"Do you think I'm wonderful?" she asked him one day as they leaned against the trunk of a petrified maple.
"No," he said.
"Why?"
"Because so many girls are wonderful. I imagine hundreds of men have called their loves wonderful today, and it's only noon. You couldn't be something that hundreds of others are."

Jan.23 – FULL MOON in LEO (03:29 of Leo)

Do you dream of being a perfect person? Have you been haunted lately by your imperfections? Or perhaps you've been prodded by a vision of what you might become if you could just get past your human shortcomings?

The New Year is seen by many of us as a time of fresh beginnings. New year, new inspiration, new direction, new possibilities!

It tends to evoke the anticipation of change: what will the year bring? At the New Year, the Sun is in "get serious and get down to it" Capricorn, so we make our New Year's resolutions, formulate our goals, or just scope out the coming year to see what we would like to accomplish by this time next year.

The shadow side of this upbeat initiative is that it often grows out of its downbeat opposite. While we're aiming to improve ourselves and our lives, we are often motivated by identifying what is wrong, inadequate or ineffectual. We seek light in order to emerge from darkness, and here in the Northern Hemisphere this is paralleled by dark winter solstice from which we slowly move into longer daylight hours.

By now the Sun is in Aquarius (since Jan.20). Aquarius is complicated. While we often associate it with individuation and uniqueness, it is also about groups and being simply one more among many. Those with strong Aquarius in their chart often feel like the "odd man out." This sign highlights our experience with groups (friends, peers, clubs, greater community, society at large), whether that is comfortable or stressful.

The Full Moon spotlights the polarization of opposing signs – in this case, Leo and Aquarius. As different as they might be, opposite signs are actually two sides of the same coin. In Leo we shine as individuals, bringing out self-expression on many levels – creativity, personality, playfulness and pleasure. Here we develop a sense of self and a (hopefully healthy) ego identity while discovering our importance and specialness.

In Aquarius, this spotlight must be shared with others. We are no longer raised up on a pedestal but are on equal footing with many others. At one extreme, we might even feel like our individuality gets lost in the crowd, as our radiant self becomes indistinguishable from other glowing orbs. At the other end of the spectrum, we might take the group's identity as our own in a kind of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" approach. We are still individuals, yes, but in the context of many other individuals it can be a struggle to maintain a sense of personal autonomy.

When the Moon is full in Leo, the light of the Sun is fully reflected back to Earth from the face of the Moon. In this case, it is the Aquarius Sun, so at one level this is the group's energy bouncing off of us and echoed back to the group again.

You might be called upon to become more aware of what you are bringing (back) to the group. It's possible you are perceiving something about the dynamics within the group and are in a position to provide valuable feedback. On a subconscious level you might even "act out" that dynamic without realizing it, and then wonder why you're getting strange looks or unexpected reactions from those around you.

On a personal level, this is a time when you may feel like you've lost a bit of your own lustre within the collective luminosity of the crowd. Alternatively, you may discover opportunities to polish up your diamond spirit and make yourself look, or perhaps just feel, more visible, clear and bright.

We are sun and moon, dear friend; we are sea and land. It is not our purpose to become each other; it is to recognize each other, to learn to see the other and honor him for what he is: each the other's opposite and complement.
~ Hermann Hesse, Narcissus and Goldmund

Chiron forms a Hard Wedge aspect pattern with the Sun-Moon opposition, which forms octile aspects (based on dividing the circle by 8) to the Full Moon. Chiron is octile the Sun (45°, a.k.a. semi-square) and tri-octile the Moon (135°, a.k.a. sesqui-quadrate or sesqui-square). With a teensy weensy orb of just 6 minutes of arc, these sharp-edged aspects add a strong, pungent flavour to the Full Moon stew.

Hard Wedge aspect pattern

Although considered "minor" aspects, octiles can feel surprisingly urgent, annoying and prickly. With Chiron being the one with the pitchfork, you may feel an insistent need for some form of healing or "making do" in order to restore balance. For example, this could manifest in health concerns (still recovering from holiday partying?), or it might be a down time for you when it's a bit difficult to believe in yourself.

