entitlement, without also including others in that circle in the name of equality, could find that others are more likely to challenge or reject them rather than support them.
Venus may be better used to weave an environment of "share and share alike." Uranus' humanitarian perspective is ripe to be used for the betterment of those around you as well as yourself. Pluto's transformative vibration can stimulate the passion to carry you through the process of deep change. And the Mars drive and enthusiasm can make it all happen with the greater good in mind.
Life sometimes gets so bogged down in the details, you forget you are living it. There is always another appointment to be met, another bill to pay, another symptom presenting, another uneventful day to be notched onto the wooden wall. We have synchronized our watches, studied our calendars, existed in minutes, and completely forgotten to step back and see what we've accomplished.
~ Jodi Picoult, My Sister's Keeper
Your sense of purpose is potentially strong now, being able to tap into a deeper level of energy and determination. Your personality may be more forceful now, which can be great if you need to make a strong impression but perhaps not so much in situations requiring delicacy or subtlety. You have greater ability to see below the surface of things now, although it may not be as easy to put it all together and understand what it all means. It can be possible to unearth secrets or get at the core of unconscious patterns (yours and others'). However, you'll have to work to harvest the fruit of these potentials, and some of the insights and benefits may not become apparent until later.
It's time to "spring forward" in North America and some areas of the Caribbean, Mexico and other locations. If your region observes Daylight Saving Time, set your clocks one hour later the night before, so that it will be the correct time the next day and you won't be an hour late for wherever you're going on Sunday.
For a few days, you may become focused on physical, spiritual or psychological healing...or you might become aware of the need for it due to problems. Your physical vitality may be more susceptible to health problems, and your inner or spiritual strength and sense of purpose may feel a bit weak or vulnerable. However, you might also experience new motivation to build up your strength and endurance on all levels. Therefore, this could be a time when you embark on fresh health or fitness goals, or new directions that carve reformed purpose out of previous hardships. Psychologically, you could become aware of the ways that your self-esteem is undermined or sabotaged – either by outside situations or people or you doing it to yourself without realising it, or even ways that you do this to someone else. This is a good time to observe and learn about how these issues operate in your life, what role you play in this dynamic, and how you could make different choices. By increasing your level of acceptance of human imperfection, of both yourself and others, you can strengthen those areas where you now feel vulnerable. Since self-esteem (yours and others') can be a bit fragile now, boosting self-confidence through praise, support, encouragement and confidence can have a powerful and healing effect right now.
Energy, assertiveness, aggression and sexuality are amplified during this time. Physical, mental and emotional energy can run high. Your motivation can take on an air of confidence and purpose. If you normally shrink back from asserting yourself, this can be a time when it's a bit easier to find the courage to take a stand. It can also make you more sensitive to this amplified energy in others around you. If you are distressed by Mars energy in general (afraid of anger, intimidated by aggression, cautious about sexuality, etc.), this transit might bring a bit more of it than you can comfortably handle. However, it can also give you an opportunity to experience and make friends with this energy. If you typically enjoy high energy, this can be a time when you can make progress with plans and projects, and have flirtatious or impish fun along the way.
This can be a potent, exciting and/or explosive time! Your energy level may be a bit wonky with a lot of ups and downs. However, there is also likely to be a lot of energy to harness for whatever purpose you want to apply it to – just don't expect to always be able to draw on it predictably or consistently. If you have wanted to take action to break free of old habits or patterns, this is a great time to do that. Or, you might want to begin a new project that is unusual or experimental. This spurt of energy probably won't last, so you'll need to follow it up with some structure, discipline and realism if you want to continue whatever you've started. In the meantime, make the most of this upsurge of energy, motivation and drive, but remember that if you become reckless or destructive, you'll have to live with the consequences.
Mars and Uranus are also parallel, meaning they are aligned 3-dimensionally, like a Solar Eclipse. That makes this conjunction extra intense! If you have any natal planets being transited by Mars and Uranus, this transit will pack an even greater punch. This includes natal planets or points close to 15° (e.g. 10-20°) of: Aries (conjunction aspect – stimulation, illumination, breaking free of old ways, release of passion or anger or spontaneity). The other Cardinal signs (Cancer, Libra, Capricorn: square aspect – challenging old ways, discovering what is getting in your way, shocking or unexpected events). The other Fire signs (Leo, Sagittarius: trine aspect – opportunities to try something new). The Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius: sextile aspect – creating something new from unexpected resources or inspiration).
