Lunar Forecast for the

NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS

This Forecast in effect
December 11 to 25, 2015

The Lunar Forecasts give Daily Horoscopes a greater context.

This is the time of year when we're encouraged to believe. The air sparkles with miracles, renewal and hope. If you're in the Northern Hemisphere it's a time when the days are shortest, but that means they'll start to grow longer again. Joy! If you're south of the equator, it marks the start of summer when all of nature is in full bloom. Bliss! If you're struggling with hardships, doubt or despair, the season seems to say, "Just hang on a little longer and it will get better." This inspiration might help you through difficult times right now. Keep the faith and don't give up.

On the other hand, ironically, sometimes it's better to give up. This clears away goals and efforts that simply aren't working as you'd hoped and might be just draining your energy. Letting go can release that energy so you can invest it in something else that could be more successful, meaningful or fulfilling. If you've been struggling to hold onto something that just doesn't want to get better, and if the thought of letting go of it feels like a sigh of relief, you might want to consider if it's time to do just that – cut your losses and reinvest all that loyalty, steadfastness, endurance and commitment in something else.

The thing is, there's never an easy answer about which path to take – hold fast to your dream or give it up and try something else. If it's really the right choice to let it go, then there's no shame in doing just that. If it feels right for you to hang in there and keep the faith, there's no shame in that either. As you consider which direction to take over the next few weeks, you are invited to find your bliss and renew your sense of purpose. This process will play out over the next few months, as you explore deeper meaning in your life, examine what you believe (and believe in), and what you really want to aspire to as an individual and as a member of society.

Lunar Forecast for the

FULL MOON in CANCER

This Forecast in effect
December 25, 2015 to January 9, 2016

The Lunar Forecasts give Daily Horoscopes a greater context.

Like most people in Western culture, you might be focusing your holiday time on family right now. This is a time when families tend to draw together for warmth, both physical and emotional. The Full Moon in Cancer is beautifully poised to open the gates to let in harmony, peace, joy and love. And for many people, that's what predominates over this year's December holidays. It's a wonderful time to be creative, open-hearted, compassionate and at one with those around you.

On the other hand, not everyone celebrates something at this time of year. Maybe you're someone who wants nothing more than to batten down the hatches and hide under a rock until it's all over, when they can resume life as usual sometime in January. In that case, this Full Moon could provide the peaceful being-ness that can see you through the cultural storms. The trick is to do things to nurture yourself in ways that feed your spirit and bring some happiness and contentment as you enjoy your own company. If that seems beyond your grasp right now, try reaching out to someone to see if they can give you some of what you need. And if that doesn't work, try finding someone else to give some connection, harmony and friendship to.

Most people land somewhere in between these extremes, with a mixed bag of good times, bad times and stuff that's just a bit too weird to classify. No matter where you are in this territory, you may well experience some frustration, arguments or conflicts of interest. On the other hand, you may also be challenged to change your mind about something, to focus on figuring out how to solve a sharp-edged problem, or to find assertive words to explain, justify or defend your actions or intentions. Pick your words with care during this time, since a little can go a long way. Words that are too sharp or not well thought out before leaving your lips might possibly lead to hurt feelings. Be careful not to say something cruel in anger that you can't take back, and if you're on the receiving end of this, it's probably wise to give it time (February, for example) before finally deciding what you want to do about it or with it.

Whatever your situation and whatever your preferences, I wish you a delightful holiday season in whatever way will bring you joy, and an awesome year ahead in 2016! See you next year! :-)