Since Chiron is in Pisces, it might stir up old, persistent struggles around keeping your energy focused and on the ball. For example, this might involve a seasonal effect if you're in the Northern Hemisphere where we still have long, dark nights and cold, brief days. Or, after weeks of excitement and celebration through December, the post-holiday come-down might be a bit disappointing or depressing (for instance, as the bills come in from the December spending spree).

On the other hand, this down-turn may provide the kick in the pants you need to get moving. Much depends on what you focus on – the unravelling aftermath of the holiday celebrations, or the ramping up of intentions and activities toward new plans for the coming year. With Chiron being involved, it's important to take care of yourself on many levels. That could mean simply getting enough sleep, nutrition, recreation and exercise, or it might mean getting the support you need to fill in the gaps between your needs and the available resources.

If you find it difficult to stay optimistic in the face of uphill "trudgery" then it will be important to find sources of encouragement that can help you keep the faith and not lose sight of the bigger picture of what you want to accomplish. If you treat your "spiritual" needs (i.e. "keeping your spirits up") the way you do your physical needs, then think of what you need to stay healthy, fit and productive. Engage people and activities that rejuvenate your sense of hope and well-being, and be willing to allow the process to unfold in its own way rather than feeling you must micromanage every step.

Since Chiron is acting on the Leo Full Moon, this may well impact your self-esteem, sense of identity and mode of self-expression. If you struggle with depression or feelings of inadequacy, you may find there is a reciprocal effect between your mood and what you are doing out in the world.

In other words, being proactive about taking care of your worldly needs (career, social, etc) could also boost your self-confidence. In the same way, investing some extra attention in supporting your internal state of mind might also fortify your ability to do what needs to be done in the outside world. Conversely, if you give up on supporting yourself and your activities out in the world, it may drag down your efforts to keep your spirits up internally as well.

This might sound like a no-brainer, but it's a connection we often miss. As above, so below. As without, so within. And vice versa.

It is not a daily increase, but a daily decrease.
Hack away at the inessentials.
~ Bruce Lee

In Virgo, Jupiter is now fused with the Lunar North Node (true node, rather than mean node), hovering a minuscule 3 minutes of arc apart. These two have been inching closer since the end of last November and will stay within arm's length of each other until this coming July. There are two passes very close to each other this month—Jan.23 and Jan.29—as they dance together and alternate who leads and who follows. The final pass comes in June and they linger in each other's footsteps until July.

Have you been feeling inspired by ideas to expand your horizons? Maybe getting flashes of possibilities that could enrich your life? Do you find you're being challenged to renew a sense of faith in yourself, or that you're discovering reasons to believe in the best of humanity again? This is likely Jupiter making his presence known in your life.

On the other hand, you might feel haunted by the flip side. Your faith in yourself or humanity may be sagging, or grasping the possibilities might seem too distant or abstract to ever reach them. Don't get stuck in the Virgo side of this conjunction where everything must be picture perfect or else it feels like your efforts were for naught. "Good enough" might not be the ideal result, but it's still "good enough" to get the job done. Resist the urge to gamble away "good enough" in what may be a failed search for perfection.

Hope and optimism are more likely to spring eternal when planted in the soil of practical action. Baby steps might be more productive than giant ones, if you're having trouble moving forward. However, be careful not to get so bogged down in minuscule, cautious steps that you miss the chance to take bigger strides when the opportunity comes along.

Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least.
~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Mercury and Pluto are welded tightly together in Capricorn right now. From Jan.20 until Jan.31, these two are locked together less than one degree apart, as Mercury heats things up with the intensity of his direct station on Jan.25. You could experience a "do or die" urgency during this time. Your Pluto determination may demand your best efforts, as you set your sights on renewed goals and forge the ideas from the last 3 weeks into committed action.