If you are personally being affected by this Mars-Uranus conjunction, it's good to take some extra caution and mindfulness to avoid accidents, mishaps or over-reacting such that you lose your centre and better judgment. If you get over-stimulated, take some time out to catch your breath and get grounded again. If you start to feel uncomfortable or unsafe, listen to your instincts and intuition and do what seems reasonable to deal with the situation.
This Mars-Uranus conjunction also brings the final Uranus-Pluto square into sharp focus. You may find that you, or those around you, are not about to "suffer fools gladly" and that you have little tolerance for arbitrary rules or obstacles. If you're at a time of wanting to break free of being stuck, this transit could give you a substantial push, but it's probably best not to simply explode your way out of the mud which might cause unnecessary damage and chaos. Walk away from a bad situation, if you need to, but burning bridges or leaving scorched earth behind you might not be the best policy.
This can be a volatile combination of energies, which can generate enormous stress and conflict, but can also motivate you go beyond your perceived limitations. The biggest dangers with this transit include obsessive control, violence in response to frustration, and natural reactions of anger being blown out of proportion into rage. However, if you are able to harness this energy and put it to productive use, it can fuel your ambitions and drive you to push past the barriers that are in your way (including your own discouragement or lethargy). There can be a fine line, though, between empowering yourself with determination and courage versus forcing the issue in a way that creates more problems than it solves. And there is a difference between being obsessively attached to the outcome versus discovering that you have more courage, strength and tenacity than you thought you did, when your back is against the wall. Sexual tension can be strong under this transit, so it is wise to use some good judgment about whether or how to act on that. Power struggles with others can become very intense, so strive to be clear in yourself about what you really want and how you can assert your interests without inflicting the emotional equivalent of nuclear war.
See Mars conjunct Uranus, above, for more about how Mars will ramp up the Uranus-Pluto energy.
Imagination, dreams, creativity and intuition are more easily accessible while Mercury floats through Pisces. You may be more impressionable, appreciative and open to ideas that previously had seemed improbable, unrealistic or silly. This is a good transit for any creative work – writing, music, artistic projects, or just putting ideas together in new ways. Problem solving could benefit now, because it may be easier to think beyond the limiting boundaries of the situation. On the other hand, it might also be easier to become caught in confusion, ambiguity or ambivalence, since the sharp edges of definition may be easily blurred or distorted. This is a time when the "Right Brain" – the intuitive, creative and non-rational side of the mind – can be more active. As a result, meditation, dreams and daydreams may be more accessible. Unfortunately, illusion and deception might also be more convincing and enticing, since critical and objective thinking could be a bit harder to maintain. You might also experience some mental lethargy and need to give your mind a rest. Try going to a movie, or read an entertaining novel, or spend some quality "alone time" with yourself. Or, take a long walk in a park or by a body of water, where you can enjoy the luxury of just appreciating nature and "being" instead of "doing." Some harmless or entertaining escapism can be a great way to give yourself a mental vacation – just don’t get stuck there. Explorations of spiritual experience and thought can also bring new insights and inspiration under this transit.
For up to a week before and after this date, your physical and emotional energy may feel a bit heavy, stuck, serious or sad. You might feel held back by circumstances or pressured by people or situations involving structure, rules, authority figures, expectations and responsibilities. For about the next four months, your ambitions and goals can benefit from planning and development at a deeper level. It is a time to rework and refine your goals to figure out how you are going to achieve them. You may also need to examine your motives for wanting to achieve these goals, as well as how feasible they are. You may therefore look at how your goals, or your method of achieving them, ought to be changed. This can also be a time of improving how you deal with authority, expectations, obligations or discipline. Toward that end, today's station could trigger these issues through events, conflicts, challenges or additional "homework." If you've been having problems or are uncomfortable with these areas, especially during the last 3 months, this retrograde period can allow you to gradually build a new way of dealing with them or problem-solving the difficulties. After Saturn turns Direct in 4 months, you will be in a better position to apply what you've learned and developed more fully.