Pluto is still wrestling with Uranus in their long-lived Cardinal Cross (90°, in effect approximately from 2008 to 2019). Although the exact pass occurred in March 2015, there is plenty of energy yet to be played out before they leave us and make their way toward the opposition in the mid-2040s. For several years now, these two mega-energies have been duking it out on the collective stage, battling between stability versus change, change-forward versus change-back, the old ways versus the new ways, and rage versus the machine.

On a more personal level, people have struggled with breaking free of inhibiting, cautious, restrictive or intolerable circumstances versus staying the course through difficult yet potentially rewarding duties and commitments. "Do I hang in there with what might be a losing battle, or do I chuck it and start all over again?" So often it comes down to identifying and weighing priorities and needs. Is the devil you know better or worse than the devil you don't?

Mercury conjunct Pluto, square Uranus

The current Mercury retrograde cycle pulls the Uranus-Pluto brawl once again into the ring. With the Mercury direct station being so tightly conjunct Pluto and square Uranus, and lingering for weeks within orb of these aspects, there is immense pressure to transform ideas into reality, insight into action, and motivation into solid plans. On a societal and political level, we see urgent efforts to win people over to one side or the other regarding various issues.

On the extreme end of the personal side, you might feel like it's "now or never" and the rest of your life hangs in the balance of what you do from here. (No pressure...) Somewhere in the middle is the reality, where decisions made during this time will likely have a lasting and important impact beyond the immediate situation.

Decisions and actions made now are best chosen carefully, thoughtfully, responsibly and seriously (Pluto in Capricorn), and yet it is just as crucial to also do it in a playful, enthusiastic, daring and innovative way (Uranus in Aries). Your vision of a potential future may be tantalizing and compelling, but blindly leaping into it will risk missing your mark. There needs to be a balanced, productive, creative tension between order and chaos, between caution and courage, and between sincerity and hilarity.

The next several days (as Mercury makes its station entangled with Uranus and Pluto) are the time to bring these components together and decide on a direction to take them in. Your aim should envision the long-term implications, while allowing yourself to also be deeply connected to the present moment. When you see the path that will take you from here to there, write it down or sing a song about it or imagine something that symbolizes it, and refer back to it when you've forgotten where you're going and why. If you can't see the path yet, clarify what you can see – it's possible your route will require a detour along the way that you can't see yet.

Some of the best things are done by those with nowhere to turn, by those who don't have time, by those who truly understand the word helpless. They dispense no thought with the calculation of risk and profit, they take no thought for the future, they're forced to spearpoint into the present tense.
~ Margaret Atwood

One final observation about planetary rulers. The Leo Moon's dispositor (planetary ruler of the sign it's in) is the Sun, and the Sun is in Aquarius. Aquarius is ruled by both Saturn (traditional rulership) and Uranus (modern rulership). And since our next stop along the lunation highway will be the New Moon in Aquarius (Feb.08), what these planets are doing has extended significance.

Saturn trine Uranus

Saturn and Uranus are approaching a trine aspect (120°, currently 3:27 from exact), although it's not until December of this year that they actually make the connection. From last December until this coming April, these planets remain within 6 degrees of the trine, and during this time their closest orb is 2:22 in the last week of February. We will eventually see 3 exact passes of this transit in 2016-2017, the first of which comes within orb in November.

Saturn and Uranus seem odd as co-rulers of the same sign (but then, what describes Aquarius energy better than "odd?"). Saturn is serious, Uranus is whacky. Saturn is cautious, Uranus is spontaneous. Saturn is about establishing structure, Uranus is about tearing down and reforming structures. Not exactly the easiest alliance!

However, as co-facilitators of Aquarius they both want similar things, just going about them in different ways. Saturn seeks to establish a solid sense of self, so that the Leo ego structure can survive the dissolving effects of the group and not become lost within it. Uranus aims to bring the person to a state of individuation by embracing their uniqueness, releasing their true self beyond the limitations of the ego, and transcending the self-other polarity. In both cases, Aquarius beckons the individual to go outside of their comfort zone and venture into uncharted territory, where they can discover who they may become beyond the safety of the known, established world.

When Saturn and Uranus compete, the result can be a battle for control over how to define, understand and express one's personal role within the greater world. However, when they cooperate (as they do through the trine aspect), they complement each other by combining an adventure into the unknown with a solid lifeline to find our way home again.

From January through April, you have a chance to explore outside your comfort zone in ways that avoid recklessness and needless risk. You can test and push the boundaries of what normally works for you without having to step off a cliff edge. And if you're feeling a little too far out on a limb, the Saturn-Uranus trine can support your journey, either back to security and sanity again or onward to firmer ground.

Let this be a time of self-affirmation that can endure even in circumstances that feel unnerving, confusing, unknown or demoralizing. Reach for healing that comes through added strength that might not be perfect but is indeed "good enough."

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you from misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
~ Max Ehrmann, Desiderata: A Poem for a Way of Life

Jan.25 – Mercury Stationary Direct (14:54 of Capricorn; until Apr.28)  (Jan.26 in AU) ("What's a Station?"  "What does Retrograde mean?"  Read more about Mercury Retrograde.  Read more about Retrograde planets.)

Mercury finally turns direct! Yippeeee!!!! ;-) But we're not out of the woods just yet. For up to a week before and after today, you may experience mental intensity, confusion, and miscommunications or simply changes in your outlook. After being Retrograde for the last 3 to 3½ weeks, Mercury is now taking a slow turn to resume Direct motion. This period has challenged you to rethink and rehash things that required some fine-tuning or revision. The Direct station can be a time when clearer decisions start to emerge from the issues and struggles you've encountered during the retrograde period. Or, it might turn your perspective around so that you're seeing your situation fresh again.

Over the next couple of weeks, while Mercury is still in the Shadow, your brain may feel a bit like it's gradually waking up after a deep sleep. During this time, you can gradually put into practice the learning and knowledge you've gained from your retrograde "dreams" and moonlight visions. It will take time to get fully back into sync with the Mercury direct energy. So, take it slow, one step at a time, and untangle yourself one strand at a time.

The key dates of this Mercury cycle (for North American Eastern Time):

Jan.29 – Jupiter conjunct North Lunar True Node (22:31 of Virgo)  (Jan.28 in HAST, AKST PST, MST)("What's a Lunar Node?")

Under this transit you may feel especially idealistic, optimistic and visionary, and start to perceive and understand life beyond your usual horizons. On the other hand, you might also feel an upsurge of judgment, blame or criticism, feeling irritated that you—or the people around you—aren't living up to the best potential. You might also encounter someone who is a mentor, advisor or inspiring teacher, or you might be this person to someone else. Another possibility is you might travel, want to travel, or encounter a person or situation that gives you exposure to other cultures, nationalities, religions or philosophies. Or, you might have a spiritual awakening or feel the need to rethink your beliefs. This is a good time to make a quest for ultimate truth, greater understanding and highest wisdom, using whatever situation presents itself around this time. This transit is in effect for up to a month before and after this date.

This is the second of 3 exact passes: Jan.23, Jan.29 and Jun.20. Jupiter and the North Node do a little dance in January, all at 22 degrees of Virgo. Here are the dance steps.

Initially both the Node and Jupiter are retrograde. The Node (in this case moving faster) crosses over Jupiter (pass #1 on Jan.23). However, the Node then turns direct for a few days (remember, this is the True Node; although it gradually retrogrades through the zodiac, it does so by oscillating back and forth; kind of "one step forward, two steps back").

The Node then crosses back over Jupiter (pass #2 on Jan.29). At that time, Jupiter is moving faster than the Node, so it pulls away faster than the Node can catch up. On Jan.27, the Moon also conjoins Jupiter and the Node.