Your thoughts, ideas and communication need to become structured, rational and discreet, although this may not be easy to achieve. You may have to work extra hard to get your point across now, since others might be resistant to your ideas or may not be familiar with the basic concepts. It is a time to be clear, objective and down-to-earth in your communication and thinking, but equally important to do this without going overboard and becoming rigid, autocratic or over-cautious. If you find yourself stuck in a "glass half empty" frame of mind, you might be sagging under the weight of melancholy ...Or, it might mean you are coming to terms with some hard realities and decisions and feeling the gravity of the implications. But also check to be sure you're not taking yourself and your situation too seriously. By applying your best efforts, this can be a very productive time, especially with anything involving communication, writing, organising or logic.
Saturn is stationary as Mercury squares it, which makes this an unusually intense transit. There can be an even greater tendency toward rigid thinking, demands for perfection or feelings of discouragement. If you feel like you're slamming into a brick wall in your path, consider that maybe it would do you good to slow down or take some time out to revise your plan, methods or reasons for where you're trying to go. It might indicate that you're not on the best path for you right now, or it could mean that you would do better to work smarter instead of harder, change how you're going about things or perhaps it would help to refocus your goal more clearly.
Saturn also stations less than 3° from a square aspect to Neptune. Saturn won't catch up to perfect the square until November 2015 and then forms 3 passes of that transit over the coming year. For now, Mercury plays out his archetypal messenger role, first squaring Saturn (Mar.16) and then conjoining Neptune (Mar.18). The result is that while Mercury is talking to them (roughly Mar.13-21), we are likely to see a preview of the upcoming Saturn-Neptune square.
This is the final exact pass of the Uranus-Pluto square!
Does this mean tomorrow we'll wake up and life will have some semblance of normalcy, calm, resolution and ease? Well, not exactly... Not where the Uranus-Pluto issues are concerned anyway.
Think of the huge social change that took place in the 60s. Uranus and Pluto conjoined only in 1965-66, but the effects could be felt for quite a few years leading up to it and the energy played out for several years after the conjunction had finished. In the same way, we are only at the peak of the roller coaster hump and still have much of the ride to go through still.
However, the energies that have developed over the last 3 years are shifting now. We are turning a corner collectively as well as individually. What will you commit to? Will you stay the course to move forward on your path of change? Or have you decided that a different direction works better for you in the long run?
Or perhaps you feel that you've bitten off more than you can chew and it's time to dial back your rate of change and growth, meaning that you need to go back to a simpler time...if you can. Going back isn't usually an option – you can't "unring the bell" as they say. However, it might be possible to soften your rate of change a bit while you strengthen your foundation until you're ready for greater foreward motion again.
There is often a price to be paid for backing down, even if it's deemed necessary. Be sure you know what that price is and whether you're really ready to pay it.
The price of staying the course and moving forward means that you must let go of where you have been so that it doesn't drag you down and keep you spinning your wheels. Separating yourself from where you have been means gathering courage and maintaining your balance as you take the leap to the next step. It might mean grieving the loss of something or someone that has meant a lot in your life, but needs to move off to the side to make room for a new focus in your life.
Beware of the tendency to overdo the rate of change – too much, too fast. This could mean resisting the urge to sever ties too abruptly with people, places or situations that are changing position in your life. Or it might also mean jamming on the brakes to slow yourself down instead of allowing your rate to slow down more naturally. Extremes might be tempting but could create more turbulence and psychological whiplash than is necessary.
Alternatively, it's best to avoid getting stuck if you're uncertain what to do next – that deer-in-the-headlights kind of frozen. If you're feeling stuck, you might be trying to take on too much and intimidating yourself with too large a vision that can't be swallowed in one gulp. Instead, think of what you can do now, no matter how small.
Alternatively, go do something else for a while and get out of your head or your fear. Find something to do where you can really laugh – go see a funny movie or have fun with friends. Do something that moves your body – dance or sing or work out or clean out your closets. Do something that lightens you up a bit and then tackle the problem again with a fresh head.
Now that you have the context of the final pass, here is the overall energy of the Uranus-Pluto square:
If you haven't noticed that the world is been heating up in the last few years, with controversy becoming the norm and escalating competition for dominance by competing philosophies and priorities... well you just haven't been paying attention. Uranus and Pluto have been moving into position for the square aspect (90°). Think prize fight between the Hulk and Darth Vader. I'd suggest loading up with popcorn and grabbing a seat on the sidelines, but in this drama there aren't really any true sidelines. Everyone will be (and are being) affected by the massive changes that our world is undergoing.