On May.09 finally Jupiter stations direct, so that now Jupiter and the Node are moving toward each other (Jupiter moving direct, Node moving retrograde). They meet in the middle on Jun.20 (pass #3) and go their separate ways, moving in opposite directions. After that, they won't meet again until 2023.

What does it all mean? You may feel called to re-vision where you're going and (especially) how you plan to get from here to there. This is not simply a visualization exercise to guide you into the future – this is about really nailing down the details, which will ultimately tell you how realistic, doable and fulfilling your vision is likely to be. This is a process that will take the first half of the year, starting in January, turning a corner in May and wrapping up the process in June or July. This isn't about making it all come true during that time, but of recalibrating the Jupiterian Archer's aim of where you're going.

Over the next 6 months, you have a chance to test out theories, ideas and methods, so that you expand your options and know which ones will set you on a course to take you to your destination. Around the first pass (Jan.23) you may feel you're getting a good sense of how to manifest this, but by the second pass (Jan.29) you might start to realize the path isn't a straight one, or question if this really is the best direction for you, or see that it's a bigger job than you thought.

Don't lose heart! This kind of long-range planning isn't usually a slam dunk – over with quickly and on to the next thing. This is more like letting your eyes become accustomed to the changing light – give your vision some time to make itself clear in more detail. This is probably best achieved over the next few months by trying out different parts of your vision and ways to make it happen. It might help to take a methodical approach – for example, write in your journal about what you're trying to do, what you do to try to make that happen and how well that works for you. It could come in handy later when you're assessing this time of trial-and-error.

Jan.30 – Mercury Direct conjunct Pluto (16:02 of Capricorn)  (Jan.29 in HAST, AKT, PST, MST, CST)

Deep insights and passionate communication are possible under this transit ...although, so is speaking more forcefully than you intend to about things that require a bit of delicacy or discretion. This can be a new beginning in understanding the deeper motives and dynamics of what is happening in your life, although this could happen with great intensity or obsession. The light can finally start to go on in the darker corners that have eluded you. Although what you see there might be both illuminating and disturbing, it is ultimately something you can grow from, which can transform your mental outlook into something more meaningful and resilient. This is a time when you can start to shed and leave behind old worn out perceptions or ineffective forms of communication. You also have an increased ability to take thoughts, ideas and information and transform them into something healing ...or wounding. Choose your words carefully and mindfully. Writing down your thoughts and ideas to capture the energy of this transit can help you gather the deeper qualities.

Jan.30 – Venus sextile Neptune (08:25 of Capricorn/Pisces)  (Jan.31 in AU)

Artistry, romance, creativity and faith have the potential to flow freely now. Your creative Muse is whispering in your ear, although it will still take your own elbow grease to turn it into something real. Socially and romantically, things could run smoothly and even a bit magically, so be sure you are clear in yourself about what you really want. This can be a time of blessings and abundance (in all areas of life) ...but there is also the risk of overspending and being overly optimistic in your assumptions about money and relationships. Your natural beauty and warmth can be brought out by this transit, but don't just waste it on creating a façade of outer glamour and charm. Let the essence of your inner beauty and pure spirit shine through your appearance and mannerisms!

Jan.31 – Mercury Direct square Uranus (17:08 of Capricorn/Aries)  (Feb.01 in NST, AU)

Flashes of insight can show you new clarity but you might not like the answers you get, since they could disturb your logical perception of what's what. You might get some news or learn come information that shakes you up in some way. This isn't necessarily bad, since this may be necessary to open your mind to something you've been resisting. There's a Higher Truth here that wants to be told (by you or to you), but the way it's phrased can make a big difference in the reaction. There is a risk of "shooting off your mouth before your brains are loaded," as the saying goes, and impulsive or reckless communication and ideas could create more problems than they solve. It will probably help to listen inside yourself first to discover what you really need to say, and then figure out how to say it in a way that doesn't cause unnecessary damage. Strive to shine a light of truth without blinding anyone with it.

Feb.03 – Mars sextile Pluto (16:10 of Scorpio/Capricorn)

This can be a time of intense and powerful energy. It can be especially so if you focus your intention to tap into and use this energy deliberately, although if you are triggered into a reaction you might find it is more forceful than you intended. This can be a good time to make changes that have far-reaching, transformative effects. Your powers of persuasion can be stronger now, so be careful you don't try to force things to the point of making something happen that perhaps should be left alone or treated with a gentler touch. Sex and other passionate urges may rise more easily now, although obsession and the need to control your surroundings might come up with them. This transit is perhaps best used to refresh your sense of passion and transform your sense of purpose and direction.

Feb.03 – Mercury Direct sextile Chiron (18:53 of Capricorn/Pisces)

Your mental focus and communication could get an injection of healing energy under this transit, as long as you are prepared to put some effort into getting it. Your spirits can become uplifted now, from seeing a light at the end of the tunnel or from finding a light that guides you along the path in front of you. It will not, however, make the tunnel or the path go away; you'll still have to walk the walk. But your mental perspective can become more accepting of inconsistencies and frustrations under this transit, which can alleviate a lot of stress and make the journey a bit smoother. Mental struggles and critical "self-talk" may find some reconciliation and acceptance that brings peace of mind. You have an increased ability to find the right words and understanding to help others with their problems, by providing insightful feedback. To get the most out of this transit, aim to find a mental outlook and communication style that can tolerate contradiction without having to eradicate one in order to justify the other.

Feb.03 – Sun sextile Saturn (14:20 of Aquarius/Sagittarius)  (Feb.04 in AU)

You have an opportunity now to make some progress in obtaining results in your projects, career, ambitions and creative expression. It is possible to tap into a disciplined mindset, which can be used to take some steps toward goals that you're trying to manifest. You are surrounded by potential to achieve this, although it will not simply be handed to you – you will still have to work for it. Your mind and purpose are likely to be clear and strong now, enabling you to be decisive and productive. Leadership, management and organizing abilities are potentially high right now. Asserting your authority in a situation that calls for it can be done successfully, as long as you don't let yourself become rigid or bossy. It can be a good time to learn or practice new skills, or to apply yourself to any kind of serious study. It is also a time when you could formulate some solid plans for future projects or make some progress with current undertakings. Make the most of it!

Feb.05 – Venus conjunct Pluto (16:15 of Capricorn)  (Feb.06 in UK, AU)

Intensity in love and close relationships can occur under this transit, as well as a compelling need to get more control over your finances and assets. This could manifest as power dynamics emerging in your interactions with others, in which you engage in a negotiation for a better balance of power that is more in your favour. Or, you might become somewhat obsessed with the pursuit of pleasure and beauty, possibly trying to compensate for a low sense of self-worth. Or, there can be a valuable opportunity to develop a deeper connection with those close to you. You might find it necessary to negotiate with others for financial support. You may have to dig deeper than usual to extract needed resources from hidden places (or to deposit them there, out of reach from others who want a piece of your hoard). Keep your integrity high and dry by being honest with yourself about the ethics of your actions.

Feb.06 – Sun sextile Uranus (17:19 of Aquarius/Aries)  (Feb.07 in AU)

You are more open than usual to spontaneity, surprises and "flying by the seat of your pants!" Your sense of humour and fun are more finely tuned during this transit, as is your ability to break out of old outworn habits. It's a great time to try new things and experiment with something that's out of character for you. In fact, it may be surprising how easy it is to break out of your usual routine...so much so that it's good to be careful not to be too reckless under this transit. Just have fun pushing the envelope! You may also find you want things to be spontaneous and new and out-of-the-ordinary so much that it's hard not to feel restless and dissatisfied with ordinary life right now. But remember that trying to plan spontaneity defeats the purpose of the exercise. And if you are hungering for something new but can't seem to find something satisfying, try digging a little deeper to see what is driving that hunger from inside you. You could find surprising answers.