This square aspect is the first major turning point in a roughly 140 year cycle that Uranus and Pluto make together. The last conjunction (the start of the cycle) took place in 1965-66. The social upheaval that occurred during that time was legendary. We are still feeling ripple effects 40+ years later. In fact, those ripple effects, which themselves produce more ripple effects, have built up to the point where they are becoming waves crashing into each other. We have 3 years of exact passes of the square transit, with its effect spread out over a good 15 years, all told, possibly more depending on how you look at it.
So what's a mere mortal to do?
It's so easy to get caught up in the "hoorayfor my side" politics, trying to persuade others with impassioned urgency. It's as if Pluto is stubbornly refusing to budge, while Uranus does his best to throw the knockout punch. The rock meets the hard place. Everybody's yelling; nobody's listening except to formulate their next argument. And in a competitive world, winning can feel like the only worthwhile conclusion, while losing can feel like the end of the world.
This is the kind of atmosphere that wars are spawned from.
When the negotiation of Venus is overridden by the winner-take-all attitude of Mars, there's more destruction than healing that takes place. Chiron's message is that some wounding can be a good thing if it removes the toxin and stimulates healing, but too much will only destroy what is still healthy and sabotage healing.
This is NOT about any particular political party or religion or nationality or any other group that forms itself around a philosophy or ideology or belief system. In fact, all groups are subject to this escalation of energy as a collective reaction. That kind of dynamic only serves to narrow the focus to such a sharp point that it's impossible to see anything else, and that almost never goes anywhere good in the end.
Here are some suggestions. Use this transit to observe the ways you get swept up in the turmoil. (This could be personal turmoil in your immediate life or global turmoil.) How much of your own opinion, perspective and passion is being amplified by the eruption of energy from those you identify with? Or how much is a reaction to the force with which your opponent is expressing their position and trying to persuade you?
Being influenced and having your own thoughts, feelings and actions affected by the collective currents around you may or may not be something that's beneficial for you. For now, just observe it and be aware of it. See where that leads you. Aim to respond rather than react. Question, question, question. Let go of the belief that you must win at all costs or that the end will justify the means. Trust your ability to find ways to rise above what you do and don't believe to be true – it will allow you see more of what is.
Last Uranus-Pluto square: 1932-1934.
Dates for the current Uranus-Pluto cycle:
Venus rules the sign of Taurus, so she is very comfortable here! Your experiences of pleasure and sensuality are likely to be heightened...perhaps even a bit too much! You might be tempted to overindulge in sensory delights. On the other hand, you may feel the urge to be more grounded, practical and methodical in the way you handle relationships, money, possessions, material values, and attracting what you desire. It is also a time when your desires could manifest tangibly or at least become more apparent. It may be possible to see more clearly the ways that your self-worth is tied to material things, like income, savings, possessions and spending. Your finances and possessions could act like a "touch stone" to reassure you in times of stress. The trick is not to let this become a substitute for genuine self-respect. To make the most of this transit, take some time to relax and enjoy life! Take your time, smell the flowers, drink in the sunsets, listen to beautiful music, get an aromatherapy massage or explore new uses for chocolate. ;-)
The imagination soars under this transit! Possibilities seem richer, insights appear more magical and creativity flows like liquid honey. Your intuition is likely to be more fluid, and you may even have psychic experiences. Dreams may be more vivid and active, including daydreams. You may feel a need for quiet meditation or just being alone with your own thoughts. Your mental focus may seem a bit blurred, although in the outer edges you may catch a glimpse of ideas and possibilities that you don't ordinarily notice. It can be an inspiring time if you are involved in creative activities, like artwork, music, writing and other creative forms of communication and self-expression. This is a time when your "Right Brain" (intuitive, creative, non-rational) may be very active. In fact, it might be a bit difficult to bring a sharp focus to your "Left Brain" (logical, rational, realistic). Your judgment and ability to be objective may be off, and you could be more prone to wishful thinking and flights of fantasy. If you're making an important decision now, it may be wise to do a reality check with a trusted friend before you commit yourself.