Feb.06 – Mercury Direct trine Jupiter (21:52 of Capricorn/Virgo)  (Feb.07 in AU)

This transit can make you quite talkative and flooded with ideas, along with those around you. Your stream of consciousness can flow abundantly with optimism and visionary possibilities. Write down your best ideas for later development, since you may be having too much fun now playing with ideas to want to stop and make them manifest just yet. Your outlook is usually optimistic and open-minded under this transit, although it might simply neutralize an already pessimistic frame of mind. You are likely to be more open to spiritual or philosophical perspectives, being more able to see yourself as part of something greater than yourself. You might even find that luck comes your way because you are more receptive to opportunities and possibilities.

Mercury also trines the Lunar North True Node the same day, since Jupiter and the North Node are exactly conjunct right now.

Feb.06 – Venus square Uranus (17:19 of Capricorn/Aries)  (Feb.07 in AU)

Under this transit, you may be tempted by impulse spending, or you might be somewhat erratic in your use of resources. This can result in unpredictable or unstable finances, so double check your bank accounts and credit cards before you draw on them. It is also a time when the way you relate to others (or they to you) could be somewhat inconsistent, fickle or impulsive. If your relationships or financial situation have been struggling with difficulties for a while, this transit could bring a lingering problem to the surface and require attention. On one hand, this could be a welcome breath of fresh air that cuts through the complexity of your problems and puts the cards on the table (despite the stress and conflict that likely triggered it). Or, you might feel resistance to making these changes and instead experience this as a time of unwelcome instability, upset and adjustment. However, this may be a good way to break free of excessive restraint, control or structure, which allows new possibilities to emerge that couldn't do so otherwise.

Feb.07 – Sun square Mars (18:08 of Aquarius/Scorpio)

Assertiveness, aggression and intense energy burst out under this transit. This can be a time of being pushed into taking action...or it can erupt in anger, irritation and hostility (in yourself or others). It may seem like everything pushes your buttons and rubs you the wrong way, creating conflict and putting you on edge. You may feel the impulse to burn off this excess energy through sexual activity. If you look beneath the irritation you may see a frustrated part of you that wants change, yet you have held back for some reason. Being pro-active and initiating steps for voluntary change is preferable, since you will have far more control over the process than if you get pushed into a corner and forced to act. The more preplanning you've done for this moment, the more successful you're likely to be. But if you get caught in a whirlwind of change, connect yourself to the part of you that wants change and let that ground and guide you.

Feb.07 – Venus sextile Mars (18:11 of Capricorn/Scorpio)  (Feb.08 in AU)

It is possible now to take a balanced approach to conflict, problems and projects that require effort. This can combine both a gentle touch and firm action; sensitivity and forcefulness. Negotiation and interaction with others could be aggressive and determined now, but also balanced with sensitivity and style. Any expressions of anger, frustration or discontent are more likely to be tempered with fairness, moderation and composure. You'll have to apply some effort to get these opposite energies working in sync together, but the potential and opportunity are there more-so than usual now.

Feb.08 – Venus sextile Chiron (19:09 of Capricorn/Pisces)  (Feb.07 in HAST)

Although this transit lasts for only a few days, it is possible to make some progress in your healing and rebalancing efforts, although it will take some effort to make it happen. This may show itself in relationships, social interaction, finances, values, health or your spiritual connection to the Universe. You have an increased ability to negotiate with others and with your circumstances to achieve a fair compromise that results in equal sacrifice and benefit for all concerned. However, there is a risk of wanting to avoid conflict and discord so much that you negotiate beyond what you are truly comfortable with – peace at any price. By accepting and embracing the effort or struggle that is required, you can get out of your own way and achieve a more healing balance in those struggles. You now have increased ability to facilitate changes in situations that are within your control. It can also be easier to accept and adapt to that which lies beyond your control. Your effect on others can be potentially healing right now, especially by helping them find a new balance and point of acceptance in the conflicts and struggles of their lives.
